Which is the best battery character in mvc3?

Morrigan meter assist is the by far the best from my limited experience. I play her entirely for the assist on my phoenix team and I’ve reached 5 levels in the first 20 seconds in probably every game I’ve played with that team except for a few where phoenix got snapped in and killed early. This has happened only 2 or 3 times in total so far cause I play super lame.

Good stuff. How does this apply to blocked normals/specials? Same meter as damage on hit?

Zero’s meter gain is ridiculous while you have assists (which you’ll have if he’s your “battery”.) You lose one Raitousen if you don’t have a long lasting assist like Dante’s Jam session or Amaterasu’s Cold Star, but he still builds 2 meter without them easily. He’s low health though so you won’t get much meter from him getting killed.

Dante can do anything :stuck_out_tongue:

My fallback batteries are Wolverine and X-23, although I wouldn’t necessarily suggest X-23 on a Phoenix team since X-23’s hp isn’t high enough to compliment Phoenix.

If you’re good enough with him, I’ve found that Joe can be excellent battery, particularly when he plays defensively.

Thor and Mighty Speech.

PS: Yes, I try to use Mighty Speech on my battles if I can. Mostly for fun, though, since it’s pretty hard to get away with it. Usually I get my ass kicked, but I’ve manage to get a few bars out of a last-char-fearing-for-fatal-chip-damage Wolverine. That was pretty funny. =p

I wanna say Chris, Mag. or Wesker, but I don’t play with too many characters

Building meter is not enough. You must have “get off of me” tools or else you’ll eat snaps all day.

if i have a spidey ironman and skrull team, does that build enough constant meter? i wanna try the potential of the not mentioned meter gainers

Taskmaster is exceptional at building gauge while having an incredibly solid gameplan. His damage output without meter is very high, his chip is high, and his health is high so even when things go badly he still generates a ridiculous amount of meter.

thor,dr doom and wesker

Gee, you think?

Oh and I know you guys enjoy a lot of theory fighting here, but really the most practical way to build meter is to mix-up (not be predictable) when you connect “Left/Right/Down + S” in your aerial exchanges.

You can argue all you want, but this is the best way to build meter.

This may sound really stupid, but Joe is an awesome battery. Not exactly for his moves, but his ability to set up air combos. That’s 1 or 2 bars right there. If meter is your primary concern, you may need another battery, but Joe can have some interesting air combo setups.

Wesker… basic ABC combos give him the corner AND nearly a bar, stupid simple execution to gain meter as well. has God-tier mixup in the corner especially with a beam assist. quietly very mobile as well… Can take a beating as well
Cons- Characters that can move under his gunshot can really limit his mobility, Hates Drones(assists) and Dogs (in general)

Magneto… The attack of the Killer C’s, Long hard hitting combos, absurd mixup options in the corner, nice reset game, very mobile
Biggest Con-low life(850K), high execution requirement

Taskmaster, a solid character overall, good mixup options and hits HARD (lol using meter combos going for 75+% on BnBs) can do everything fairly well, Can Take a Punch(1mil health)
Cons- no 4 frame normal I guess?

Doom, Wonky at first but really solid. Understatedly mobile, hits like a truck, Nasty corner mixup\combo game. can ToD any character in the game. Can take a punch (1mil health)
Cons-extremely high execution barrier

Too bad Cammy isn’t in MVC3, she has Killer Bs

Arthur is a pretty good battery from what I’ve seen.

Task with the right assist can build minimum 2 meters and kill a good chunk of the cast with only using one of the built up meters

I use Storm as my point/battery character, because even without her Hypers, she can do good damage.

wesker, task, mag, or maybe zero

dude, storm does shit damage without meter, well actually with meter too unless you are dhc glitching
