So if you land h.dash upper you get a couple ender options

You can dash straight with no meter, or EX straight for some insane corner carry.

But you can spend a bar and do EX dash low to knock them down and stay on top of them, think it hit for around 300? I think using the EX low is mad worth it for sustained pressure.

You MIGHT get an extension in the corner, maybe an EX upper or v-skill follow up? I’m unsure how it handles juggle points but I hope we get more in the corner.

St.mk > St.mp follow ups are pretty poor without V-trigger, I’m sad :frowning:

Lol of course Balrog turns out to have one of the best st.HK normals in the game. What.

These seem to work regardless if the c. hp is a crush counter or not. just replace medium dash straight with light dash straight

His s.HK was great in SF4 as well. =V
Though it functioned completely differently there, of course.

TAP can be spaced to be +2 on block, potential for crazy midscreen gap closer once we master the spacing.

So ummm…his first trial is impossible…? No matter how many times I try, j.HK into st.LP puts you too far away to connect the st.lk target combo. The hell?

Lol, you gotta jump in or else it pushes you too far out for the rest. The st.lk barely hits afterwards so you have to be quick.

some notes:

balrogs walkspeed and +2 normals are ridiculous. once you do 2-3 vortex loops in the corner its stun smh.

sometimes its hard to get in but i think i need to just
1.yolo rush feint
2. tap
3. ex rush low

a lot of people seem to run away vs rog so it shouldnt be too risky. and honestly with 8f i should be playing dumber instead of reactive down back style. if a better rog can give a gameplan for getting in that would be great.

once you have them low you can hang back and try to anti air them, or tick with s. short (3f, +1 on block) or s. jab (4f, +2 on block).

my execution is shit so i use these frame traps

c. jab ~ c. jab (beats 3f, +2 on block, special cancel)
s. forward ~ s.forward (beats 4f, +2 on block, special cancel)

i like to use meter for ex rush punch. you can get a lot of damage from stray c. jabs or c. strongs.

wakeup ex upper is kinda shit but it has its uses. no armor on 1st frame and highly throwable tho.

Damn so no more stuffing people jumping in on your wakeup with an EX dash straight due to no invincibility at startup?
