Street Fighter II on SNES. This is when it first came out, so I was about 7 or younger at the time. I still remember all my older sister’s friends in the basement crowding around to play. Ah, good times.
Does anybody remember what character they picked? I picked Chun li my 1st time playing.
I think it was back when I was about 7 or 10, and I got this street fighter game for the pc. :wgrin: This was back when there wasn’t any desktop on the monitor…when everything had to be done in dos…I don’t know which version it was though.
I think it was SF2 (SNES) or Fatal Fury (Neo-Geo)…I’m not sure which one came first.

Street Fighter II (not sure which verison) in '91 in Isla Vista, California; VideoMadness Arcade, man those were the days. shortly after it was Street Fighter II for SNES.
the FIRST fighting game i played was probably either SF2 CE or MK2.
the first fighting game that i really understood and played competitively was MvC2. the cab was in a 7eleven when i was in middle school.

First played SFII on SNES at a relatives house and my first character was Dhalsim. I chose him a lot simply because of his long reach.
Original SF2 on my cousin’s SNES.
It was for Sega Genesis and you could only chose 2 chars and it had a Char named Blanka that faught like Blanka from SF and also a Guy who faught with a knife, i wish i knew the name of the game so i can see it again:sad:

Then I got hardcore into KI.
same thing for me man, then I realized I wasn’t playing at all, when some guys told me if I could back away for few minutes. Then I realized I wasn’t playing at all, this was for SF2CE or beyond cause it had the big bad 4. I think I was around 4 or 5. Then around 3 or 4 years later I gotted a PS1 for my first consle.
Sadly the first game had to be frogger. =[ Soon though I was able to get Tekken 3 and I just started playing all night long reading the movelist and stuff like that. I didn’t really get back into SF again intill A3 came out and picked up past SF titles for the PS1. A3 was a hit for me cause of world tour mode where you could edit how your player played.
I never even did get into a a3 tourney I missed out on that.:sad: I was always curious though if you did home consle or some shit like that if they would allow you to use your world tour character. That would of been a intersting thing to see if a3 would of been arcade perfect on the PS1.=[ Since a3 comp died I got into CvS2 and here I am today on SRK.
World Warrior. I don’t remember where, but since then every time I went into an arcade I looked for street fighter…and aliens vs predator…and x-men…and ninja turtles.

SF2 on snes when my cousin rented it. I think i was playing blanka because he looked cool and mashing electricity was easy.
I got my grandma to rent me SF2 on SNES when I was like, 10.
