WHATAMIFIGHTINGFOOOOOOOOO!: the MvC3 Zero Thread

i love zero, along with a good assist he can rape a whole team with command dash and raikosen mixups
he should never be on point, he is way too vulnerable and if they catch him he is done, and is pretty nice that with a combo + xfactor lvl 2 -3 we can 100% even sentinel.

Got my first one touch death on my friends morrigan today with zero, shit was dope. I was running Zero (projectile assist) Chun (legs), Ironman (beam for crossups). He was running morrigan (meter), Dante (jam), viper (flame kick). We were going at it, but he just worked my zero last round with morrigan sothe following round i hit him with the buster charge double luanch combo into x factor raining super twice. 1 touch death… he just dropped the controller.

Zero/Dante/Storm is my newest team after dropping sentinel. Got a 700k+ combo with just 1 bar and both assists no xfc.

(You can start before the combo with L charged or you can start with the Sentsuizan H)Sentsuizan H > 2M > 2H > S > J.Mx2 > Sentsuizan H > Call Storm Whirlwhind Assist > OTG w/ TK Sentsuizan H or a quick jump Sen H > S > J.Mx2 > Release Lvl.3 Buster > Raikousen L > S > J.Mx2 > J.H > J.S > Call Dante Jam Session Assist > OTG Sentsuizan H > Rekkoha.

Took awhile but I finally got charging down while comboing, feels second nature now lol. And I almost thought it was impractical. What a foolish, young boy I was. HAHA.

i can’t do charge combos at all is there a trick ?

for the loop combos i got them all done but i wanna learn the charge ones now.

from what i understand is you can change the button the keep the charge so it’s like :l:(charge):m: :d::h: :h: :f::h:(switch to :h:?) :l: :m:(switch to :l:??) :h: :f::h: and so on

kinda confusing if you don’t know how it’s done :frowning:

I’ve been messing around with different things you can do from super jump canceling (basically just TKing whatever special you want and activating during the prejump frames) a standing :s:, but the only things I could seem to get to combo were Ryuenjin (which ends the combo), and a fully charged shot. The charge shot stops their accent, so you can continue a new ground string. So, I guess any time your combo calls for a grounded charge shot, you can do a launcher super jump canceled into the charge shot instead for a little more damage.

You can also cancel into an :h: Hienkyaku, which puts you just underneath them. You can get a single :l:, :m:, :h:, or charge shot to hit. (:s is too low to hit and Sentsuizan is too slow.) This doesn’t seem very useful normally, but with Sougenmu on, you can bring them back to the ground with :h: and relaunch. :d::h: will actually hit twice without Sougenmu and allow you to relaunch, though.

One other thing that I was curious about with Sougenmu was whether it just did your attacks a few frames later, or your inputs. It seems like you can’t cancel the clone’s attack into another one unless yours hit, as well, so it would seem to be the actual attacks being cloned. It’s kind of disappointing because the other way would have been a lot more interesting.

EDIT: Also, the above testing was done against Sentinel, so results vary for other characters.

What I do is: L.(Hold charge) M.(Switch charge) H. fw.H. L.(Switch charge) M. H. fw.H. S. into whatever the hell.

Hold L > M > H(3hit) > Release L and Hold 6H(3hit) > Release 6H and Hold L. That’s your pattern.

Beginning Zero here. I have burning questions that I don’t have time to rifle through 31 pages to answer!

  1. What’s Zero’s general strategy? What would a Zero player want to be doing while he’s out?
  2. Any videos of solid, fundamental zero gameplay you would recommend to me?
  3. What are Zero’s options against keepaway/projectile spam?
  4. What do you consider his best assist type?
  1. You could of looked through at least the last four pages from Feb.13 to now and got all your answers.
  2. Rushdown and Mixup
  3. Yes there is. youtube zero mvc3 and find the vids previewing she-hulk and zero, two parts.
  4. Teleport…block…super jump
  5. Depends on what your other characters are trying to do. Beta/Hadangeki is good for assisting zoning type characters especially if zero is in Sougenmou mode. Gamma/Shippuga is good to extend combos.

So basically for the charge buster combos you just gotta practice what you said IKARU? Hold L > M > H(3hit) > Release L and Hold 6H(3hit) > Release 6H and Hold L. That’s your pattern. ?

its damn hard for me lol do you know like any beginners tips to get the “Feel” off it like any tricks or something?

im gonna practice it all day today:D

if you play on pad, map another button to A

I’m using stick and I got it really fast. It’s more of a get used to it thing than a difficulty thing. Honestly the hardest part in all his combos is linking the >H to the S.L.

yea well i got that loop done now it’s so sexy working on the charge combos now.

ill try out IKARUs technique but overall it’s just hold buttons can’t be that hard :stuck_out_tongue:

You can use the feint to extend combos, if you go airborne too early and don’t have charge and move your charge to C, you can double B, then feint, then one or two more b’s to buy time.

I dunno if this has been found yet but I’ve been using this combo lately when my assists are dead and I don’t have a charge (IE: Zero is last character in, no buster charge yet).

s.L s.M s.H fw+H S SJ j.MM j.H falling j.M land j.MM j.H (3 hits) land j.MM j.H (3 hits) land S sj. MM j.H j.S land Rekkoha.

Not HUGE damage but it’s a loop that people might not know about.

I’m hoping someone can explain to me why the level 3 whiffed completely. I know how the hyper armor and everything works, I was wondering if she’s projectile invincible for a moment at the beginning or if assists are invincible at the beginning. I caught her with the same thing in another match earlier than that one, so I’m genuinely confused on why that one just completely whiffed.

You can’t hit assists til they actually land to perform their move.

Just picked up zero so I wanted to know were to start ? What combos should I learn first i want to be able to use him decently soon So what couple of combos should i learn that get the most damage for the most efficiency its just there are so many so I dont know were to start… Thanks in advance to whoever answers and sorry for being a nub.

alright, good to know. thanks!

Zero is a godly metter builder by the way. His combos are more difficult but the pay off is 1.5 meters per lengthy combo, even dropping a couple combos grants you good meter and a charged buster.
