That doesn’t mean anything really. I mean heck it might’ve just been The End for the SF2 arc or for that particular storyline.
Next week’s another big one for Udon!
On the Capcom side of things Mega Man Megamix 2 (FREAKING FINALLY) and Mega Man ZX vol. 2 drop. :cybot:
From their manga line Big Adventures of Majoko and Ninja Baseball Kyuma wiill be out.
ALSO Udon will release their own Athology book (like Robot or Apple I’d imagine) to commemorate their tenth anniversary. That wiill go for $39.99. Happy Bitrhday Udon!
Due to the Labor Day Holiday books should hit comic book stores next Thursday in the United States. Have a safe and happy Holiday to those who celebrate!
I’m not really a Megman fan, or a Megaman Mega mix fan either, but, whats the story about? Would it be worth it for a non-megafan?
It’s great if you are a Mega Man fan, particularly of the earlier games / classic series. The first book is based on Mega Man 1, 2 and 3. I think the second one will be based on 4, 5 and 6 I believe.
Note that it doesn’t really cover everything that happens in the games. For example Mega Man 3 happens in between two of the stories so that is not depicted in its entirety. There’s some pretty cool non-game stuff like the enemy robots from Mega Man 1 facing off against the enemies from Mega Man 2.
If you are not a Mega Man fan it’s hard to say if you’ll like this series because there’s a lot of tweaks to the original series to make it a tad more realistic, most of which will go right over your head. Especially with the robot designs, abilities and a lot of the enemy bosses having personalities. Still it’s fairly new reader friendly and doesn’t heavily revolve around the games. And there’s TONS of info in the back of the book on how MM works in this world so you won’t be entirely lost.
As the author has said, it’s not really an official adaptation of the games or even tyring to be. If you like anime well, it’s more like an OVA or Original Video Animation. The typical ones that play extremely LOOSE with ‘continuity.’ In that respect the less you know about the games it is based on you may be better off. The changes that he does make, if you are aware of them will make you happy, and I mean REEEEALLY fanboy happy - more often then they will make you sad. At least that’s my experience.
Still the artwork is great and they have Nash AKA Charlie from Street Fighter as a reporter ha ha! I really enjoyed the first book! Of course I’ve been with Mega Man since part 1 - I’m OOOOOOLD lol - so I may have an entirely different perspective than some.
There’s an interview with Joe NG curren’t on SRK’s home page. He says next up for him is another SF Legends series staring a character they haven’t named just yet.
It’s Juri, Omar had a poll and everyone voted for her.
I bet you. 10! Internet dollars.
Just got the encyclopedia.
Its decent enough. Pretty much what I expected. The writers don’t make up much to fill in the gaps which is understandable and for the best. It seems as if every character mentioned in the Universe section at the back has been shown in one game or another. I don’t think any character that had been created for the fiction, even by Udon themselves, made it into that section.

ROFL love Marvel but this round goes to Udon. :lovin:
SFL Ibuki #4 comes out next week!
Skull-Kickers #1 also drops from Udon’s Zub and SRK Member Tokoyama2000 so make sure you pick it up!
I was supposed to go to the Downtown Toronto Udon 10th Anniversary party, but something came up and I missed it, god damn do I have to wait another 10 years to party with Udon? FML.
I say the Ibuki comic IS the SF3 comic. It has Ibuki, both of her stages, her story mode, Elena, Makoto and Oro. Seems about right to me.
Street Fighter Origins: Akuma is announced at the end of SFL: Ibuki #4!
It’s a graphic novel, coming Spring 2011.
Sounds cool. First graphic novel from Udon if I’m not mistaken.
Whoa that’s crazy, I never expected them to actually do an Akuma Legends so soon…and it’s going to be a graphic novel? Double whoa.
Wow, did Marvel even really do that one? It looks like fan art…BAD fan art.
So the SF Gaiden books advertised in the back of Legends 4, are those translated versions of older mangas or new IPs? I remember hearing about a rather old manga called Cammy Gaiden, this at all related?
It’s a translated older manga anthology by the same artist of Capcom Selection Maleficarum, Itoh Mami-sensei, originally bundled by Gamest as SSF2X Gaiden. Cammy Gaiden’s a different work, produced by a different artist, famous Nakahira-sensei as his first SF-related manga. Street Fighter Zero, Sakura Ganbaru!, and Ryu Final all came after his initial take on SSF2 Cammy.
Fate / Stay Night vol. 10 comes out next week! :lovin:
Finally got around to reading Mega Man ZX vol. 2. I really dug the apocalyptic / end of the world vibe they had going in this volume. Really exciting! Mega Man Megamix vol. 2 was dope once again with even MORE Street Fighter references. :karate:
Still haven’t gotten around to reading my copy of Vent just yet.
The Darkstalkers and Red Earth Maleficarum manga comes out next week! I’ve had this book in Japanese for YEARS so it will be great to be able to read it! :lovin:
Skullkickers #2 also comes out next week!
Any updates on the release of Street Fighter II The Ultimate Edition? My Amazon order got delayed.
Haven’t heard anything but I really only know one week prior with 100% certainty and only comic book store dates. Amazon and bookstore dates (like Barnes and Borders) are often misleading so I never comment on those.
