I’m 31 and still playing. The kids do cut a chunk out of the time I can spend gaming, but I still get a good share. I don’t plan on quitting… well maybe if my son ever whoops my ass at something
Do what i tell my sister.
“Worry about your own life.”
Okay then. So how about this… Lets say your brother gives you shit about everything you like. What then? You plan to ask SRK about it? Plan to drop everything?
You’re more than old enough to decide for YOURSELF what you want to do. If not you could be everyone’s bitch and let everyone else decide everything for you while living miserably trying to satisfy them but not yourself. But hey, you got one life to live and spending it enjoying what you like when you can for as long as you can is silly right?
There’s no proper age in quitting a hobby, just when its no longer fun.
My sister is 2 years younger than me.
She gives me shit about playing videogames, watching cartoons and wrestling.
Know what I do…I tell her to STFU and to go back to Jersey Shore.
LOL that made me chuckle
I wont be playing fighters beyond 28. If tons of shit that I like AND need to play, I can extend that to 30.
I’ll still be paying stuff like Saints Row, GTA, Need for Speed, or whatever “casual” IP is hot at the time. But there is, IMO, a time to stop going to sausage fest fighting game gatherings. Oh, and I play pad for similar reasons.
if your jobless and live with your mother the time to stop is NOW! other than that never…
I envy this man.
If you live your personal life by only doing what others approve of because you don’t want to get ragged on or whatever, you’re not an adult no matter your physical age.
I learned that in high school, lol – you can’t stifle yourself just because some selfish/retarded girl or a friend wants you to, unless either said hobby is harmful to you or you’re a person with such infinitesimal amounts of self-confidence you have to please everyone else at the expense of what you actually want.
As long as you are enjoying it why not keep doing it? It’s common sense you have to do what you have to do and you do what you enjoy simple as that.
I still play games and I am 39. I grew up playing videogames and will continue to play them. Now will I try and play at a competitive level is another thing.
wow that sounds pretty stressful man trying to figure out, how long you intend to enjoy yourself
I’m 37 now
Wife/Family/Friends/Employer don’t seem to frown on any of the gaming
I can’t see myself NOT gaming
Its entertainment.
Those people who do frown upon gaming really don’t matter to me.
Live life by your rules not others
craze
ive had a deep passion for video games , i dont see myself stopping really
you can never outgrow video games. now maybe theres an age you need to outgrow playing them competitively but thats still a big MAYBE.
man if someone is worrying about you playing video games at a old age then they don’t have anything better to do. so you should look them in face in say how bout you play a video game with me instead of dick riding about the age factor for video games. see your hobby might be playing video games while others might have the hobby of dick riding so would you rather be a 30 year old playing games or a 30 year old watching another somewhat old man play video games and dick ride. the choice is yours lol. Dick riding aint a good look
This guy’s words held so much wisdom and awesomeness i had to quote it. People need to worry about themselves more than other people’s interests if its not bothering them.
There IS NONE! >_<. Its just that some of you talk about this invisible and unwritten rule bullshit about age. I personally don’t listen to this because frankly, it is B.S!! What is wrong with an adult wanting to kill some time and let off some steam through the use of video games? None, the last time I checked.
who ever gives you shit about it, let that be their problem! Why do you have to try and fit in with their standards? Live life the way YOU want to live it!
I thought we got over the “games are for kids” last decade because everyone and their mother plays video games. Remember when computers used to be for nerds? Now stupid doltz have iphones and are on facespace all day.
Anyways, I go outside, and I see people who are mostly sad because they aren’t using their 1st amendment rights to do whatever the hell they want. I think it’s sad that other people are stronger enforcing rules rather than the laws themselves. I look at them with pity. Many people are on auto-pilot, aren’t self-aware, and just run a template for their lives. They aren’t doing what they want, they are just running a template. Do what you want man. Like what others said, you’re gong to die an no one will give a damn about you. There is nothing special about you and me. People are replaceable, take one down and another takes its place. That means what you do is insignificant in the bigger picture; you only have your internal world to make something out of it!
Play on, playa.
