Wesker Combo Thread

Is it possible to combo off of an L command throw without having the gun shot into teleport be the next moves? I’m nearly certain Renegade told me one on AIM like a month ago, but I didn’t save the transcript and don’t remember it. (And Renegade, if you see this, do I remmeber correctly also that you recommended the M version of the throw in the corner?)

Anyway, I almost never use the command throws and wish to change that. I’m looking for ease and consistency rather than flash, but figure the L throw’s added range makes it superior to the easier-to-combo-off-of H version. I’ll do the gun shot combo too if I have to, but if an easier alternative exists, I’d at least like to know it. Any general command grab tips? Thanks!

I think it’s only possible in the corner. I assume you can just start with c.M and finish the combo from there.

That’s some crazy stuff. I was worried Wesker was never getting any new combos at this rate.

Theres some really cool stuff in that video… mostly team chemistry stuff Wesker can do with other characters. Also, there was some pointless stuff in there lol like that one combo where they use his Counter Super in between his own OTG combo continuation. Could have just OTG’d without that counter super. Some combo the damage was scaled to shit and you are better off with your regular Wesker BnB’s.

Wesker is not a combo character. If you like playing characters that can do really fancy stuff Wesker isn’t the guy. In fact I really don’t think you should be practicing combos with Wesker much outside of 2-3 situational BnB’s and focus on his post mixup game which is much more crucial.

Look at Viscant. He basically uses the same combo with Wesker everytime. What makes his Wesker nuts is how well he can execute all of his mix up options after the actual combo.

LOL!!! As a combo video artist 99% of the things we do are considered ‘pointless’. Its an exhibition to show you what Wesker is capable of. We all know keeping it simple with Wesker will net you the W. What’s the point of having a combo thread if your going to throw everything out the door cept BnB + 2-3 situational combos… The point of my video is flash/unique/creative ideas. I understand the crazy scaling. I still would rather push further on if the potential is there…

The combo with the counter super that doesnt hit… that’s just a combo to show you that Wesker could do all 3 of his supers in one combo… Had the counter super actually hit Dormammu would have died before the final super.

I appreciate the feedback :smiley: Just keep in mind that a lot of combo videos are to open the eyes and imagination versus altering gameplay and strats.

May I ask somethin’ that sounds very newbie…?
Is a special “timing tip” is needed to connect cr.M after Wesker’s Samurai Edge Low Shot? I’ve been trying for times and times by I dunno why I can’t connect these 2 commands? Is “meoshi” is required here? Pressing cr. M too fast will end in a teleport?

I can’t believe some crap that happened to me tonight while playing. I was playing one of those Wesker’s that do absolutely nothing but Gun shot and teleporting H. Some how he was in X-factor and he just kept doing gun shot teleport H, gun shot teleport H and it was actually working. I have never seen that before and I’m pretty sure this guy had no idea what the hell he was doing because that’s all he was doing, even without X-factor.

a little wesker midscreen BnB that I’ve been working on for more meter, damage and style. uses the gun loop so it’s gonna whiff on smaller characters. got it to work on bigger chars like dormammu, hulk, thor etc.

c.:l:, c.:m:, c.:h: xx f.:h: ~ :l:, c.:m: s.:h: (2-hits) xx f.:h: ~ :l:, c.:m:, c.:h: xx :qcf: + :l:, call assist, :df: + :h:, :qcf: + :m:, :qcf: + :l:

sends them to the corner right into the option setups. the gun loop requires some precise timing on when to hit :l: to teleport. it needs to be exactly when the gun connects with the opponent.

also, I’ve found it odd that confirming off c.:l: into the gun loop normally doesn’t work on average-sized characters (tested on chris and storm), but starting from c.:h: will work. I dunno if it’s just my faulty day 3 execution on stick, but I couldn’t get the first (xx gun) part to work on them since the it would always whiff.

you should definitely show that to keits. that totally looks like the type of vids he likes to put up on the front page of srk lol. personally i like your vid way better than some i’ve seen on the front page

So has anyone worked with Wesker and exchange combos?
I just discovered yesterday that if you’ve got Wesker as your second and you exchange him in, instead of continuing the air combo you can use his downward teleport to get to the bottom and restart your combo, and even relaunch for another exchange.
I haven’t seen this anywhere in videos or SRK even, so I’m pretty excited at finding that out myself.
Definitely gonna hit the lab and see what I can come up with!

I’m pretty sure I’ve seen it done on stream before.

Hey i have a corner combo that you can use to style on someone it can be done in xfactor 3 to kill or in ammy’s vale mist

qcf. l, cr.h, low gun shot it loops only twice because u get pushed to far away but afterwards you can go into any combo you want, its a lil flashy but only meant to style on

also with ammy’s mist you can do weskers gun loop without xfactor

Probably not. Though, pretty much any assist you pick will be able to help Wesker extend a combo since he can do the OTG parts himself. A few easy ones that I can recall:

Iron Man - Unibeam
Thor - Mighty Smash
Akuma - Tatsu
Haggar - Lariat
Spencer - Slant Shot
Chun Li - Lightning Legs
Dante - any 3
