I really don’t like playing MK9. Even though I like MK series 9 just feels sticky every time I play it.
I’m pretty sure when they make/release the next proper sequel to BB series the hype will be back.

I just cannot get into Extend as much as I did CS2. It just feels so boring.
(I say after over 30,000+ games since CS1 ;_; )
Dat Jubei/Kokonoe/Phantom/Bloodedge/Saya hype.
What annoys me is the “hype” over SFxT, the lack of BlazBlue players nearby, added invincibility frames on Noel, throw Tagers, and the experience of playing Hakumen on a stock PS3 controller. I can agree with the MK9 comments though. I enjoy playing MK, but 9 is a bit too easy for new players and this makes it lose depth once you get people who play fighters in the same room. My best friend loves MK9 and puts more time into it than me, but I can still put up a good fight even on a 360 pad vs his arcade stick. I can’t wait for BB3 though, the hype on that will be insane if they keep the balance good.
I don’t really mind Noel that much, it’s just when the player spams the D Drive and Optic Barrel like they watched Monty Python’s Spamalot on crack over and over again is a pain in the ass for me.
If its any Blazblue character that chafes my thighs like there’s no tommorow, it would be either Taokaka, Tager, or Ragna on Beginner Mode. But when Noel steps in with beginnner mode, gtfo of the lobby right away!
Arakune. Bees. Lockdown. Rape.
That is all
You know what’s harder to fight? A Noel that knows what they’re doing. But oh lord, the Tager buffs. Lord help my poor Noel or my Tao/Arakune subs online against one.
Tager needed that buff, he was actually considered one of the worst characters in BB lol
I know, but it went from like a 65-35 or 7-3 match for him against Noel to like 75-25, online not considered. Scares the crap outta me.
His combo system is a pain in the ass, especially with his magnetism (Good lord pray if you’re magnetised and that gadget finger gets you), and the fact that he has the highest guard vector guage in the game is bad as well. But when players start using beginner/stylish mode, it’s going to take a turn for the worse, which makes any character to face annoying as hell, especially Ragna. There should at least be a handicap for the player that uses that mode, something like a infinite negative state, or slower movement to obstruct combos, like they’ve done with a few gems in SFxT.
There are 2 small handicaps with stylish.
I assure you, not being able to burst is a rather big handicap sometimes.
Not bursting is a huge handicap, Lambda has a combo that can keep good for around 30-40 hits where you would need to burst to escape it and most of the really scary combos people have are the ones that you would burst out of once they start up. Besides that there’s the handicap of not knowing how the game works if you play against someone who does. Trust me, if you know the game, stylish mode doesn’t help the people you’re fighting against. Just play them like they’re not noobs and watch their face when they still get their ass handed to them because they don’t know their approaches and their setups. Stylish mode really shouldn’t let anyone win unless you:
a) don’t know your combos up to around challenge 7ish
b) play like they’re a noob who can’t combo (stylish lets them)
c) you don’t know the play style suited for fighting their character
Its as simple as that, skill will always win it, you just have to keep in mind that they have access to easy combos and can’t burst
Technically, there are a few other drawbacks for stylish mode - #1: You can ONLY barrier block, so you run out your barrier meter quicker and #2: You can’t counter assault.
Didn’t even know about those lol. The people I play with are legit enough to not play stylish
I think you can’t rapid cancel either, but it’s late, and I forget.
The other drawback to stylish is that you know… you cant do real combos.
But anyone that even thinks about using that shitty mode obviously doesnt care about playing the game well/right and is terrible.
Idk, me and my friends do it for lulz occasionally. Playing my main in stylish mode was one of the funniest two rounds of my life
I will admit it’s not for anyone that actually wants to learn the game. It’s for people that don’t play the game and want to just have a few friendly matches with friends. It really is what they advertised, although it is frustrating if you’re learning technical while playing against someone in stylish.
That’s always the drawback about playing fighting games online, when a player like you knows what they’re doing defense and combo-wise, but there’s always this one guy having your ass handed to yourself because the other player is always button mashing the same projectile attack, or when someone’s too fighter retarded to actually use the normal mode over beginner mode, or when someone starts using a combination of M.O.D.O.K, Sentinel and Dormammu and just wipes his ass all over the controller. That happens all the time.
