My pleasure. I saw there was no info for it so I thought I’d drop a line
Also: the BROKEN MvC2 cab is going for $600. It’s a Q-Audio one, I don’t know if that justifies needing a brand new stick and plexi though. Keep in mind the prices usually go way down the closer to Christmas it gets, and usually even lower than that past the new year.
I believe the X-Men vs. Street Fighter cab went for $450 a couple years back, and that cab was in awesome shape at the time.
A new arcade opened up on the UW Ave in the new Pink Gorilla store (formerly Pink Godzilla due to legal issues). Not sure what fighting games they have, but someone should definitely go check it out. Maybe put in a good word for a Marvel cabinet or CVS2 machine (I like that game :P).
Yes, the only fighting game they have is Soul Edge. I can’t remember what kind of parts the cab has, I’ve never played on it.
Other than that, they have Joust 2, Super Pac-Man, Asteroids, Willow, and a few others I can’t remember.
It’s a nice store with a decent collection of imports and rare games, but yeah, not much of an arcade unless you’re really into the Golden Age era games.
The South Hill Mall arcade lost CvS2 again, I think this time for good as they moved things around and there doesn’t seem to be a place for it if it comes back.
I was playing Marvel at Gameworks a few weeks ago, it’s not broken. Though there is NO scene there. Why?
they were getting away with “PInk Godzilla” until they came out with the card game and that started being sold in card shops nation wide. Toho is REALLY protective of their trademarks and they were only I think 5 months away from being past the time frame Toho would be able to force them to change. At least that’s what Kristian told me at PAX.
also great wall mall lost all it’s fighters. DDR, lots of light gun games, and a NeoGeo with MS4.
I work at the Vancouver Mall Tilt and I can add some info on what we have so if the OP is still here he can add it to the first post.
We have Soul Calibur 2, MvC1, MvC2, CvS1, SvC Chaos, Samurai Showdown 4, Rage of the Dragons, and Tekken 5 DR.
Soul Calibur, MvC2, SvC Chaos, and CvS1 are on the showcase cabs, others are smaller size.
I keep the sticks/buttons working on everything that I can, but tekken has problems with the card readers, and the buttons on samurai showdown are spaced kinda far apart. Overall, though, I like to make sure the games look good They all have comp buttons and happ ultimate joysticks cept for tekken of course.
However, we don’t have many different patrons here. CvS Chaos gets played a ton, and is my personal favorite there’s a couple damn good guys that play, and I’m not bad either, and a half dozen newbies that play almost daily. MvC only has 1 or 2 good players on it, but they don’t come often. Other games get little attention, but we gotta start somewhere
I’m in the process of trying to get melty blood actress again into our CvS cabinet, but I gotta find a place to buy the cartridge.
isnt there a sf4 console arcade machine in the basement of a building at portland state university, i see people play there sometime, its just a console with an arcade board but its free and easy to access
There is an MVS cab in the Godfathers Pizza that is next to the Bethany QFC in Beaverton. It currently has Fatal Fury 3, MoW, and Aero Fighters 2. Happ sticks and Seimitsu buttons.
I hear there’s a new place in Burien. Called D-Pad according to the craigslist ads. It’s where that old ice cream building was. Sells retro games and has fighting games. I’m afraid to check it out alone though lol
Hmm and apparently their email address doesn’t exist.
Checked out Pink Gorilla today, and they have made a few arcade changes. They have MvC2, SC2, and a US ST board in a New Astro City cabinet with all sanwa parts. The downside is that they’re all 50 cents and no more CvS2.
