Assuming you have been going through life with school, a steady job, a wife, and children, 37 would be the proper age to stop playing video games. You don’t want to start neglecting your family and career because of games, do you? I don’t think so. Not with that receding hairline, no sir.
Gaming is a hobby/entertainment bro… something akin to watching television imo… its a bad idea to focus too much time on anything and neglecting your children/responsibilities… what you just said fits with anything, not just gaming…
I don’t even know who puts enough time into gaming to neglect these things… 30 minutes a day/every other day can’t be too much time for myself can it?
My father is almost 60 years old and he still plays civilization like every day.

I would say the proper age to stop playing video games is either whenever you find that you no longer have an interest in them or when your real life obligations become such that playing video games for some reason hinders your ability to focus on other things that might be more important in your life. Apart from this, there really is no precise age where you absolutely HAVE TO stop playing. The main thing to always remember is that video games are a form of entertainment, just like watching TV or playing baseball. So long as you continue to be entertained and that form of entertainment is not detrimental to you or others (like spending 18 hours a day playing WoW while your baby starves to death), then there’s no real reason to stop…
cool. my dad is around 50 and is really into racing sims (rfactor, gran turismo, some old f1 game) and age of empires…
I know im probably gonna play games forever… of course not be so into them when Im married, have kids, etc. Just will be more of a hobby than a way of life!

My uncle is really into racist sims (playing the sims and trying to ruin the lives of minoritys in the game) he is a horibble person and i hat ehim for it.
Probably never. The funny thing is my brother said he would never quit playing 3 years ago. Well what happend he hasnt touched a game in 2 years and had lost his focus on games. Im gonna enjoy as long as i like it and if i ever quit i know it was a great time. 
i am currently 32. i grew up with a gadget addicted mother, so we always had a video game in the house from a atari 2600 to reg nintendo. we would all spend hours together taking turns playing super mario bros and street fighter 2. as we grew and new systems came out we played as a family. we always had a current mario game and street fighter to play. When i was 20 i moved out to a apartment to prepare a place for my soon to be new wife and i to share, but my family and i still got together to play games and have fun.
now at 32, having been married for almost 12 years and a 5 year old son to show for it, my family is still at it. whether it be here at home in my house teaching my son to hold back and the flick forward for a sonic boom to when i pick my son up at my parents house after work to find them all playing the new super mario bros game on the wii together , or playing on a xbox live together with my sister and her fiance some halo 3 ,games are apart of our lives. my wife even enjoys our wii on regular occasions even tho shes not a “gamer” like the rest of us.
so when is a good time to give up gaming. hmm ,well my mom and dad are in there 60’s and still play, im in my early 30’s and still play. i think a good time to quit is when im dead and gone. lol. even then, ill be playing somewhere in the after life.

I don’t know why you would quit playing video games because of age. If you enjoy it then theres no reason to quit. As long as it’s not a problem in your life playing video games is a great hobby that you have no reason to throw aside due to age.
I’m 14. I do find it bizzare that an old man is playing video games, but I can’t complain. It’s your choice, you can stop whenever you feel like it. I have no problem with that.

i’ve gone to school with ppl that stopped playing around their teens. proper “time” to stop playing is when you cant find any enjoyment when playing, imo. i’ll probably continue playing games until i lose interest for some strange reason. hopefully that doesnt happen.
I doubt playing video games past 30 in this ‘nerd’ age that were living in right now will ever be frowned upon.
