I’ve noticed in block strings it’s really good to use Love Me Tender as a way to stay on them. From there you can play your mixup game. confirm it into combo go into a block string if blocked.
Also, I’ve been working with charge canceling her in normal blockstrings too. it’s a nice way to mix it up after finishing a few blockstrings with L aeolus edge to just go for the charge cancel and get someone to flinch. She has a pretty good three way option from there. Overhead, throw, low lk.
But from what I noticed, the ultimate goal with her is to get in the corner. that’s where all her big damage combos and H aeolus edge trap stuff begins. Really loving this character though
just entered a lobby where i had to fight some guy using guile/ryu and i was using poison/zangief he kept whining about me backing away and using projectiles to try to keep some distance between him and poison then when he beat me…he just took it too far and said take that you tranny loving B(Word)! seriously?!..i figured I’d run into some jerks but not so early in the morning
and get this when i beat his friend they’re like oh OG’s gotta see this!(i assume he’s one of they’re friends)and i left the room soon after but now they keep sending me invites back to the room…what the hell?
Yeah, I wish they’d just dump f+mp out. Her s.mp is an alright poke, but when you’re doing the mid-range “poke” dance, it’ll come out and you’re gonna eat something.
Ex LMT is the shit though. I try to conserve all meter for it. In fireball wars, as soon as you get a bar, you’re deadly. You’ll fly over to them and likely be near the corner for a combo. It’s also the only overhead version while poking around.
Being the case, I’m still messing around with partners. Since Poison does so well at long range chains into launch, you really want a heavy hitting partner.
-Cammy: I mained her in Super, so I know what I’m doing, but she honestly just feels meh. So far, the most damaging exchange I can get is her corner s.hp, s.hp, s.mpxxsrk. She also likes to use meter, just like Poison.
-Vega: He is so stupid fun in this game. Unfortunately, he uses so much meter to do his crap, it’s like Viper in MvC3.
-Juri: If you wanna play two of the same, there ya go.
I’ve been experimenting with the Tekken cast. I’m liking Nina and Kuma.Nina feels like Sakura to me (one of my mains). Same combos, same jab pressure strings, it just feels good. The bear just cracks me up… Apparently it has a pretty godlike AA normal too, so I may have to mess around there cause I hate the high reward jumping in this game.
In all honesty, for a partner though: King or Hugo are probably your best bet. They play differently and deal heavy damage off an exchange.
Nini said in the balance thread that you can hop over fireballs with Elbow Drop, at least we can use it to troll fireball users - with EX LMT why else would we use it? .
Also I really, really like her c.:mp: for poking. It has more range than her c.:mk:. Though I’d advise to never buffer it into WoL at long range, it’ll whiff quite often. Better buffer it into her fireball or LMT for some shenanigans.
i got a couple of her titles and jeez i can’t see myself using any of them due to the fact that it would really send the wrong message…the only title of hers i could actually use without seeming weird would be Strong Minded and that’s a pretty crappy title
What is it with female characters usually having titles that only make sense if you are a female gamer…i get the idea but some guys out there play as them and i don’t think any of them would like to be classified as A Pink Lady or something like Sweet And Sassy…

the one that i get hit out of every single time i use it when the opponent isn’t using a fireball and i get hit with it by about every fireball but guiles and sagats low one? cool.
ex lmt is cool and all, but i like to have her build meter for her partner not use a 3rd of it to go over 1 fireball.

I read alot of the tech thats been posted, and its some pretty awesome stuff, still i can’t hit the Cr. :lp: to :mk: link for the life of me…I need to really practice it, but i really been using the corner combo Cr. :hp: , :hp: Aeolus Edge, Cr. :mk: , :hp: WoL. i think its easier to hit then the link from Cr. :lp:
i really have been fiddling around with gems, because i of the thread im suppose to manage >_>’ but here is the niffy well known thing. since WoL counts as 3 individual special moves so it adds to the count for the condition(land 3/4 special moves) and as you guess it, thats what gems i’ve been experimenting with so far, it seems i can get all 3 activated consistantly after a cross rush or after a poke with Cr. :mk: into WoL. it should be noted EX versions do add to the count. the boost i get are significant 30% in power and 40% in meter gain, and its dumbass easy to activate. so im really feeling this set.
For my alternate gem setup i have the power, defense and speed gem that all activate when you block 5 times. start off zoning, get closer, and punish punish punish. it’s not a huge damage increase or a huge increase in any of the three areas but it all counts.
I find cr :lp: cr :mk: right too. i just go straight for the cr :mk: > whip of love because it has decent distance. but then again im a sub “optimal” combo kinda guy. (mainly just not a fan of links in anyway, shape or form)

thanks , i’ll get mines in a few minutes…but when i finally get to writing more in the gem thread you could be interested in some “Gem Combos” because lets face it, when you can do 400+ damage from a simple Bnb and get all the conditions to activate after cross rush…and launcher isn’t even in the activation condition, you know thats some cool stuff. imo, Rolento and Poison can Abuse the land 3 special move gems…to full effect.
