I did use Trickster the most. Gunslinger had no appeal for me aside from Gunstinger.
I ended up using gunslinger the most because I relied heavily on Ebony & Ivory.
Re: DMC4: I keep getting ‘A’ rank in all my missions, thanks to the exploration and puzzle bits. What am I missing out by not hitting ‘S’ and higher?
I’m only at the 5th mission but my opinion so far is the non-combat portions grind the fun in this game to a screeching halt. The camera, the puzzles, Nero’s slow running… that combination is making the game a chore. Not what I expected from a game that’s billed as balls-out awesome/badass or whatever.
I will admit that I’m head over heels in luvv with DMC’s combo/ranking combat system, even though it’s not new to anybody but me.
Oh and the combat tune is fuck awesome.
ninja gaiden was designed to piss people off. shit was kinda boring imo. first 2 levels were ok then it just went downhill…
anyway I just tried dmc4 demo…yeah def looking forward to this one…
Two more missions after that. Mission 19 AKA Mega Man style fight all the bosses and Mission 20: Final boss
:wtf: Didnt you people use sword master @ all? I barely touched trickster, and royal guard just seems to slow down the gameplay too much, they shoulda combined it with sword master IMO
I sucked with Royal Guard so I was switching off between Gunslinger (most often) and sword master.
What about in terms of weapons? I used mostly Beowulf with Agni rudra backup.
Dont worry I used sword master a lot.
I’m going through DMC3 (SE) again, using Swordmaster. Can’t wait until I get Beowulf: Shin Shoryuken -> Hurricane Kick madness!
Who didn’t use swordmaster? It was the only other style I used besides Trickster. Trickster was just my main style that’s all. Especially when fighting bosses. SM was good when you fought a good amount of enemies on at once like Mission 2 or Mission 7.
I think we got the artbooks just in the past 2 days, i copped mines with quickness before we gave them out. Pretty neat just dont like the crappy binding they did for some strange odd reason. I played DMC3 SE and loved trickster going thru it with swordmaster got too get used too it all over again.
i think i might buy the 3 pack when i pick up Dmc4. 1 and 3SE are some of my favorite games
Beowulf kicked my ass hoard in DMC3. Cerberus wasn’t too bad for me.
Beat the game. I was sort of surprised by the issues they didn’t resolve.
Things NOT in the game…
[details=Spoiler]
– Nero’s identity isn’t explained. It’s said that he has Sparda’s blood, but that’s all the explanation we get.
– Vergil is not in the game. He’s barely even referenced - I think maybe twice “Dante’s brother” came up, that was it.
– During the first part of the game, Nero runs into Dante at several points. I was thinking that perhaps when the player took control of Dante, you’d start from the beginning and see how things unfolded from Dante’s POV. Nope. Story pretty much just moves forward, with ONE Dante flashback explaining how he got involved.
– Lady is pretty much just a cameo only. She appears in one cutscene.[/details]
It looks like there are no other playable characters besides Dante and Nero, and it doesn’t look like you can switch between them freely - in other words, if Mission 8 is a Nero mission, you can’t go back and choose Dante for it.
I haven’t figured out all the forms for Pandora’s Box yet. I don’t know the blade boomerang form…and I really want to use that one.
Maybe I’m not as used to them yet, but Dante’s weapons don’t seem as smooth and combo-able as Cerberus and A&R from DMC3.
While not a cakewalk, I don’t think DMC4 is nearly as hard as DMC3 was.
Yo Azrael. IYO who did you like playing the most. I found Nero really interesting after playing around with the Rv and Instant Rev trick.
sigh well it is Capcom. They don’t really plan these things out like Kojima does with MGS.
I’ve seen pretty much all the fights already and I can tell DMC4 bosses aren’t on the level of DMC3 bosses. C’mon that gaint ugly frog thing cannot compete with Cereberus. Hopefully on higher diffuclty levels they play more offensive. Damn the people that complained DMC3 is too hard.HATE
Still want to see all the upgrades on the weapons though.
At this point I gotta go with Nero. That’s another thing, Dante’s portion of the game feels kinda rushed. After spending 60% of the game as Nero, it was kind of hard to transistion back to Dante. Especially since I think I spend the majority of the time in the air with Nero, while Dante is still ground-based. But Dark Slayer style is too good though.
Man I hope peeps give the DMD a chance. I bet the higher difficulties are harder than DMC3’s higher difficulties.
Also Nero Must Die might be crazy to play in theory. I predict when enemies DT he won’t be able to pull them due to the super armor they gain. Well this is just speculation.
Ya my main was Angi , my secondary was cerrebus, until i got Beowulf… I actually did ok with Nevan too, good for aerial enemies.
NOTE FOR ALL WHO’VE MADE RESERVATION AT STORE LOCATIONS!!!
Someone posted in here earlier that they made a reservation recently and got the art book, so i went to the gamestop where i made my reservation and said “got dat art book?” And they had it, but not many so go get them b4 they’re all out.
Edit:
3 pack?? what three pack?? whats system are they on??:wonder:
i guess i should read b4 i post :-/
Do you think that Nero’s Devil bringer is better for getting in/out/offense than Dante’s Trickster?
My weapons:
Melee: Rebellion+Cereberus or Rebellion+Beowulf. Guns:E&I+Kalina Ann/Shotgun
I use A&R against Beowulf and Cereberus and sometimes Jester and Geyron.
