Nah that’s all I wanted, I skipped out on getting the guide because as everyone else, I expect the pretty much everything about the book to be online within a few days of release.

My phone is awesome so I’ll just bookmark the info then check it. Guides are just useless nowadays they are outdated like blockbuster or betamax. Unless you don’t have the internet or have a REALLY BAD ONE I don’t get it.

Im getting a new phone around the same time the game drops (Samsung Infuse 4G) so i’ll be in the loop, but until then, i still rather have the info in my hands, and yeah i use post it notes in my Marvel guide so its w/e and all my friends ask for the book when i come over, so I know people who would want to use it. Its a decent investment for me.
btw, i got MK9 for $15 at blockbuster in perfect condition…just a 6 month wait…i think thats worth it.

Of course they would use it if you bring it FOR THEM lol. Or you have it anyway of course they would. I’m not gonna discourage you since you seem to swear by it but I’m just throwing out the fact that by and large guides are useless and few things get my craw like a kid or even a man or woman saying he could have got a another game they wanted but “had” to get the guide for one in case there is something like frame data that is important.
It’s like…use your phone…it’s better than mine…you could have had both just not in ink. Doesn’t matter has anybody come up with any new ways to use Poison’s rekkas? Or is it still just at the end of combos still?
well i play RPG’s so having stacks of guides is the norm for me…
but thats generally it for now, unless desk has figured out something we didn’t doubtful as he don’t even have the game yet but yeah…i mean its solid for just that reason. its still her best switch cancel atm, and main combo extender…when i think about it i just think about how limited she seems right now…but i think there are other options we don’t know yet…
Oh well I’m good with her so far. I love her simple but effective offense, that could be partly because I plan to play Hwoarang and Jin who both have a TON of stuff to remember and master to maximize them including stances and a bunch of target combos that serve different purposes.
I wish Cody was in so I could take my time and learn them gradually but him being DLC I’ll have to try to pair one with poison and learn as I play. The only worry I have about her being simple is that it increases the chances that a bunch of crap players pick her up and pair her with Ryu or Ken to troll or get easy wins against other bad players. Then overtake this thread asking dumb questions and starting shit messing up our peace. Other than that I like her because it helps her mass appeal and chances of being in more games if she’s different and easy to use.
Same reason I love how Cody became really popular even tho most people I saw only wanted Guy.
im not really mad that shes simple, gezz Cody is simple (dirty, shady, and does hella damage) but still simple…but in the end, sometimes thats what matters. Don’t worry, you can’t get free wins with Poison…people tried at the fight club…it was ugly. me and this other guy were the only players doing anything with her because we actually knew more then fireball and SRK…sad to say but thats how it was.
but yeah there are tons of characters with learning curves~ so to each their own…everyone has a character or two they want to play or at least try in SFxTK.
I would initially imagine that damage gems would compliment her well, since she seems pretty solid in just about every other area. I’ll probably try 2 damage gems and 1 fortitude to start, but that will be dependent on how Poison and her partner interact.
Also, is anyone else going to be on 360 for a Day 1 Poison room? It seems like everyone is on PS3 but me…
Aside from that she’ll likely not be on my main team, I’ll be starting day 3 or 4 both due to midterms and that the Newegg delivery said about three days.
I’d be up for it if someone makes a room for the 360.
If nobody makes one on launch day, I’ll be the one to do it. I’ll post a note if I do.
Also, here’s something different for the adults in the thread: Anyone remember the Marvel vs Capcom cocktail list? Well, I became inspired last year, and I threw a cocktail party for my birthday, making many of these and other Fighting-related drinks. Since I knew Poison was on the way for SFxT, I decided to go through what I had in my bar and made a Poison themed cocktail together just for fun. I dug up the old list I made, and this is what I came up with:

2 oz. Vodka
***1.5 oz Campari herbal liqueur ***
1.5 oz Watermelon cocktail mix
Splash of Grenedine
2 cherries (as desired)
Shake ingredients over ice and pour into a cocktail glass. Add cherries to taste and serve.
It looks super feminine, but the alcohol content and the flavor of the Campari give the drink a bit more than you might expect at first. Some people may prefer the cherries, others may not, but the drink is still good either way.

Poison is almost a guaranteed at this stage to be on my team and I see the first few hours are gonna be in training mode looking for synergy with Nina/Chun/Xiaoyu/Julia/Cammy. Looking forward to it

At 7:30:00 did anyone else notice poison’s fireball went through ken’s fireball basically Mortal Kombat style.
