Uhh… I’d give that to Jubei. He’s still alive you know. He also has that Nox Nyctores that cuts through anything like a hot knife through butter. Even then I’d rate Ragna, Hakumen, Hazama and Rachel stronger than Kokonoe.
Also, considering how random the cast looks already, Platinum is fine. Her personalities bug the shit out of me but she fits fine.
Well, Rachel’s said to be the only being ‘as is’ that can go toe to toe with Hazama at the moment. Like Hakumen and Jubei potentially could, but there’s stuff stopping them. Like, Phantom’s using pure magic to make Jubei sick so he can’t really fight that well, and for some reason Hakumen can currently only fight at 20% capacity. Though, I know there’s that whole random thing in a joke ending where Hazama pissed off Kokonoe and she eloquently explained it as “And Hazama never thought anything again. Period. The end.”.
-But prefers not to / may not actually be GOOD at it
-Not so helpful in a straight up fight
-But has chosen not to, for which “not being good at it” is certainly a plausible explanation.
Well yeah, there’s really nowhere to go with the argument as there’s plausibility and good points to be found on both sides of it and it’s kind of pointless until Aksys or whoever says something about it officially.
Kind of wish people would not be such a pain in the ass when I say I play Taokaka. “Why would you play her? She’s low tier!? Huck huck huck.” I am TERRIBLY sorry that I enjoy playing her and like her as a character immensely.
Also, I would like more people to play with near me…Sucks having one friend who plays! EVO needs to hype this game up again.
Your friends are silly then. Tao’s A-tier. And I think Upper-A tier, instead of the Lower-A tier Noel is. Besides, she’s fun to play and kind of a funny character.
I agree though that EVO needs to hype this game up again. Freaking MK9, and people claiming there’s no scene for BB when there is. Though, if it helps, it tends to make me less salty if I just think we stepped back for a year to let the KOF community (that busted their ASSES since KOFXIII came out in arcades) finally get their day.
I mean, I don’t hate the game and think it’s fun to play, but I’d much rather watch BB than MK9. Though I expect the biggest “this is boring” complaint will be SFxT. It’ll kind of take the Tekken 6 type slot (though Tekken 6 is a solid game, don’t mistake me for saying that it’s not, even though I don’t hate SFxT either) in that it’ll be lower down in the stream-viewing numbers, probably just above MK9. Granted, I’d probably guess the EVO 2012 stream watching/audience numbers would go AE2012>UMVC3>KOFXIII>SCV>SFxT>MK9.
However, I do admit that the problem with the BB community is that it’s spread out and often people from those areas don’t converge in one place. So, it’s not like you’re going to get Blazblue players from Canada, the US, Japan, Australia, and the UK all in the same room.
Sure they get more players in America than BB. But holy shit it’s the only time I stop watching EVO. Last year I suffered the Grand finals watching PerfectLegend pretty much ride the top tier doing typical shit which everyone expected. There was little to no hype and I watched Marvel instead.
SFxT…Hooo Boy. I think this is going to be the least hype game in EVO history. It’s the slowest and most gruelling game I’ve ever played. Buggy, Rushed, Slow, Boring. Prepare for stream monsters.
Street Fighter (AE, HD, 3s) + UMvC3 + KOF13 + SCV + BB + Various Side Tourneys along with after hours runbacks.
It’s odd I guess, and I can get the hate for them, but I normally don’t hate on a fighting game. The closest thing was Skullgirls when it first came out and that was 95% based on people dumping BB for it and a lot of different communities praising it for “not being all cartoony like Blazblue is with the stupid stereotypes and weird female things” while having like a nurse and maid or something in it and being cartoony itself. So, my gripe there was with the amount of double standards people had for it and nothing to do with the quality of the game.
The good (and bad) thing about SFxT and MK9 is that, and especially the case in MK9 they’re what I’d call “gateway fighters” in that, at least with MK9 there’s a lot of stuff beginners and everyone will like and love, and the potential for deeper development. However, it’s not terribly deep or complex at its core and the MK series still has a bit to go, so it has kind of a lower “glass ceiling” of hype to it compared to others, which sometimes causes it to be less exciting. It may not be the right description entirely, but it’s the closest thing I can think of right now.
KOFXIII on the other hand is ridiculously hype, and is going to be what I’m looking forward to most. So damn proud of that community, and everyone who fought and pushed for it to get into EVO because that game is really good and deserves a chance to shine. I guess my hope is just that next year in 2013, BB will be back up next to it because I think when we finally got our EVO spot last year, some people took it for granted and thought that we wouldn’t have to fight so hard to get a spot in this years and kind of became complacent (while others foolishly thought SFxT wouldn’t be at EVO which, as much as people may not like it, people had to know WOULD be there), which caused the word about tournaments and stuff to get around less, some things to become less hype, and us unfortunately (and still kind of wrongly in my eyes) losing our EVO spot. If any good can come from us not getting our EVO spot a 2nd year in a row, it’s that I hope it makes the Blazblue community as a whole rise up and work even harder to make damn sure we get it BACK next year because we have to show we want the game to have its spot bad, or they won’t think we want it. The KOF Community showed how hype they can be and how much they wanted it, and I guess for EVO 13, we as a whole can follow their example.
Sorry if any of that sounded ranty, like rambling, or preachy by the way. That wasn’t my intent.
Unfortunately I think the majority of the BB community will just roll over and accept it. It’s a shame but I’ve come to accept the fact that US Blazblue players just don’t represent enough. It’s a different story in Japan and Europe, Though.
I agree. KOFXIII is going to be so hype. That and AE. Possibly marvel.
dunno you but i feel that for the next evo, the spot would go for p4u
if we go by what asw did this year on sbo, we can assume that they would try to push it on the american market
But…isn’t P4U not much less/just as anime-ish as BB in the same way SG is as cartoony and has as many female stereotypes as BB and AH3, but is accepted more?
