I really, REALLY suck at rekkas. However I just read on the SRK SFxTK guide for Poison that you can just mash punch instead of doing qcb+p!?
Is this true? If so it’ll make my life so much easier.
actually no, its like this…
you can short cut the command on the first rekka by inputting :p: between frames 1-10 to go to the next rekka, the third and EX forth rep you need to input :qcb: + :p:
i sometimes get the second rep by mistake sometimes because of that…and the second rep is really punishable so be careful.
this was put up in the frame data thread i made so you can check that out for specific info~
I just keep doing a full circle motion with the stick and tapping the buttons and it seems to work for me.
you finally get that link down?
Yep, thanks! The metronome link provided really helped.
Thats good, what team are you using now and combo you have came up with?
Im trying to get something going after Poison’s :mk: KBG with Jin and a few others…it seems the juggle points after it is rather low so i gotta think about what moves i should use…
Have been mixing it up with Poison(point) and either Chun, Nina or Lili in the back. Still only doing basic combos as I haven’t had a lot of time to play (I can only play on weekends at the moment because I’m in final year in Uni and have a lot of assignments due >_<)
I wouldn’t be able to help you on that, I’m afraid. Although I understand the basics such as poking etc, I’m still a complete beginner to this game and fighting games in general which is both good and bad, imo. ETA: Haha, I suppose it doesn’t help that I’m not very competitive at all and just the fact I can use my favourite characters together is a plus!
oh i get ya~ i was just seeing if you were coming up with new and creative stuff…Im testing a few things out with Lili now…now that i know you can combo off :mk: KBG im seeing all the possibilities now, and with Lili…its amazing to say the least. Lili is such a combo beast…
That’s great to hear. I was also playing around with different grips and find the one that KayoPolice is most comfortable for me.

Saw Wolfkrone play Poison today and made me see the light. I really like her as a point character, and I’ve been trying to find a good partner for Lili. Do you guys see this being an ok team?
If thats what you want to do~ more power to ya? umm there is nothing wrong with the team…go for it~
though im liking this Jin/Poison team…Lili/Poison is great too…but i think im going to further explore Poison/Cammy so Idk…I’m indecisive so i play alot of teams…
Chris Hu did really well with them in a stream a while ago, got to grand Finals but had problems with a Zangief.

I’d also suggest checking out the archive of Big Two #17
Cool, I’m going to try this team out then. My only fault I guess is keeping pressure on and execution, so I’ve been having a hard time with Lili. But I guess that’s all easily remedied.
Any other poison players having bad luck on ranked? i don’t know if it’s the characters i fight or the players i fight
Ranked is filled with nothing but retards, dont go in there…
I only go there to piss people off as I play Vega/Kuro. Roll tag cancelled into Kuro infinite till they ragequit.
I just got to C rank with Poison / Hugo, at first I couldn’t because I kept falling for things I’ve never seen like tekken mixups or zoning techniques. But I learned how to defend against some of those by replaying the same people in endless, while employing my own misconceptions. For instance, after a sweep with HK I cancel into HP aeolus edge, which can;t hit them on wakeup, but everyone in D rank seems to think it does so they block, I walk up and grab.
But my goal with poison isn’t really to do damage, I get them to 75%-65% health , build enough meter for a super art and land a boost combo into Hugo then they are about 50% and have to deal with an upclose hugo, and I can be really hard to get away from, even if they escape I charge monster lariat to pursue, they jump? I hit them with it. if they block, i either let it go or let it run out into moonsault. If i let it go i’m still right next to a 50% character in a corner and if you intimidate them enough they make mistakes. If I mess up enough though I switch back to Poison let Hugo heal and start punishing with EX LMT and M KBG. Anyway this works for now, but I know a lot of these strategies won’t work as people get better.
You should hear my friend/tag partner laugh when I fully charge lariat into gigas breaker and catch a switch or a jump, or anything but a block or counter super.
After watching the match with ChrisG vs Chris Hu, first shout outs to Chris Hu…but that announcing was rather off(not Spooky)…getting past that. the match was really something to analyze. you can see Chris Hu nailing those links and knew what to do, its just that he didn’t know how to deal the ChrisG’s mixups from the Switch Cancel and those are what did the most damage to his game. Chris Hu also used Boost combos very effectively, and his spacing was good too, he was fishing for alot of air to air’s in the beginning with neutral jump :mp: , I guess there is some tech with it.
anyways, im going to update the synergy thread today…
No. my problem is that ranked is full of
Know nothings: totally unarware of what the game truly offers
Mashers: These guys just have to have a word in on something often running brittle characters or using moves with tons of recovery
Robots: People thatauto pilot and do nothing but the same combo starter not very self aware.
Mirrors: Those guys that use your character but does it completely different and often times unsuccessfull
The mainstream warrior: Only has knowledge on the popular character match ups, when faced with Poison gameplay, tends to overheat and derp it up. has a symptom of but is not diagnosted as a…
…Low blocker: They low block till they die, which is often very fast when they get hit by EX llmt and mid hits all day.
And the only one I look to play is…
…That one good guy- Pro player very knowledgeable stomps on your face if you let them.
I don’t play ranked really…out of 60 matches i lost 20 and those were from players who knew the match up/used and abused divekicks or EWGF so i can’t be mad about that.
This is a new game so there is going to be alot of people online with a wide range of skill level, some people play for fun, others don’t, but from my experience Endless battle is still where its at…
Sometimes not even in endless are there good matches, lol.
