As long as Dictator is in I’m happy. I’d love me some Sagat, Vega, Oro, and Urien too. I think all of these are very unique characters (except possibly Sagat he’s a shoto :().
I also think we’ll probably get 16 characters along with 2-4 boss/hidden/unlockable characters.

I think whenever a player blocks, however much damage would’ve been done is indicated on your health gauge as “gray life” but in red. it seems to quickly fade away if you’re not being pressured. I’m guessing your guard crush has to be a certain % before being broken, and if you’re under a certain % of life, you can’t be guard crushed or chipped.
From what I saw that red health was the damage you took from the last combo not on block and it just took a while to fade after the combo ended. Sort of like KOF13 shows red health for each hit taken but instead on a per hit basis it is tracking for the entire combo:
I know KOF :disagree: I just watched the SF5 demo again, and yes life lost first turns red then disappears BUT there is gray “blocked” life for sure that fades after a second. They’re just combining guard break and vitality for 5 probably so we aren’t suffocated by UI while trying to play.
Edit: Holy shit, I just noticed if your guard meter is drained at all, then you get hit, the guarded meter goes with it. So this game is definitely not defense focused. that’s nuts.
It was only Ryu’s Hadoken that guard broke out of his powered up state. I don’t think there is any normal guard crush or guard meter without it being specific to a character’s powered up state special.

Yea, that was the best part about 3rd Strike. Much of the cast were hybrids.

I secretly hope for Decapre with more unique normal moves. Once the disappoinment of a Cammy clone faded, i started to have plenty of fun with her. Also a return of Poison, Dudley, Juri i would be appreciate very much. That, and less shotos and i’ll be happy. I’m still traumatized from the shoto tsunami of 2009. LOL

Actually he was supposed to be a small boy who could be mistaken for a girl. Glad they went with the latter design (fedor!). Not a fans of kids in fighting games, not a fan of traps in fighting games. Trap kid? No thanks.
Karin doesn’t have to be a schoolgirl, she could be a grown up business woman/heiress. I actually I hope so, I hate schoolgirls, but Karin played so awesome I overlooked that.

I really do. Especially if the fall of Shadaloo rumour is going to be true; I can see all the anti-Shadaloo heroes and “Products” coming back for justice or revenge. Also, it’s interesting, I know Udon’s take on SF lore wasn’t canon (they altered a bunch, but I didn’t mind) and in the SF4 books, they showed that Charlie was alive at some point and able to rescue Abel. This came a while after he ambiguous fall in the earlier Udon issues, but in th games, at the time we had Charlie dead due to SFA3. I really wonder how long they’ve been putting together a plan to resurrect ol’ Chuck.

It’s an interesting coincidence that the first three announced characters also happen to be the first three characters found on the SFZ character select, Ryu, Chun-Li and Nash. My guess is the roster will be mostly Zero based, with a mixture of popular returning Zero characters and new challengers.

All of these seem like no brainers to me, I’d be surprised if many more SFII characters made an initial return. I’m prepared to expect most of the SFZ2 roster, perhaps with a few SFZ3 and SFIII characters mixed in there.

Latino is not the same as Hispano. Latinos by definition can speak Spanish, Portuguese or Italian, since all of them are languages spun off from Latin, exclusive spanish-speakers are Hispanos.

Why bother learning any other characters?
I don’t think id notice any difference online.
And why get rid of any characters that youve had a quarter of a century to play with. Not like newness is exciting or anything.
