No offense, but virtually every time someone has to tried to break into a new area the prevailing attitude has remained much the same. There was a time when attitudes like this were very racially focused, now things have shifted towards gender.
Logic would dictate you’d all treat each other with dignity. Discrimination itself isn’t logical at all.
This isn’t about censorship or control. It’s about bringing harmony to a place that you have an interest in. I’m not trying to tell you that you don’t have a right to be an ass, I’m saying it’s pointless and self defeating.
And maybe the only reason it’s gone on for so long as because it’s just easier to be an ass along with everyone else. But no one ever said doing the right thing was easy.

I wouldn’t go as far to say I willingly invoke resistance. Humans are creatures of habit, so resistance is expected. And I do believe there is a difference between expecting resistance and purposefully invoking it.
In virtually every instance of injustice I can think of that involved a party discriminating against others, they didn’t just happen to one day decide it was time to give it up. Some kind of pressure from outside the group had to occur, and it was almost always met with some kind of resistance.
As far as the comparison goes, on a fundamental level discrimination is wrong. Obviously some people have suffered more from it than others, but I don’t believe you can justify a situation just because there are worse examples.
That would be like killing someone and then insisting it’s ok because other people have killed far more than you.
And so is casual racism. Nobody making movies about that shit. Just like no one is keeping girls from joining this site. Think of this site as an extension of the hardcore gaming group(because it is) and look at how many females are TRULY interested in it for the content in the way it relates to this community and what all that entails.

I have been just on THIS site for over 12 years. Think about that. That’s not to mention growing up around the scene in Cali or Vegas and meeting the people that made this site, and seeing their passion come alive and evolve into what it is today. There might be a lot of things I might not care for in this community but I still love it and love the idea of the potential that it still holds. Sure it isn’t perfect, especially since it is still in its infancy, having to grow up with this new mass medium that is the internet, but it’s done considering what it deals with and how so much has changed in a short amount of time. I don’t personally blame anyone for how I act, because at the end of the day what I do as an adult man is determined by what comes from within me, not some external force that acts upon me and molds me like some weak willed bowl of jello. No one said anyone had ANYTHING to prove, I just stated that if you want to be a part of this community, and truly want to influence it then act like a part of this community. Like a real part of it, not like these flaky people that come and go because of whatever new fad game comes out. Lol, also bitching and moaning about discrimination? Really? Thats what we do? Yeah we really do spend all of our time with a chip on OUR shoulders waiting for the next available moment to cry about how we have been unjustly treated by society right?
