Whip it, whip it good - The Poison GD Thread

it was, i experienced the same thing at the fightclub but people like R-D doubted me so its w/e…

wait…7 hours and 30 minutes? that is during ortiz vs tasty steve, aka rufus/poison vs heihachi/king. no ken…
Did you give the wrong link? or am i just retarded

Im wrong its 7:11:30 sorry

No big deal. Thanks for the link, interesting observation.

Also, sometimes it looks like her leap kick special seems advantage on block…that might just be the players fucking up, though.

Thanks for the link. It was nice to see extended Poison gameplay. I really like the tweaked fireball special effects (i haven’t seen poison gameplay in a while).

honestly i believe its a glitch…because it happened to me on a few different occasions…the first was from a mid-screen fireball war, the second was when i did a fireball from close range and it passed through a fireball, i did :hp: Aeolus Edge but it went through the fireball, so it was rather odd, at first i thought it had more fireball durability but then i figured out it was a collision detection problem because all normal version seem to class when they hit properly with other projectiles. even her super has normal fireball durability…as it gets canceled out by other projectiles and easily loses to Ryu’s ShinkuHadouken.

its still good that she can combo with it, in and out of it. lolz…its like bad stone, but abit better…except without all dat hitstun and Chip damage. add the Final Fight Characters are Dirty, Cheating, Lovable Characters~

Will Poison be one of the characters people choose to win tournaments (Evo not Gamestop)? From what I’ve seen on the streams so far it doesn’t seem like it.

<----- This guy will probably be rocking Poison at Evo.

In all seriousness, I think it’s a bit too early to tell who we’ll see at majors yet. If Ricky Ortiz sticks with her, I predict we’ll see more people give her a try, and get at least a pretty solid showing from Poison.

Yeah, it’s too soon to be looking at tournament viability. But she certainly has the tools to be competitive.

pretty much, everything is there, but we’ll figure everything out when the game as been in the wild for sometime…don’t want to pull a SCV and call tiers on day -3 and be hella wrong…lolz. but i just don’t want people dick riding her if she does win a major, look what happened when that dude(forgets his name atm~) when he won with Rose, or when Gamerbee got top 8 at EVO…that kind of stuff…oh well i guess any usage is good right?

Nah, she’s female - erm, she’s female looking at least, no matter how you see her  - so I doubt we’ll be seeing too many Poison dick riders - should we call them <insert preferred genitals here> riders? - if someone wins something with her.

oh right…shit my bad jamp, umm we gotta think of some witty phrase we can say to people jumping on the Poison band wagon…which seems more apparent of late…as i remember earlier people saying she sucked, ect. imagine how things change~

How about we welcome them with open arms into the Poison player community? :stuck_out_tongue:

shurgs i honestly done care really either way~ considering i know alot of players are going to just mess with her for the sake of so called “trolling” anyways so its kinda at a mute point. you have people who take her as a serious characters and people who do the exact opposite, so its w/e…but still i would want a catchy phrase for that tho…its bound to happen…

I plan to take her very seriously**.** She is trans* and even if some believes she’s a transvestite, calling her with female pronouns is only respectful. Unfortunately, I can see how some people will only use her for trolling purposes. (Sorry if this is ranting but I take LGBT* issues seriously)

Do gems have that much impact on a character? If so, I’m liking it more and more as it should increase variety of gameplay and individuality with characters depending on teams giving it a better replay value. Am so hyped for this release, trying to get all my assignments out of the way asap

I’m also on PSN, however I’m in Europe but would love to get in on some matches during the weekend (9th-11th) if only just to watch.

That’s why I’m playing her too, it makes me incredibly happy to not only see a transwoman that’s not portrayed as a walking punchline but as a positive role model, but I actually get to play as her too.

Back to gameplay concerns, I’m planning on playing Vega/Poison, since Vega is my Street Fighter main, but I’ve been hearing people say that both of them are more battery characters than anchors. Any thoughts on which one should come first and which one second, or do I have to drop Vega for a higher damage anchor?

i am so with you in love for transgender portrayal especially seeing as how it kind of relates to me

but if you want to use vega/poison you should go for it, however I wouldn’t do it just because damage may be a problem, there weaknesses and strengths seems to overlap so i’m sure you could start either or however i’d probably start claw or just do it matchup specific
does anyone know if you can hold buttons down during the vs. screen to change order?!?!

Alright so we’ve got 6 days left to figure this out. Who wants to host the PSN endless room?

I said i would but it would be around 5pm eastern next tuesday. I need the names of about 7 members who want to enter the room.

I was one of the ones who wanted to join but could always give up my spot and play with you guys later.

As someone who has had plans to play both Vega and Poison with Vega being my SF main for like 12 years and have watch as much as I could about both’s gameplay…I think they make a bad team in my head. They have too many similar strengths and don’t really compliment each other imo. They would look fantastic together and who knows for sure you maybe able to make it work eventually but I wouldn’t bank on it a smart player could use the same strategy to beat both members of your team.

I’m pairing both up with people who at least have different abilities to keep my opponents on their toes. I think this will get me many victories until I settle in with more of the cast. I think having one team with two characters being very similar is a big disadvantage imo.
