What's the most played fighting game in the world right now?

lol/.

sf is all about footsies and spacing, cause normals have way too much priority. but they need to have cause sf characters generally suck and have only a few specials they can work with and game mechanics that dont do shit for your offensive game. hence why theres characters in sf that can pretty much stay db most of the round and not worry about. only jumping or fa-ing fb at times. if your character has no firebals and your normals are bad, good luck in these fights. in short sf has some of the most boring fights in a fighter and is turtle oriented for the most part.

kof since 97 is a really offense oriented game. fast dashes, rolls, multiple jumps and all that make kof a game where holding db will most likely get you killed. in kof yhou gotta be WAY more active than in sf.

in fact this was probably one of the biggest reasons i started giving up on sf back in the days, we actually got agressive on the mf that attacked the least, thus took the leas risk to win the round. there are footsies in kof, and you can turtle in kof as well. but nowhere near the level of s.

bitch

:shake: :shake:

and…, dem da dum, meth.

Ummmm…You are a little too far north for that. Might want to go to South America.

It’s more of a party game than a serious fighting game.

King of Fighters probably is, just because there are 11 of them, and there’re so many bootlegs out there that basically every arcade outside of America (which doesn’t have arcades, and probably never did) has at least a couple HAX MVSs with KOF on it.

bootlegs? with all the rainbow editions i played of sf2 since way back in 92? you dont know wtf you talking bout.

and sf got no games? theres 5 sf2 games, 3 alphas not counting gold editions and such, 3 sf3 games, 3 sf ex games, 1 sf movie game, 2 sf4 games. where you joking man? theres more sf hax and been done so for a way longer time, so educate yourself first before opening your mouth.

SS:IV or BBCS

between those 2

you are dumb.

said the retard. you even play at an arcade before in your life kid?

veilig achter je monitor bitch?

After the rainbow edition of SF2, it was extremely hard to bootleg the carts due to the invention of the CPS2 encryption, which wasn’t broken until sometime this decade.

MVS on the other hand, was easily crackable and bootlegs of SNK games were everywhere, with one small lull during KOF 2k when they used a new encryption code. That was cracked awhile later. :stuck_out_tongue:

I really think piracy contributed to the success of KOF in certain areas, if SF was piratable back in the day it might’ve been more even, we’ll never know.

thing is sf2 never was as popular as in the beginning, i know since i was ther at the time and playing the shit out of it. and BY far the most popular sf games ever during those days was hf and ce. both had long runs of rainbow editions. theres a different rainbow wherever u r.

the term you are seeking is “spacing” :coffee:
footsies at the end are only a part of the spacing game

GG indded is way better game than sf or kof, but thats just my opinion, feel free to disagree

i will, wholeheartedly. cause imo gg sucks, but thats just me and my own op. not as bad as the superhoe vs series.

Best be trollan

The truth is finally out: the most played fighting game in the world is MKvsDC
P.S. and Superman is the most played fg char on planat
P.P.S. and Ground Pound is the special move used the most times in the history of fgs

no the term I was seeking was the one I used, air footsies. I don’t see how this is so hard to understand. Some of the same interaction for footsies happen in the air, aka air footsies. I don’t know who only said footsies HAVE to happen on the ground. While the term was mostly used for SF here in the states @ least, other games do have footsie as well as OTHER forms of footsie due to games being more complex than SF.

while GG\MVC2 play more to the air footsie style, there are parts of KOF that apply the same type of mind set. Mind you that if you don’t play GG\MVC2 @ a good level, its hard to understand this concept since those are the only 2 games really that play to air footsies due to air mobility. Other games like vampire savior also use “air footsies” but this game is pretty much dead.

games like SF virtually have 0 air footsies due to the 1 jumping arc for most of the cast. In a game like kof, you can have up to 3 types of jumps for every character. Since there are more arcs in the air, there is an air footsie game taking place. @ least more so than it is in SF.

It’s not really true in Beijing. SF4 and Tekken are both very popular here.

As for KoF, it’s also very popular, but the scenes are fragmented between different games. One arcade is mostly '97 but another is '98 and '98um.

you sound like you’ve only played sf4. try sitting in downback in ST and see where that gets you

Regarding the OP, are you asking about the most played fighting game series, or one specific game?

Because if it’s one specific game, I doubt KOF could come out on top. There are too many popular KOFs for any of them to beat out Tekken 6 or (Super/) Street Fighter IV. I think, at the moment, 97, 98, 2002, 98UM and 2002UM are all popular in some place or other. Not to mention all the bootlegs.

But if you mean game series, it might be KOF. But it’s really just an educated guess on my part.

Off-topic, who invented the word footsie and why does it sound so funny? Was that intentional?
