If you challenge my skill as a player be prepared to back yourself up. COME see me at EVO, NCR, SCR or wherever Im calling you out right now 100$ ft5 Money match.
You can drop the internet tough guy crap - no one cares, man. You know I live in Dallas and I’m not going to make an $800 trip to California for a tournament just because you’re salty and called me out online. I didn’t challenge you. All I said was that people with your attitude tend to not get very far. And you’re not disproving that you have an attitude. I also said that you’re gimping characters if you choose not to utilize all of their options. That’s not even debatable. That’s a fact. That’s like playing a character in SF with a high priority DP and never using it to anti-air - instead opting to anti-air with s.lp.
You really need to cool your shit. All we are trying to do is help you become the best Zero you can be. Everyone in this thread is unanimously agreeing that having his Buster charged is the most effective way to play him. We don’t do extended combos to show off - we do it because we want to net more damage. Zero has close to the lowest damage output in the game. He relies on extended combos, mixups, and resets to do big damage. Sure, you could blow more meters and blow your X-Factor to do comparable damage, but that’s just not the smart thing to do.
If you want to remain bullheaded, that’s fine. It really doesn’t affect me at all. We’re just trying to help you. If you don’t want it and you just want to continue doing what you’re doing no matter what, you probably shouldn’t post here. We pretty much only talk about the development of the character, utilizing him in the best ways, and learning new tricks. Either way, you really need to drop your attitude, guy. I (and I’m sure everyone else) would like the Zero boards to remain a sodium-free zone.
Im not salty or mad at you personally its just this game is so fucken easy and scrubby that a Character like Zero who SHOULD be charging buster DOESNT have to because of DHC glitches and shit. I Honestly dont wanna sound Cocky but I dont need Help Im from the West coast so… yeah =__=
There’s so much fail in this paragraph. Zero doesn’t need to buster charge due to DHC glitch? lolwut?? Zero can’t start the DHC glitch, so that’s out of the window. We are talking about Zero’s gameplay, on how it should be constantly revolving around his buster, the advantages you get from it always being charged, etc.
You’re from the West Coast, big deal. Does that automatically make you a good player or something, lol.
It’s funny how you keep talking yourself up yet do you have any proof that you’re as skillful as you’re making yourself out to be??
HisNameIsL is correct. The blaster is easily one of, if not the very most important tool Zero has. It’s used in combos, blockstrings, assist setups, air mobility, zoning, poke countering, Sougenmu traps, wiff canceling, snap back followups and probably more. No other one of his moves is more versatile. To use it only for combos is hindering Zero. His full potential can never be reached without utilizing all of his tools and all of their uses.
Sure, you could play Zero without constant charging, you could even win that way, but your Zero will always be worse than a Zero who does charge. Your damage output will be lower on average, your pressure will be weakened, your zoning game becomes almost worthless, and the threat of a Level 3 Blaster shot never worries the opponent. Fact is, there is no reason to not constantly charge the buster at all times.
As for HaikuWar, just in cased you missed it, you should read this again until you understand.
Also, I almost feel confident accepting that FT5, but I have no way of going to EVO atm. I’ll play you online though :3
That Nigga was trolling me and when I call him out he goes and changes face. Whatever

I have a quick question regarding combo extension with Dante and Akuma. When I do the combo I end up landing most often in a match (c. m, h, shippuga, s, j.m, j.m, lvl 3 buster, raikousen l, s, j.m, j.m, j.h (x3), j.s) and then scoop up the opponent with Weasel Shot or Tatsu assist and Sentsuizan - what am I supposed to do next? Everything I seem to try and do, they fall out of, presumably because of histun deterioration. I’ve seen loads of combo videos that keep things going seemingly forever after this, however. What am I doing wrong?
Changed face? All I did was rehash everything I’ve already said to you more extensively. And I hardly think calling you salty is “trolling.” You clearly had some salt in your Cheerios yesterday. And you calling me out to California tournaments knowing full well I live in Dallas was the stupidest shit ever. Just stop now, dude. You’re embarrassing yourself.
From that point on, you can’t hit them that much more. The most basic thing to do is OTG with TK Sentsuizan, hit them with buster shot, and Rekkouha. You can get a little more intricate with your combo ender by using s, j.m xx buster shot, H Sentsuizan, Rekkouha.
Thanks a lot for the help man, much appreciated.
I did say evo also…

Level 3 buster is like the best poke in the game. There’s no reason NOT to use it. It makes Zero really fucking scary if it turns into damage every time. Frame advantage on block, fast as shit, untechable knock down, recovers super fast, eats up a ton of space, can be done in the air or ground… blows through assists and shit. If you get push blocked away you can use it to make them think twice about trying to get away.
If you’re not using level 3 buster, you’re not playing zero to his potential, straight up.
the only thing Ive got to say to fellow Zero players who dont charge blaster: “Why not!?”
its not like they can punish you for charging it, or like in TvC, where you couldnt charge and advance guard at the same time because it needed 3 buttons (which is why i went back to Karas), and its so damn easy to use, just release the button, not other motion requiered, its like an extremely low risk if it misses/gets blocked for a huge reward if it hits. So what if Zero can use the dhc glitch? thats not why Zero is so freaking good, there are other more important factors that make him frightening.
So I was messing around in training mode earlier trying to find more mixup and reset options with Zero and stumbled across something that I thought was kind of interesting. I don’t know how many characters this works on but it’s fun and slightly execution heavy.
On Sentinel, you can instant overhead him with j.b or j.c easily while he’s crouching. Doing j.c tends to be the more reliable way to combo from my experience but I found out that you can do instant overhead with j.b, command dash down, and do 2a and both hits will combo if the instant overhead connected. Even if they block the hits, this high/low game is ridiculously fast and has possible use against big characters like Sentinel who can get hit by j.b while crouching. This may be common sense or useless, but just throwing the idea out there. It’d be interesting to see a Zero quickly switch between high and low with how fast the moves come out.
It’s better to do j.m>j.qcf.m on Sentinel. AvariceX posted some months ago that you can instant overhead some other
big member of the cast like MODOK, Tron, and Hulk with j.2H>j.S and then combo after. He also mentioned the timing is strict midscreen.
I actually use j.2h > j.s on the big characters since it’s much easier to link that into a combo than j.m>j.qcf m is. I’m just saying this could be an interesting way to expand Zero’s high/low game since you can do j.2h > j.s for two overheads or j.m > command dash > cr. l for a high and low quickly. I wish qcf. m was still an overhead like in TvC then you would have an option off j.m to do another overhead with qcf. m or go low by command dashing.
Just got the last clip I need for my Dante/Zero/Doom team video. It’s still gonna take a little while to edit it all together, but expect something soon. Touches of Death everywhere!
Not sure if this is common knowledge but you can karadash with S to keep the buster charged.
So did anyone go to Revelations or CEO? How’d you guys do?
I didn’t go, but I’ll be at South Florida Challenge 2 in early July.
Well I guess ill see you there man.
I made it out of my pool in winners at CEO, and then lost to ChrisG and Evil Rashaan :C but atleast I got one evo point >.>
