I’ve always loved fighting games for years but prior to SF4 release I wasn’t really serious about it and almost forgotten about it. I don’t consider SF4 god’s gift to fighters either, like at all, but I do appreciate how it invigorated my fighting gaming spirit though. Now I’ve been dabbling in all sorts of fighters again and taken a much more extreme interest in the community.
On a more related note, I do consider Smash a fighting game (yes I went there), just not a traditional fighting game which this community is normally based around. But whats the point of Smash players constantly making these threads when they have their own board and many people on SRK obviously don’t like the Smash community? Such a waste of time that could have been used for something else more productive.
Seriously, they would be accepted a lot more if they didn’t have retards constantly acting like they’re special little snowflakes. If they treated their game like we treat every other here, there’d probably be a lot more people here more open to playing Smash.

also, me saying that guilty gear isuka is broken is not a troll statement. it is broken. it tries to serve 2 masters.

Um…, when I play the game… I just… play it… You know have fun and smile. I’ve never been around smash people like that although smash people talking about combos is funny to me since real combos outside of fox/dedede/mk/faclo or ice climbers really don’t happen much. Generally the people who play smash in my area- save for this dude Thomas who’s a spazz- are really calm, organized people. Sf is more of the game where there’s a whole lot of hype/yelling and whatnot, and fights over losing games etc. That wombo combo thing was weird though, people cheered for something that didn’t take that much effort… I think that’s a bit “special”.
I’m not wanting people top turn and insta like it. But I play smash and sf, cvs, svc, kof, Tekken, GG, Garou, fatal fury sometimes, and soulcal.
Do you feel like the game insults the “manliness” or “omg hardcoreness” of SF? I mean sf was designed for 13 yo arcade going dudes so I really don’t get that, and yeah ssb was meant for little kids (6-11), but it’s fun, so why get all mad about it? That’s the reason I’ll play a fighter- because it’s fun and I’ve been wanting to play it. Not because of some online group of people I don’t know or whatever, I was playing these before srk.com/smashboards/guilty gear in general etc were around and I played fighters before ssb came around- namely hyper fighting, though badly.
someone talk about people acting mentally handicapped or whatever when doing ssb/explain it. I’ve seen dumber things happen in regards to sf/marvel in terms of how people act than in ssb. Although watching skisonic have his little skiseisures when he’s excited at big tournaments and look like a big dreadlocked headbanging muppet is pretty funny.

What people hate is people from the Smash community coming here to prove that Smash is a fighting game by making threads over and over again. Those people shouldn’t care about what SRK thinks about the game. They should just play the game and shut the fuck up already.
I actually posted in that thread several days ago (as Minato). A lot of them are just plain ignorant on other fighters and FGCs. I tried posting in that thread in the nicest way possible, but it didn’t really change anything. I really really hate that thread lol.
I love the smash series to pieces, but I strongly feel that Brawl was a step in the wrong direction.

There’s a reason I keep putting my brawl disk back into my wii; because jumping on wifi with a bunch of random players and hitting them with all kinds of stuff is fun. Grabbing the assist trophy and having Knuckle Joe come out and kick ass is fun. Knocking one dude off the map while hitting the other two simultaneously with Great Aether is fun. Racking up kos in Mario Bros Stage is fun. Yeah there are some things I don’t like, like how air dodging makes characters momentarily non-existence on the map, and how people keep knocking me out of a Koopa Slam, but as long as I can slice shit up with beam swords and throw explosives around I’m not going to care. The game is fun, so Nintendo accomplished their mission.
