Lag will probably be average, I try not to play online much anymore just because it totally screws with my offline timing. I can’t even parry in 3s online at all!
oh well we can wait on the umk3 then. it’s no prob…your friends list was full anyway…save the space because we will get to play in real life soon enough…i’ve got other things to help with my patience lol. Oblivion…haha stealing things is fun…esp when you turn invisible lol.

It is nice to see that there are more players here in middle TN. I think some of the problem is that we dont really advertise ourselves. I grew up in Columbia, TN with the likes of Alphakami–he is the one that turned me from a scrub to actually pretty decent. Then marriage/kids turned me from pretty decent to blah again, lol. WE have been playing for years, but we were pretty much limited to the local circle of players in the area. Little did we know that there was another in our same town…a machine by the name of Fraley. We never knew of his existence, but he was REALLY good. We never had the arcade scene here to foment that kind of matchmaking. NOw that we have SRK, it is a lot easier to see who else is playing what in the area. It isnt like ATL or SF or one of the big cities, but every bit of help is great:)

Z Ism Rose: Good to see someone plays other games around there. I am going to try and have some type of tournament when I get there (arcade/console) that is going to basically be a “garage” tournament since I am going to put cabinets in the garage (no glare) and a Cigarbob style arcade machine for console tournaments. Hopefully people show up for this one!
Scott: No kidding, all we are babbling about are arcade cabinets and 3rd Strike and UMK3, and when the heck we are going to play. Mid-May is when I am thinking. The sooner we find a house, the sooner I move there. My gf is moving earlier than I am.

I am so addicted to xbox live umk3…i am getting so lucky with no lag. i’m glad i have a good internet connection!!
Oh and today I did my first g combo in UMK3…guy had about 4/5 of a life bar and i took it all away in the corner with sindel…hp into scream repeated like 4 times then did the launcher combo to finish…I felt so manly.
Middle TN is a great area to live. I live in Lebanon, and it is 20 miles east of Nashville. It isnt too crowded, and the rate of living is pretty fair. Since Nashville os pretty close, you wont really miss much. Tournaments would be pretty good. Maybe some of the people in the midstate area will come out of their hiding spots and support the local scene:) What kind of tournies do you plan on throwing? I mean, game selection, that is. Wouldnt mind seeing Vampire Savior, but that is more of a crack dream:(

I can essentially support whatever the players want to a point. I have enough arcade boards for this sort of thing, but if we want a true arcade tournament, it would have to be either a retail location (which will take me awhile) or my garage, which depends on what kind of house we get may or may not fit everyone. At the very least, that will bring more people for console and still not take away from the arcade aspect as much.
I know everyone is moving towards console, but it really is a higher definition and degree of skill than arcade. If everyone wanted to “be like Japan” (yes, I am going off on a tangent here) we would toss the console thing aside and just play what they want for SBO.
In any event, first tournament I was thinking:
ST Arcade
A3 Anthology (console)
Guilty Gear X2 Reload (console, and because the other games never came out in the usa yet)
MVC2 Dreamcast (Console)
3rd Strike Arcade
and whatever anyone else suggests, but it might take me a bit to set everything up when I move in.
You are so right about the jap thing… console is lame, arcade is so much better. Plus there is something about a arcade machine that just wraps me up in the game more and plus it is very sturdy too, my stick moves on me alot when i play on console and i miss some qcf motions that i should never miss.

Maybe have T5 on console to try and get more heads, maybe convert them to 2d goodness

I love Mk2, even though it’s even cheaper than umk3…it just has so many good memories for me. mainly the arcade in my area being jam packed because of it

SDouble: I have a Saturn MAS Stick, and Japanese Hori Saturn Sticks. Lag on converters is minimal, but it’s there.

Very few play CvS2 and Marvel. in nashville, arcades…unless you want tekken comp
