Yes, the first rekka of WoL is -3 on block, but it’s safe to almost everything due to pushback. Only moves that I know that can beat it are Julia’s and Ken’s SAs which are 2f startup supers. Seems like Ken’s HP DP also punishes it, at least going with what the Ken forums were saying.
Rekka is -3 on block, I’ll advise not to press any buttons afterwards, you could DP to scare them to not press anything.
HP Aeolus could be used as an AA but it would be better to use KBG or cr.hp, but HP Aeolus is a really good in the corner, HP Aeolus is 0 on block and HP Aeolus on block followed by cr.lp is a nice trap (<-- heehee), and it’s an easy confirm into cr.mk or > cr.lp > cr.mk xx hp rekka or just cr.mk xx mp fireball if you want to keep them in the corner where Poison really excels. It can also catch them pressing buttons if you cancel into it, it’s a really nice tool in the corner.
HP Aeolus is good for trapping people that like to press buttons after blockstrings in case you want to try frame trapping or grabbing them.
You do a blockstring into it and you’re pretty much safe unless they mash something with invincibility. If they press buttons or try jumping they might get tagged by the HP Aeolus since it takes a moment to actually hit them. It’s a “pixel trap” of sorts.

but when you do c.Mk xx Rekka (i’m pretty much always OSing c.Mkxx Rekka) the FUCKIN REKKA WHIFFS!
That shit is really bothering me right now, so if i hit them with max range c.MK i cant get anything aside from a chained sweep; which is not-hitconfirmable and unsafe as fuck?

when you’re fighting a Gief its whiffs all the freakin time coz thats the range outside of his pokes so i was raging nonstop last night lol.
Her super art, cross art and s.hk are also good anti airs. Just gotta watch the spacing, timing and meter.
The common anti airs are s.mp, c.hp, lk/mk/ex kgb.
rook, that test is a bit off. Take Ryu for example, the only way Poison will be punished by a reversal DP is if she’s nearly point blank when she starts your blockstring, but at that range you can do a third c.LP and be safe from everything. Same goes for Ken, do 3 LPs before the MK then reversal HP DP gets blocked.
every test was taken point blank range to test frames, realisticly alot of the punishes wont happen in a actual match however somethings like supers like Ryu’s Super Art is going to hit regardless…its like Command throws can punish if you don’t backdash ect. so there is alot more to it, but these are a list of things that can “potentially” punish you…its not like…its going to happen often…unless its Ken’s SRK…that will punish damn near most of the time…
Edit: Poison’s Super actually punishes it at max cr. :mk: range…the timing is like the first 1-2 frames you can activate a reversal from blockstun, your able to punish with it…any later will make it blockable. this is the same for all the cross arts, most have the range to punish so that’s not the issue its the timing of the reversal so…bare that in mind.
most block strings will either end with a 3rd cr. :lp: or cr. :mk: to WoL first stage and it’s still punishable…worse off if you have gaps in between…I used King’s super as a benchmark to test all my block strings…all of them ending with WoL are punishable…to avoid being punished ending blockstrings in :lp: or :mp:(if close enough) Aeolus edge is Far safer… :hp: Aeolus Edge can actually get you messed up if they throw out a move that is invulnerable to projectiles(There are ALOT of those) so i think im kinda on the mark…
I see. I’ll take your list and I’ll try looking for guaranteed punishes for the first Rekka, even at optimal pushback.
I been going alright online with posion/lili. Im been improving alot with reaction time, mix ups and hit conforms. So far most of the times when I lose is cause idk how to handle a character. I keep losing to kazuya. When when he is so obvious with ether jumping or combos. Idk how to deal with him.
EDIT- Nevermind, I give up. The reversal window is gimmicky as fuck in this game, some things punish her even though the frame data would say it’s impossible.
Rule of thumb, just don’t use a blocked Rekka against characters with two or more stocks sigh
this is what i did…rec. the dummy doing the link cr. lp 2x , cr. mk > rekka then hold downback for 2 seconds after completion.
I got Cross arts and supers to hit…from reversal on the rekka because it seems reversals cancel the block stun. i’ll try it using different methods.
