I Told You So. Ftw!!!
2d: gg
3d: vf (obviously, i think this is accepted)
wow I always thought gg was easy to learn and pick up. I cant do shit in Marvel, that game moves entirley too fast for my place style.
Even Guilty players told me they have a better chance at placing in guilty then in Marvel or 3s cause its simply too hard to win in 3s and Marvel with guys like Justin Wong out there.
I dont see where skill comes in at in guilty when you give a guy 7 or 8 special moves to work with. Should be easy to come up with some kind of offense with all that shit handed to ya.
I still think 3s is very technical cause of the parry. U cant get away with all that lock down madness with a parry in the game. Gotta really choose every opening an attack option ya know.
just my two cents
Outro
VF
Multiple Throw Escapes and ETE(5 and up) >>>>>> me
MvC2 (and the first, really) are the banes of my fighting game existence. Even after months of trying, I could not both memorize so many combos and techniques and execute them with the timing they require. It’s like, I can memorize them pretty easily, but I have never been able to recall them on the fly and execute them without thinking too hard and losing my concentration. A3 I can handle. 3S I can do. MvC2… no. It’s fun, I enjoy it, but not when the other people who play either completely destroy me, or watch me and another guy on my level play and laugh at us for not being as good as they are.
this might get me negged
the most TECHNICAL fighter, the fighter that has constant ability to create fresh problems and answers, not jus with what you see but feel, arent those games
marvel you train ALOT but why? it rewards like an rpg and leaves no room for fresh thinking, there is no CONSTANT wave of creating new and 100% useful tactics.
the punishment of combo familiarity is too low, its like holding in a fart then finally arriving home.
i love mvc2, but only in a bedroom sense mvc2 wins
I totally disagree, I’ve watched MVC2 evolve drastically in it’s 6 years of existance. Just by watching vids Preppy’s site in a 6 month period you see many new styles being adopted and discarded, especially with Magneto.
Battletoads, hands down.
so. does anyone have any comments on other games other than mvc2 and gg, or is that all people play on srk. wtf. im sure there are more games with depth that can be mentioned. i mentioned tekken, vf, mvc2 and hnk. i mainly play tekken, but i can speak on mvc2, all of sf, and vf a little. speak on somethin. whatsup with hnk for those who play it, or at least know something of it. whatsup with sc or doa. im just sayin. thread got a little monotanous
I can’t believe no one has mentioned Garou. That game is insanely hard to play. You got to be quick and precise to get anywhere.
You can quintuple throw escape lol? I’m honestly not sure that’s even possible with some sort of cheating.
im gonna disagree on the garou thing, garou is not that complicated of a game. Your gonna have a hard time convincing anyone that acctualy knows the game that mashing on back to JD a super is skillfully. Dont get me wrong theres breaks and what not, but no where near a game like GG(which im not even sure I would call teh most techincal game)in terms of finger skill etc.
I say Marvel. I’m still amazed at what people can do with certain characters and how unique people get with what they are given.
Lol and what pros in VF4 have u been playing? If a noob can beat a so called pro, they are far from being a pro.
2-D: Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure or marvel vs capcom 2
3-D: VF4 Evo
8 frame throw escape window. I assume VF let’s you do any number of escapes in that period. It’s just really really fucking hard to 1. react to 2. then mash out all 5 escapes in that time.
Technically possible (each escape is executed in 1 frame). but incredibly difficult. I only get 2 escapes in about a third of the time.
breaking is easy :wonder:
I’m mainly referring to guard crushes and feint cancel combos
JoJo’s another good one. Fairly strict timing required.
hmmmm idk about that. Breaking is easy to talk about. But i wanna see you pull out some of that serious kain shit in a match. Don’t go all badass unless you can put that shit down in a match. Off topic… way to handle up on ya’ll crew and not let someone talk down on you like that.
3d- definately vf
2d gonna have to say gg actually. while marvel is hard to play, were talking about marvel on the highest level, but not ggxx on the highest level. top level ggxx is pretty sick.
apetusHadou: Here is a question
IapetusHadou: Which game takes more skill to play, CE or ST?
SeasOfCheese929: "no supers to cover ur ass"
SeasOfCheese929: CE
IapetusHadou: Haha
IapetusHadou: As much as I like your answer, it is actually a trick question
SeasOfCheese929: the way i see it
SeasOfCheese929: take good ol’ Gief for example
SeasOfCheese929: in ST, he has the banishing flat, several kinds of 360 moves, and a sick super
SeasOfCheese929: in CE, all he has is a lariat and the SPD
IapetusHadou: Good logic
IapetusHadou: But I have a theory
IapetusHadou: In SRK they diss anyone that plays any SF2 game other than ST
IapetusHadou: Saying ST is more advanced and skillful
IapetusHadou: and I argue that a game’s skill is directly proportional to the consumer base playing it
IapetusHadou: It is a 2-player game
SeasOfCheese929: …i never thought about it like that
SeasOfCheese929: a game only requires enough skill necesarry to defeat your opponent
SeasOfCheese929: therefore the skill required of the game is based on the skill of ur opponent
IapetusHadou: Exactly
SeasOfCheese929: interesting
Booyah. Game over.
