My buddy and main opponent is getting a bit tired of Vergil, I really only picked him up to demonstrate how dumb he is anyway. But, my recent play has made me really really enjoy Wesker. Really been diggin em w/ Task arrows as well. So Im thinkin as a Vergil-less alternative doing something like Wesker Task Akuma.
Ive got some decent tricks w/ Tatsu, but in the spirit of “the more the merrier” and “the posters here know way more than me,” thought I’d inquire about any particularly dirty Tatsu Wesker stuff. Be it mixups, end-of-combo resets, or zoning patterns, figure it was worth asking.
To anyone who knows zero about the pairing, one thing I can offer is that Tatsu stops making contact on block earlier than it appears, meaning opponents leave blockstun while Tatsu is still physically on screen. Long story short: you can get some decent command grab ticks off a well positioned blocked Tatsu.
I’m trying to think… which assists can give Wesker a consistent additional hit after an OTG gunshot at the end of a long combo (or long enough that HSD affects things)? For example Unknown has Viper Burn Kick assist which is surprisingly good for this. He can Snap, Max Wesker, lvl 3, jab reset, and in some cases launch again. Im struggling to think of many other assists that can do this.
Rapid Slash basically can, I dont use Spencer but I imagine his grapple does, I havent tested but am GUESSING Weasel Shot can, Nova Cent Rush can. Any others? Hawk and Task arrows def cannot (they flip), Akuma Tatsu they cannot (which surprised me). Plasma Beam doesn’t work either (also surprising). I tried Dark Hole with high hopes, but they’ll flip out of a Maximum Wesker half the time.
Im just messing around w/ various non-Vergil Wesker teams, and am likin the Wesker Sent xx shell, but dont want to use Viper. Can usually corner carry or close on a hit, but by the time you get to the final OTG, the opp is very ready to flip out, so guaranteeing yourself that last pop requires much more specific assists than it would seem.
Could Jam Session work in corner maybe? Comboing off Jam is annoying. Lariat prob works, but anchor Hagger bleh. Log Trap very likely works, but also kinda bleh. Magneto grav assist?? lol
I use Wesker/Nova/Sentinel as my secondary team to learn another character (Wesker) and here’s a cool combo as my BnB:
cr , cr :h:, Cobra Strike, (Phantom Move :l: followup), Samurai Edge (Lower Shot), cr , Cobra Strike, (Phantom Move :l: followup), Samurai Edge (Lower Shot), cr :h:, Cobra Strike, (Phantom Move :l: followup), :a1: (right after the teleport), Samurai Edge (Lower Shot), Jaguar Dash+Kick, Ghost Butterfly, Delayed Phantom Move :h:, air Samurai Edge + :a2:, Cobra Strike, (Phantom Move :l: followup), Samurai Edge (Lower Shot) [Drones Should hold them in place now], (Tiger Knee) Air Phantom Dance
One thing is certain is that sometimes you have to dash once before the TK Phantom Dance in order to land the most hits in case you end up in the corner.

Considering I love Strange and Dante, have pretty good execution with them and have been wanting to play point wesker for a long time I think I might join the Wesker, Strange, Dante users.
Don’t get me wrong I love Wesker in the RE games but in Marvel 3 I was turned off by his simplicity but after seeing Yipes’ point wesker I’ve fallen in love again and have been wanting to use point wesker for a long time.
Which DHC to Spencer, Bionic Arm or Maneuvers? In either case, you won’t get any decent extensions IF you used your wall bounce with Wesker already (as most of his more optimized combos do).
Otherwise, you can input Bionic Arm as the last hits them and you can see them spinning down to the ground. As for Maneuvers, I’m not so sure as of right now.
You could also do with the more standard extension:
LMH qcf.L~L 3H M qcf.L~L 3H 2M 2H qcf.L~L Call Strange 3H (1st) H qcf.M (2nd) (the 2nd hit will hit between H and qcf.M)
And then dash or teleport according to the screen to get midscreen maximum Wesker.

@Gefen try this out, cr.m, cr.h, qcf-l~l, df.h, cr.m, cr.h, df.h, cr.m, cr.h, strange, df.h~h, df.h… was a while ago I tinkered with it since I dropped Strange.
You can still squeeze a tiny bit more by doing a delayed :h: teleport followed by falling gunshot then Cobra Strike ( :l: Teleport).
What I don’t know is if you can still land a Jaguar Dash+Kick after the falling gunshot, but I fear that depending on the combo, they may fall out of the combo as soon as you hit them with Jaguar Dash.
