In case anyone doesnt know. The strategy guide comes out November 10th. You can preorder them at gamestop. I may just take the liberty to post all zero’s frame data and day 1 bnb’s in this thread to save yall the trouble.
The frame date would be useful thx
<3 Flocker. Is he the first Zero in top 3 at a major?
His Zero is nuts, jizzed myself watching that stuff.
Honestly his Phoenix is probably his best character. I will wager he has the third best Zero on earth though. He’s super smart.
Whose Zero is the best on Earth? Man Flocker killed it. Finally, Zero wins a major. Let the bandwagon begin!
DAT ZERO BABI GET HYPE!! FLORIDA REPRESENT!!
Not looking forward to all the Zero mirrors I’m gonna have to fight now. I hate that mirror with a passion.
MAD shoutouts to Flocker! His Zero won just as much, if not more matches for him than even Phoenix. His Zero wasn’t fancy, but he didn’t need to be. Keepaway Zero won over everyone at SB.
Definitely a smart player. Called tron at all the right times, made sure to actively protect his assist if it didn’t connect, made sure that he didn’t press too hard and get blown up by haggar/tron. Always like Zero’s keepaway game over his rushdown game.
Very nice play to watch, especially since he was really good with ALL of his characters. He put the work into learning his “assist character” and 'dark phoenix/phoenix without x-factor, and that’s what I think really made him go the distance.
Marn got 3rd at Final Round. But this is the first time a Zero player won a major. Good stuff Flocker.
WHAT DID I MISS!!! ZERO MAIN WINS A TOURNAMENT??? YEAAAAAAA.
bitches don’t know about zero, any vids?
Gotta wait for the stream archive Sanchaz
His Zero was good but the fact that Phoenix was on his team saved him alot because he got snapped out whenever he got hit.
edit:Maybe he thought of that too.
I brought that up in the other thread too.
Honestly snapping out Zero seems like a bad choice. Just kill him (he gains like…1.2 bars for being killed so it’s not that big a deal). Then you get to try landing hits on TRON to snap her out (much easier than landing hits on Zero/Tron).
You didn’t include Wright. I see Get 'Em Missile!! being a staple for Zero simply because of the unblockable set ups you can do with Wright, since the puppy hits low.
Shoutouts to Flocker for using Blue Zero and dominating at Seasons Beatings. He made Zero look like he was playing a Mega Man game lol.
You want to Snap in Phoenix as quickly as possibly because Zero can build at least 2 and a half meters if you can do multiple relaunches in a single combo. The only real threat after that is Zero because of combo shenanigans and Mix-ups.
This is something I call the Phoenix Factor, and it’s something really useful for characters that have low health like Zero.
Basically, having Phoenix on your team means your opponent is unlikely to kill Zero on the first combo. If you didn’t have Phoenix, Zero would always die on the first combo, especially Flocker’s. But because Phoenix is there, no one wants to waste the time, and wants to kill Phoenix first. This basically protects your characters from touch of death combos until Phoenix dies. That’s the Phoenix Factor.
It’s mad good.
I agree you want to kill him as soon as you can. He came back to haunt them so many times.
Flocker theory fighter:
You kill his Zero and Tron. Probably minimum 3 and 1/2 meter by the time Phoenix comes out, but he must NOT land ANYTHING with either Zero or Tron.
You snap his Zero to kill Phoenix, he has Tron assist/Zero tag-out after 6 seconds, 2-ish seconds after the two fireballs in the air. He can tag out to Zero when safe, or open you up with Tron assist and then tag out. Most likely will be able to tag out either way. This was what screwed his opponents over at SB.
You snap his Zero, kill Tron, he still can build meter with Zero.
Best option: Unless you’re perfecting him, kill Zero, snap Tron. Will probably be at around 3 meter at this point minimum, reasonably 3 1/2 to 4. he can’t build any additional meter as easily, about 2-3 tries at Phoenix.
This is really hard to do however. One clean hit from Zero and he goes from having 1 to 3 meters, practically guaranteeing DP. I used this team yesterday in casuals and just the Phoenix factor was enough to score me games, even knowing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about Tron.
Heck, even if you kill Phoenix, Zero + Tron is scary enough that it can win you a game regardless. Kinda like Viscant’s team, but arguably (and according to the tournament, actually) better!
so would it be possible to have zero, dante, and phoenix on a team be effective??? zero would lead off with dante’s weasel shot assist, and the phoenix assist is just to extend combos, whats your opinion?
lol at flocker making use of zero’s shoryuken, mad props.
