Can’t wait for it to be Friday, my sf4 main, he was literally way better than my secondaries lol. I know the struggle to transition from playing Nash will be harsh but it’s all a part of the game. His normals look pretty beast and his dash low looks harder to react to. The crush counter OS to v skill seems to open up a lot of possibilities. So he has plus frames on his hard hitting normals? That is just too beast. Want to try him out already and see how he compares. He looks a lot more rush down oriented but I hope he can still switch between the two styles like in four, defense and rush down.
Only heavy normal we know for certain is + is st.hk, and sadly raw v-skill OS might not work(using the dash of the v-skill to follow up) but we might be able to v-skill OS into the overhead for a combo extension.
Anyone notice a brief sampling of his Alpha 3 theme “Untamable Fists” in the bridge?
This one’s really growing on me. I like that this version fits Balrog the character better, while the High Roller Casino remix fits the stage better. Pretty brilliant.
@Froztey Good, then we can share our findings! I feel like he may have those too! Maybe also meaty low/meaty overhead off of super knockdown since it leaves him near opponent. However midscreen I believe he switched sides. Corner only maybe?
I have a feeling he’s gonna play the same way from 4, where it’s like stagger jab > throw or tick jab > walk back cr.mp > dash straight vtrig or cr.mk > mk target combo > vtrig.
Which is the perfect game plan in a game that revolves a lot around frametrap/throwbaits, especially with no crouch teching.
It’s just this time around he has more options to be creative to land a throw or sneak overhead. Paired with a nasty st.hk that leads into good damage.
His down charge up kick looks like it has a lot of active frames, when it hits meaty and is cancelled into v-trig could be huge frame adv?
update on earlier post: St.hk OS V-skill doesn’t work because you can cancel into v-skill off a normal
