i think people won’t be able to tech roll away from poison when she has ex because she can os them with LMT

Yeah i was rather impressed by what the CPU displayed, and alittle bewildered…because if the AI is like that then I mite actually like playing CPU versus mode in this game…that was more inspiring then anything else. Still i think the thing we should try to take away from that video was…

1: Love me Tender isn’t a terrible move, far from it, however it isn’t necessarily easy to use.
2: Daigo and Tokido didn’t know how to fight Poison(lolz).
3:Gimmicks =/= a bad thing.

there were two things i wanted to add to my last post before SRK got all wonky, and that was…

EX love me tender may(may not) have fireball invulnerability, but it is a overhead and has faster startup(oddly enough after watching the video in 1/4 speed, it shows that EX moves can be imputed during the tail end of hit stun as the CPU does this after getting hit by Daigo’s first fireball then punishes the second one) the next thing was Jamp mentioned that Ryu was trying to punish with a certain normal. This is a repeat of the scenario, Poison put Ryu into block stun with Cr.MK then special canceled it into LK Love me Tender, Ryu did Cr. MK on reaction but Poison was already airborne and was hit with a counter hit Love me Tender. you should watch it again as Ryu’s Fortitude gem activated during that move as well preventing him for taking alot of damage. Love me tender in general does alot of damage if the throw connects, the move it self can be used as a tool into scaring your opponent, training them to block a certain way…though thats my hunch…take it as a grain of salt.

We can also take away that Whip of Love cannot be used to end air juggles, so we’ll either need Love me Tender or her DP to end them.

LMT with the follow-up probably does more damage, not to mention it leaves you in a better position for oki.

Ending combos with her DP will likely be more usefull if you want to tag cancel it and keep the combo going.

Roundhouse Kiss by a Goddess would be best i would suppose, if your going to use it in a combo(like Cody’s Criminal Upper). The only thing im skeptical about using Love me tender in combos is…the start up, like i mentioned before it…it isnt a problem if the opponent is juggled rather high as a short/LK version of it will always hit. however comboing it off of EX Whip of Love maybe a bit different as Cr. Forward and Strong are what we seen are used to connect after said move. so they maybe too low for it to connect, however if i see it work then im a firm believer in it.

That will depend on how far we can extend her own juggles. We know she can do c.MP or MK after a EX WoL, but if we could link a standing normal like cl.MP it would probably work.

I need this game ASAP. I’ve never been so eager to hit the lab.

i know what you mean, If you can hit close st. Strong/MP then you can get Love me tender, maybe off Cr. Fierce too.

Unfortunately I couldn’t find any Poison gameplay at all from the streams I watched. I did see quite a bit of extended combos though with combos going well into the 300s for no meter, so if Poison’s on point it might be best for her to just go into a cross rush and let her teammate deal the damage that she can’t.

Also @ Jamp: I think the DP may be a better ender against certain characters. I don’t know about you guys, but I’d rather have characters like Kazuya/Hugo/Gief/Heihachi as far away from me as possible, and I think the DP is better for that purpose.

well like when i talk to some people about Gems, damage is damage, love me tender does as much as hugo’s moonsault press…so its worth it most of the time, Roundhouse DP does a nice chunk of damage too tho, and for playing the lame game it works, however you can just back dash or command flip away after love me tender too~ so its however you want to play it.

but like Jamp was saying DP into a tag cancel/switch cancel…whatever, is another option to have at your disposal.

This just crossed my mind guys…St. Mp, Cr. Mp, EX whip of love(at the start of Whip of love Tag Cancel) Super Charge to Lv.3 Super…

That’s true rook, but I don’t think we can say how meter dependant Poison really is right now. Maybe it’s because I play Juri and Rose in AE2012 and almost always have meter to spend on whatever I need it on but I’d rather take any meterless options she has over what she has that may take meter.

yeah, we only get 3 EX moves at any given time now instead of being spoiled with 4 in SFIV…

but i think looking at it this way may help us out alittle~

EX Whip of love is her main source of damage out side of pokes, footsies and zoning. This also is her only way to extend her combos at this time.
EX Aeolus Edge(fireball) is like any other generic EX fireball and should be used as such…however i think its the least useful EX out of her 4 special moves.
EX Kiss by a Goddess is invulnerable on startup and does more damage then her Roundhouse version, I can be used as a wake up option among other things, its one of her better EX moves.
EX Love me Tender is the best version of said move as it gives to it a overhead property and tracking, if done in response to a fireball, it can go over it(proper spacing is required). Poison’s strongest special move in general, so this is her best tool during her high low pressure game.

to me, i would keep 1 bar of meter on deck for Poison for 3 different reasons, building a block of meter back shouldn’t be too hard for her either but shes alot less scary with no meter at all…

Edit: I’m going to try to do this day 1 myself but, I want to see if you can connect her overhead from EX Whip of Love as I’m sure it’ll keep its groundbounce property, this is a surefire way to extend her combos. It beats fishing for a counter hit, that’s for sure.

aside from that she has no other command normals or target combo’s, that and none of her other moves give wallbounce or groundbounce properties that we know of either, so her combo’s are going to seem rather basic for the time being, I’m fine with this…as I want to try out afew tekken characters and they maybe harder to use…so im trying to find a good balance with that.

poison has a projectile (a slow one at that), a ‘dp’, a move that goes over projectiles (and an ex version that goes over projs AND tracks), a 3-hit rekka special, an invincible command backflip, and a command overhead…can’t hate on a character AT ALL with those tools. coughevenif’she’hastuckedbodypartscough

I can’t sadly. I have to take this test to graduate next year. I hate tests like these i really do. It just says “Oh it doesn’t matter how well you did up to here. You fail this you no graduate.” On the good note i’m basically done with HS after this test XD Lots of free time…

When i get home i’ll do some practice mode with poison and unlock stuff.

Kinda sounds like the MCAS…You don’t pass this you can’t graduate high school.that was 4 years ago. Good thing I passed it with flying colors lol.
