I have to concur as well Silver Rain. The tournament went pretty smooth for the most part. And since this was pool play drops dont have too much of an effect on the end result. Well setup and executed man. Competition was fierce too. I have a lot to learn. Dont know if I have the energy or desire after playing some of these guys as they are in a different league. Good stuff though.

See… here’s where its really important to get alot more people involved. This league is already blessed with some incredible (ridiculous really…) talent. But its not very well diluted amongst our league, the more people we get in, the more we dilute the talent, the more chances people will have to be successful. Of course, if our league never grows beyond this, its already been an incredible success. Of course, it went so well, I may actually get to play next week!

Great tournament! Unfortunately 6:30 PST is a non starter for me as I don’t get home from work until 8, usually. I’ll make an effort to see if I can leave early today but the chances of that are low. Any chance we can make it later?
The problem is any later and you’re talking about starting at 11 EST. I mean if we could get a consensus to push it back, I’m not opposed to that. But it would have to be something we could all agree on. I know pushing it back works better for Marsgatti as well. The rest is up to you guys on that. But I would like to settle on a time so that we can maximize the number of people who could play.
Let me know if you can’t make it. We can see if we can get someone to take your spot. Maybe De Mavrick (as the next qualifier) would be interested.
Yeah, it would be a bit hard to push EST later on weekdays. 9:30 EST works well for me, I guess something like 30 minutes later could also work, but pushing regular play past a weekday midnight isn’t something I’d personally want to maintain (assuming the tourney takes about two hours).
11 EST the latest, assuming tourney takes no longer than 1 hour.
See I’m with you guys. Even with 8 it might take a little more than an hour. So if Zass is a drop (which is perfectly fine tonight) we’ll need two replacements because Marsgatti has class. So if someone can get ahold of Mavrick and DJ Mike Haggar if they’re available at 9:30 EST and 6:30 PST they are in and Mavrick will take Mars spot and Haggar would take Zass’s spot on the spreadsheet

Okay, pool play is on Mondays. Tournament play is on Tuesdays. So if you didn’t qualify for tonight’s tourney you’re off the hook, unless of course you’d like to watch some of the matches (which I guess i haven’t really talked about!).
I’ll have new pools and those will be posted on Thursday morning. We give new entries until Wednesday at midnight to sign up and then Thursday we post pools for next Monday and people can then sign up for the next week’s action. So I know you said you may be willing to record matches when this first started, I know Thelo can record his matches and Alex his, so if you want to find matches where no one can record and record those that’d be great. Just announce that you’ll be recording whatever match number so those people can create room for three people and then after each match you can leave and come back in. Or if you just want to do your own thing that’s fine.
The moral of the story… Pool Play Mondays and tourney tuesdays. However, not every week will be the same. Some Tuesdays we’ll have larger tournaments than 8 people, some Tuesdays we’ll have multiple tournaments, one for top qualifiers and one for second qualifiers, we’ll do all sorts of different things.
I won’t be able to make next weeks pool play.

We can try, the only two responses I’ve gotten back so far are from Damdai and Thelo. Damdai said he can only go to midnight (that’ll really cut it close I think, 'cause I think it’ll take about an hour and a half) and Thelo was right to note that going much past midnight on a weekday isn’t great for the next day (I wake up at 5 a.m. every morning…) If all 6 others (excluding Zass and Marsgatti) are on board, than I’ll go along, but if not we’ll keep the alternates.
That doesn’t mean your disinvited from the league or that you can’t do pool play either. I’ve told Marsgatti even though he has a night class on Tuesdays, he can still do pool play every week on Monday. If you’re not going to be available on any Tuesday that’s okay, you can still play Monday nights. Hopefully this is just a one off situation and as this goes on it’ll be easier to schedule around.
I can try to leave work earlier today… I could make 7:30 pst, I think, which would be 10:30 est.
For me its not about mondays or tuesdays, its simply that weeknights I don’t get home until 8 or so. I can probably push it to 7:30. That’s just how my job is.

Seriously, I was thinking about you the other day wondering… Where the hell is Jiggly? I hadn’t seen you on much lately so… you know… Well you know we want you in this league too! You can still sign up and register even if you can’t play immediately.
That’s a note for everyone, just because you can’t play immediately or even the next week, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t sign up! The more people we have, the more information we have, the better. Also, that means you need to tell your HDR playing friends that THEY need to sign up for the league too. Also, we may have an exciting announcment about the league in a couple weeks so stay tuned!
BACK TO TONIGHT’S BUSINESS: If we can do 10:30 EST / 7:30 PST that doesn’t sound bad. Is everyone okay with that? I think finishing by midnight is really the main thing for most people and since I still haven’t heard from alternates…If I can get everyone’s agreement on that then we’ll go with that tonight. If I can’t get everyone’s agreement we’ll go at 9:30 as scheduled with alternates and we’ll get this cleaned up for next week. It’s just a little bit harder with the majority of our players being in EST… now if we could get some PSTers to get some more PST people to sign up… it’d be less of an issue 
I was in Denver for like a month, so I wasn’t on HDR. But yeah, you can sign me up. I’m just not gonna be on reliably for a while. Its killing me. MUST TYPHOON SOMEONE.
Okay, just submit all the required information as listed (now thanks to Thelo’s advice) on the first post of the thread.
Also, I guess for the future, maybe I should ask, would people prefer Monday pool play, Wednesday tourney? I don’t know if people want to break it up that way or not, I would have thought back to back nights would have been preferable, but let me know your opinion.
I will post on this forum no later than 8:00 EST confirming the start time tonight.
Okay, so next week, here’s what I’d like to try. Because its young we can play around with things. Let’s do 9:30 EST pools next week (unless I get swarms of hate mail saying 8:00 is where it belongs) and lets do 9:30 PST pools as well next week. We’ll cut down the time between matches to 10 minutes so that should speed that along a little bit. I’m still debating Tuesday tourney time. I mean 9:30 EST is nice because you can still run larger tournaments and be done before midnight… But if moving it to Wednesday means you can have a 9:30 start time, then we’ll run Wednesday tournaments and maybe we’ll have to expand and put something else into Tuesday nights…
For me, later is fine (better, even). 10:30, 11 EST, whatever.
Is there any way to push Monday night’s pool play a bit later? It was fine this week as it was Labor Day (no work). But I normally work every Monday and don’t get home until 9:30. This is really fun and I’d hate to miss out!
Also, I’m currently uploading my vids to the youtube page. Gonna take a while, though. One of my matches didn’t record because memory was full (vs. mars). Note that my camera’s mic is broken, so there’s no sound. I just dub music over the videos so they’re not silent. Anyway, that’s that and e-mails have been sent.
Either way is fine for me.
