Yeah, I just started testing and some things - like Guile’s Cross Art, which is a 9framer hit, but his Super Art which is a 8framer doesn’t work - are absurdly variable depending on the reversal.

I give up, this is too variable to document o_O

i think its a bug or something because some are working and others are not now…

if i have the dummy to do just cr. mk > rekka its safe but if its the full link its getting punished sometimes…i dont get this.

I think im going to end up deleting that post and start again anew later…

SRK’s server takes a bit to process the info, if the post isn’t deleted immediately it’ll disappear soon afterwards.

On topic, this whole reversal super thing is bizarre. It’s like the reversal window for them actually starts during the blockstun. I hope this is a bug and not deliberate, why would a 9f move punish a -3 move?

So should my basic block string go lp, lp, lp, mk > ?? If they have 2 bars?

Also if people do jab. jab, jab, jump, crossup…I feel like KBG isn’t safe I usually just jump backwards eat a hit and try to regain my footing there…But that seems sloppy. Should my standard reaction to that crossup be dash forward with poison?

If they have meter try to end block strings with fireball as there is alot of push back from Aeolus Edge…however with that wonky reversal system i dont think its fool proof…

and against jabs to cross up, you have options…you just need to read the jump. jump back fierce works for most characters universally, you could dash forward if its a slow or high jump arc like Guy’s, but doing :mk: KBG when you think they will hit you is what I do to get out the situation( basically I abuse the strike invulnerability). heck if even back dashing works because then you can set up a good Anti-Air at that point( you know Cr. :hp: or in this situation :hp: Aeolus Edge as they would fall ontop of it). you got things you can do…but for more character specific stuff…we are learning as the days go by…

Thanks, do you think Cr. :hp: is the most reliable AA? I usually use standing MP

This is weird… this is starting to look like MK. I think I’ll test punishes next.

I’m confused I’ve exed on reaction to the Reversal cross art, but that’s invalid?

Wait, exed as in did a EX reversal on top of their reversal and beat them?

Apparently its a glitch/bug but people are saying it was intended…the timing is like 1-2 frames but it can happen…so it leads me to believe this Jamp…Reversals reduce your blockstun and for some odd reason reduce the necessary startup frames for a special move, super art or cross art to become active…

what the hell did we stumble upon?

I think its more spacing dependent, far :mp: is best if your far away and you see the jump in…say after they jump over your :lp: Aeolus edge…while Cr. :hp: works better if your closer and or if they try to do a jump readable jump in…it trades if done to late but better then getting stuffed out completely…also i always buffer :mk: LMT afterwards because if they get hit AA on counter hit…it combos, if its a normal hit…you force them into a frame trap if they dont back dash…i do it to keep pressure up.

LMT works with both Cr. HP and S. MP as a followup?

Also tested SRK vs first hit of whip, it’s not safe unless you push him far enough away that he hits you late.

:mk: LMT will reach with any AA you use, and what SRK? because Ken’s :hp: SRK seems to catch anything o_O (that move is so derpy)

I was testing Ryu’s LP SRK, lp lp c.mk xx whip was safe but if i took out any lps it hit me.

Only on jab though. Poison was all like:

“Screw your move I’m doing EX!” maybe it was spacing dependent even though Balrog has some range on him

you know Rog’s jabs are slow now(4 frames) lolz so thats a feat in its self, so my theory is getting stronger…anyways want to ask this now in to i mite get a answer when i wake up…

I kind of wrote Poison off after the game first came out. Playing against my brother’s kazuya and some online matches, I just didn’t think she had any hope at all. Played about 20 matches w/ her today just because I wanted to give her another change, I am glad I did, Changed my opinion completely. She is kind of a jack of all trades but master of none. She can zone ok, but not the best and she can rush ok, but not the best. Once I started implementing both strats into each match, and using them both at the proper times she not only became a ton of fun to play but was decently powerful.

I don’t all of a sudden think she is the best but I now think that she is pretty good. The fact the her “charge” move is a fireball also helps.

Something really, really weird, that’s for sure. I can’t believe this is intended, reversals cancelling blockstun and making 9f moves punish -3 moves? Really?

I’m gonna test more today. It sounds like a guard break glitch or something.

Yeah well my AA was fine more or less cause I almost always catch with Air MP, But I’m going to start using S. MP to LMT afterwards and to jump less ( I hate having to jump to AA ) It was the crossup that was driving me nuts but Back air HP seems to work!
