What would be your opinion if the roster is like 70-80% the same as USFIV?

The … drop? I’m not talking about his wall dI’ve. His wall jump. It was decent for general use but also part of unblockables.

Are you a troll or?

yes just jump to conclusions I’m a troll. fuck outta here. I was talking about his Izuna drop special. You’re talking about his even more useless wall jump. I’m not even going to list reasons why it’s useless because fuck you.

Sean and Alex please.

Nah, sorry, you’re not a troll, you’re just dumb.

I don’t mind some of the old-school cast returning, just…switch up some of their fighting styles and outfits (AT LAUNCH) from previous iterations (Jin Kazama’s fighting style and outfit from TTT to T4).

Also (and this one really gives me a fiery toilet episode when I think about it) Capcom has a DEEP water well of characters from different genre of games they can make into World Warriors. To keep recycling the same characters for almost 3 decades, from a video game company with such a stacked/original library of games is…ridiculous.

This is going to sound selfish but as long as Ryu and Guile are part of the roster I do not care who else is in the game B) . We all know Ryu is in and I am 90% sure that Guile is going to be in it. I say this because every SF has had a Guile-esque character in them. Obviously Nash does not fit that criteria anymore and I really do not think Capcom plans on using Remy. So, yeah, I am pulling for my boy! Plus, just imagine what kind of ability they could give him. Maybe his V-Trigger could make his Sonic Boom and Flash Kick motion specials. Ehhh, that might make him broken.

Guile V-trigger will be Sunglasses Guile

Well of Course! That’s the only way to play him B).

Yeah sf3 didnt sell well because even tho tekken sucked compared as far as game play it was 3d and had better graphics. Thats it. The legit fans didnt kill 3s the consumer did. Sell outs

I don’t mind the speculated 16 character release. As much as everyone screams having more characters, we all know everyone has their main picked out from the get-go with two or three secondaries. I mean, really, even with USFIV’s massive cast most people stuck to their main since Vanilla or SSFIV. So as much as people will complain about SFV have that 70-80% cast (if it happens), I don’t think it will really affect people in the long run. They’ll still buy the game and go back to their main.

So 16 is a decent starting point. We all know the cast will grow with each passing iteration. Hopefully no more than 25-30.

As for myself, I got my main back, Charlie, even if it’s Shadow-Charlie. So I’m set.

Jin pretty much divorced the Devil Bastard side of his family. New characters is what we need and Capcom would never change the iconic costumes because making DLC outfits is what they are about now.

I want most of the characters to be new, I’m fucking sick of the originals. I think they should put in some 3rd strike characters like Urien and Oro but apart from that they need to freshen things up.

Hopefully if they go with a huge roster again the go the marvel route and make it a broken mess so half of the cast is unplayable and you don’t need to learn 40 matchups.

Wouldnt it be violent charlie… Since when m.bison controlled ken he wasnt shadow ken. Was violent ken. Also mean charlie might be op

No, it’s Shadow. That’s what he’s called in MSH vs SF. Violent Ken was the name SNK gave him.

I don’t care about what characters the game will have honestly… just that it isn’t such a huge selection like Ultra. All I want is 10-15 characters, please Capcom.

Keep dreaming. For better or worse, we’re getting about 15 characters out of the box and another 15 probably over the 2-4 years following release.

Personally I think 25-30 is a reasonable number.

Well that’s reasonable over that time span. I just don’t want to see that many characters at the start.

I suppose they did it right with SF 4 then all the updates (AE, Super, Ultra) but I didn’t stick around for all of them since they changed the game way too much. I recently came back for Ultra and the huge cast was overwhelming.

If they go with the 8 originals, i just want to make sure that they are all very strong. No sf4 blanka pls, would much rather a hyper fighting/cvs2 blanka even though i dont use blanka. I uust want strong versions of characters because that makes a feeling of helplessness in matchups much less a problem for me. I know the answer is always “get better” rather than “my character is balls” if capcom is going to spend millions developing characters they could at fucking least not shoot themselves in the foot by making certain characters suck or be underpowered with respect to the rest of the cast.

But i dont have any faith in capcom to do this. As great as capcom is at making a fighting game, theyve NEVER gotten the balancing portion of making a fighting game, really right without unperpowering the entire cast homogenously. Its hard yes, but they fail so badly on most attempts that i have no inclination to believe that they will get it right on sf5.

Tldr:

I care less about what characters make it into the game and more about making all characters balanced and powerful.

I can’t really see them bringing back all the WW and leaving only 7-8 new characters. I just can’t see it. I think it’s time capcom broke tradition.
