I got a hilarious message against a 10k guile/something player. I tried sealing the match with a faked jump-in low mix-up, and instead ate a raw launcher to the face for the lose. I was so amazed that I sent the message: “Was that an option select or a good read?” And the response back was “i ejaculated out a mistimed alpha counter”. At least he was honest ROFL
i play a team of cammy/ken just to learn the game and mess around…

I got my first piece of hate mail. eatfastdieyoung I believe the players name was. He was running Ken/Kazuya (I run Cammy/Kazuya) His whole strategy consisted of “start round. Are they walking towards me? JUMP BACK! Are they standing still now? JUMP FORWARD”. Needless to say, there was much cannon spiking.
So after a round of that it became “Rolling is unbeatable”. I closed the match out by waiting for each roll, blocking the inevitable shoryuken and either punishing or just throwing before he got the chance.
Eatfastdieyoung: “God the amount of players like you abusing lag tactics is ridiculous. Why don’t you learn how to fucking play?”
Me: “Cute”
Eatfastdieyoung: “Find a cliff, jump. Fuck you and your 84% avoidance rate. No wonder your rep is so low. Also, r u gay? No one says cute”

I’ll admit, that part made me laugh. I never understood the purpose of that either. I had like a 56% avoidance rate and I was like, “Great. Does that mean I’m too good for people? Madness!”

I only got 2 hate mail messages ever since I began to playing online a few years ago and got them playing SFxT because I got tired of being jumped on because it was all the guy was doing jumping in time and time again. I just decided to jump away on 2 occasions to run down the clock because I was being lazy and wanted to preserve a win. I got called some nasty words for it and I was quick to agree with the guy because I had a bad day online losing alot of matches that night. I have been playing better since then and don’t avoid things in that way too often but it does get boring watching the same basic tactic happen constantly though.
I’d be lying if I even thought that made any sense at all.

Used to get hatemail all the time but it stopped when I hit 10,000 BP. It’s like people think the stupid crap I do is good just because I have a decent-sized number attached to my name.
One particular story was pretty freaky to me though. I start up a match vs two people, one a 10,000 BP Abel and another around 5,000 with Ogre. As soon as the match starts I hear the Abel player telling his friend all about me. I mean this guy had a full profile on me. “This guy is a spammer, always spams Fury Fist with Law; if it whiffs, he jabs; if it’s blocked, he backdashes,” etc. Now, some of the stuff he was saying was very true but at the time I was just shocked and angry that he had me boiled down to a flowchart.
Match starts, I destroy him without any difficulty. His only damage dealt to me was the magic series he used to get his teammate in (who was a lot better btw) but I still won both games.
But afterwards, the creepiness of this guy resonated with me. I sent him a message and he says he plays me all the time. I’m 90% sure that he does not.

You post any games to youtube by chance? Or maybe he changed his name and you don’t recognize. Despite any answer that is creepy as fuck.

No, I didn’t post any but it just occurred to me that you can ‘follow’ players in the replay channel.
It prevents other players from playing you. If I decide I don’t like your “cheap” tactics and don’t want to see you again, I “avoid player” and it makes it so that I don’t see you often if at all. Its not as obvious in this game but its very obvious in SSFIV. In SSFIV when you would join a lobby or ranked game and it gave a message “Unable to join game” that can sometimes be the system auto-kicking you because the player has put you on an avoid list. It doesn’t work all that well in every game but its useful if someone has an annoying mic on all the time or literally cheats (say using hacked characters in SFxT).
