ALRIGHT! First of all I want to send a HUGE thank you to everyone who participated last night. As expected we had some rough patches at our first outing, but overall, I would call last night a success.
For uploading videos… we have created a youtube page
I have no problem giving this out and having people upload stuff there. Obviously, different people have different capabilities and the WWL appreciates your help in keeping our matches in a central location, of course feel free to post your own matches specifically on your channel as you see fit! Also, along that line, let me say, Thelo’s titling could not be more perfect, so lets have people use a similar format, if anything, we may even want to include the Pool Data say… EST Pool A at the end so we’ll be able to keep them organized, so thanks to Thelo for that tidbit of knowledge (hopefully he won’t mind reposting them there)
Of course for all that, I’d like to discuss what I learned last night. Even with the invention of instant communication, sometimes things happen and people can’t make it. I understand this. So, for everyone who couldn’t make it this week, no worries. But I would like to implement a new rule. If you can’t make it to an event that week, please… PLEASE try to give 24 hours notice. Now, if you can’t, you can’t. I understand. So if you’re a drop three times without a notice, you’ll be given a week’s suspension. I know maybe it sounds childish to ‘hand out punishments’ but hopefully that little nugget will be enough to get people to try to give just a little advance notice and I understand things happen and this is not life, so three times seems pretty fair I think. If you were unable to make it last night, you are still VERY welcome in this league. We’ll be holding events on Mondays and Tuesdays so mark your calendars. If this schedule doesn’t work for you and you’d like to drop out for now, please e-mail me at worldwarriorsleague@gmail.com
ALSO, please, again, e-mail results to worldwarriorsleague@gmail.com The sooner I get those results the sooner I can start tabulating and bracketing. Also please include who you played and who your opponent played. I think when you see how ambitious our record keeping is going to be you’ll see why. The website, BTW, is looking great in case anyone was curious :D.
So, for pool play was 12 minutes too long? I know this week was skewed because of all the drops, but what was your general feeling, especially for all the matches that went the full 3 games?
OF COURSE, lets get down to business now! Everyone wants to know about last nights results!
PST Pool A
Zass 30 - 21 pts
Evoanon - 16 pts
DJ Mike Haggar - 15 pts
Smooth4200 - 12 pts
EST Pool A
Thelo - 27 pts
PFW91 - 25 pts
DJI SRK - 22 pts
De Mavrick - 19 pts (tiebreaker over Sweet Poison)
Sweet Poison - 16 pts
AR Rune Kai - 12 pts
EST Pool B
Marsgatti2009 - 21 pts
Damdai - 19 pts
Alex6x6x6 - 16 pts
SattaMasagana - 13 pts
NGE Krazy Tiger - 11 pts (Couldn’t get that third game…)
Swater Dan - 8 pts
So, we’re taking three from each of the EST pools and taking 2 from the PST pool. You’ll notice that # 4 in EST pool A has more points but ‘played’ more matches and picked up free wins through drops so had the pool sizes been the same, its hard to say. BUT: Without any further ado, (and please I need e-mails from these people ASAP so I can send them the excel spreadsheet with the instructions), your final 8 for tonights Tuesday tournament!
(1) - Thelo The Great
(8) - Alex6x6x6
(4) - EvoAnon
(5) - Damdai
(3) - Zass30
(6) - PFW91
(2) - Marsgatti2009
(7) - DJI SRK
This will be a full double elimination 8 man tournament. 15 minuts inbetween each fight starting at 9:30 EST / 6:30 PST. If 5 minutes have passed and 1P (the top person) has not contacted you and you have tried to contact them and they have not responded, it is a drop and you win (Good lord I hope that doesn’t happen tonight…). Also, to all 8 contestants, I will send you the spreadsheet showing how the tournament will flow out. All you have to do is put the number of games won between the two of you and excel will do the rest. If you don’t have excel go to openoffice.org and download it for openoffice calc, its the same thing and works the exact same way. (the fields are highlighted so you know where to put the number of games won and it’ll tell you where to go)
Also: Post your results here on SRK. Each match is numbered so that’ll help your next opponent to know where they need to go on their bracket to see who they play next. It should be like…
Match # 1 Thelo beats Alex (2-1)
Then when I fill that out in excel it’ll move Thelo and Alex appropriately to their next match (Thelo to match 7, Alex to match 5) and when you fill out everyone elses results for matches 1-4 it’ll bracket itself and you’ll know who you face. Also the schedule is pretty straight forward and detailed on the spreadsheet. Matches 1-4 happen at the same time, 5-8, etc. until you get down to the grand finals, which are best 3 of 5. If the winners bracket loses the first grand final, 1p and 2p switch and have another 3 of 5 set. Good luck tonight everybody!
