You have to go into button config and set one button to record and one to playback. It’s convoluted as hell and I didn’t find it even after searching 3 pages of google results until someone on here corrected me when I said it doesn’t exist…however, it’s actually a much better system once you know how to use it then having to pause the game every time you want to switch between record and playback.
Where can I find a stream of Marn’s Zero?
You can use the :d::h: instant overhead on MODOK and Hulk if timed and spaced perfectly. It will hit Tron if done perfectly, but only one hit, so it won’t combo. ,
Sentsuizan seems much more reliable.
I can’t reproduce Zero’s Desk Glitch, any tips? Does it work in training too?
Ok so I actually finished testing this. It doesn’t work on as many characters as I thought, but for the characters who you can only get 1 hit of j.:d::h: on that’s actually not an issue at all because the ideal combo from this actually only uses 1 hit.
This works on MODOK, Sentinel, and Hulk (Tron can be hit by the instant overhead but not comboed from it).:
Instant Overhead j.:d::h: (1 hit) j.:s: xx j.:qcf: c.:l: c.
c.:h: f.:h: :l:
:h: :f::h: :s: jump j.
j.
Level 3 Buster j.:dp::l: :s: jump j.
j.
j.:h: j.:s: :qcf::atk::atk:
Works anywhere onscreen with no assist (and you can obviously extend the combo into a second relaunch with an assist) and does 662,800 damage.
Also one thing I tested and wanted to share. Something little but useful to know.
Whenever Zero hits an opponent in the air (first hit of a combo hits enemy in the air), you can only do a combo that consists of 2 Shippugas. Not very sure about this but my point is that you can only do two loops of our basic BnB if you hit an opponent mid-air or after a Doom Projectile assist (the assist send enemies to the air)
Also one intersting thing you guys should try, but I tried this yesterday at night almost before going to bed so my execution wasn’t all on point. With lv.2 or lv.3 X-Factor Zero might have an infinite, you just repeat TK M Setsuizans with Songenmu. Got 14 hits yesterday so I am not sure, but really doubt it.
fun reset…
… [2h>6h>hold charge or start charging>]j.MM>stagger>L/M raikousen
I just found a pretty ridiculous mixup trick with Zero that leads into big damage (nothing bigger than we’ve already seen), but I hope you guys don’t mind if I wait until after Saturday to post it. Normally I’m against the “STSFN” mentality, but this tourney I’m going to is less than 2 days from now and I’ll post the information right after anyway ^^…
Also I’m starting to think it’s better not to end Zero’s combos with Rekkoha unless it’s going to kill or setup a really good DHC, and instead just OTG reset with another Sentsuizan and go into mixup. With so many options you probably have like a 70/30 chance of connecting your post-reset mixup as long as you aren’t too predictable, and if you hit that extra combo starter then that second combo is going to kill for sure. Not really new to MvC at all (people have been doing this for years already in 2), but I haven’t really seen it applied to Zero even though he’s such an obvious candidate to trade a super finisher with a mixup opportunity.
I’ll take your word Avarice, hope it’s crazy.
Yeah Marn’s Zero has DEFINATELY stepped it up. For those who havent seen it yet he’s at Final Round in ATL this entire weekend. Here’s the link.
marn on the teamsp00ky stream @ finalround tearing it up w/ mag/zero/sentinel atm during casuals. he’s looking really good against some top lvl players like ryry, flashmetroid, pr rog, etc. hes doing some combos i believe arent listed here.
7 super jump>air throw works if they respect it (aka not mashing). if not, you could probably do j.2h or L raikousen
anyway, just noticed that marn pretty much has charge building permanently on L button, and i’m guessing he doesn’t use raikousen after buster for consistency (7 jump+skip 6h)
That’s because he’s doing combos that were obsolete in the first week.
edit: Actually marn just gave me an idea to improve what we do have…
edit2: never mind it doesn’t work, not even on Sentinel not even in the corner
However, he’s still an amazing player and his fundamentals with Zero are really good, he just REALLY needs to spend some time looking up better combos.
Same thing with Justin on the WNF stream, and Evil Rashaan on the FADC videos.
They do really basic Zero stuff, but they have a good sense of the fundamentals.
I at times fall into a habit of not doing full long 3loops + charge in matches just, because I am afraid to drop it.
I’ve actually gotten in the habit of doing 2 loops most of the time rather than 3 unless I’m really feeling my execution that match. You can only do 2 on some characters anyway, and the timing of the second loop is way more lenient than the third.
On which characters you can only do two loops? I haven’t find one so far.
3 loops should be possible on everyone
5h 2 hits instead of 3 to not cross up most characters
Amateur Voice Actor plus MvC3 = Not too bad of a job

Marn’s mixup and execution was on point, the reverse OCV against RyRy in casuals is exactly how you should be playing Zero. Crossup overheads, fake overheads into fastfall lows, baiting forward rolls into more mixups that lead to more mixups XD. Some of the combos he was doing may not have been the absolute best damage-wise, but I had no idea j.MM loop and Sougenmu dive loop was “obsolete week 1 stuff”.
I caught some things which were really interesting. He was throwing out a lvl 3 buster from SJ height then going right into L Rekkosai then landing for a full combo. Also, he used hitstun from drones assist and command dash to reposition himself facing towards the corner. Never seen that before. Definitely going to steal it.
Storm, Chun, and Spencer you can only get 2 loops on (just tested tonight). Chun was weird though - I got 3 loops on my first or second try but couldn’t replicate it once after like 50 more tries so I concluded it wasn’t worth going for anyway.
The things you are stealing are obsolete (or at least not new to anyone worth their salt here), look harder. Sougenmu dive loop was in fact found in week 1, most of us abandoned it because you can’t build meter in Sougenmu so why trade building more than a full extra meter for spending an extra meter and only getting ~100k more damage? j.MMH loop is DarkDeath’s loop and was also found in the first week, but there are combos that are just as practical but do more damage and build more meter.
