Cerberus was pretty much raping my ass when i first started playin DMC3, after that it wasnt so bad. Beowulf gave me a bit of trouble too, hes fuckin up close and personal and i didnt expect that D:
One fight that I found fun and easy was A&R. Clashing w/Cereberus made them drop their swords for free rape. And from time to time, I would on purpose kill one and let the other live so it can weild two swords. Good times.
One time I came within one combo of getting a SS rank on Mission 20 (final boss fight with Vergil), and I fucked it up by doing something stupid. Needless to say, my spirits were completely crushed after spending hours upon hours trying this. ;___________;
I’m playing DMC3 now and I suddenly remember what ticks me off about this game: REAPERS. Fighting them is so repetitive. I really hope they haven’t returned in 4.
I really can’t wait for DMC4 now.
Dante and Agnus Shakesphere skit is just…godly. I love this game and I haven’t even played it yet.
Just got my copy of the artbook abit meh on the werid binding, but pics are top notch if you got a reserve at GS/EB cop it quick!!!
I can’t believe how hard Dante (and Capcom) is swinging off of Tom Cruise’s scrotum… that looked a lot like that ‘respect the cock’ scene in Magnolia…
I never got my art book when i pre-ordered at Gamestop. I think it got had!
So how’s the demo so far? I’ll probably get a hold of the PC version (btw, I don’t think I’ve ever finished a DMC game lol).
i was trying to give dmc3 another go and remembered one other thing that drives me nuts: rolling. i know you’re supposed to move left or right based on your character’s perspective, but half the time i just end up jumping. is there a trick to getting that to work consistently?
I remind myself that he is rolling to the SIDES, then I push the analog sticks with whatever direction in relative to Dante
yeah, i know how it is supposed to work, but i can’t get it consistently. wish it was like ninja gaiden’s rolling
I actually just saw the Shakespeare bit. It was amusing.
I’m near the end of the game now. I’m fighting against the giant white thing. Holy shit is this thing ridiculous!
Dante is really cool, but it takes a little while to get used to him after adjusting to Nero’s playstyle. That, and they throw some hard enemies at you right off the bat.
Regarding backtracking: I will try to keep this as spoiler-free as possible. With Nero, you get to a point in the game where he exits and Dante enters. Then, Dante essentially wants to get back to the place where the game started, which means re-tracing Nero’s footsteps. Although the levels themselves are, for the most part, the same, the enemies are different. Dante does have to re-fight a few of the bosses that Nero fought along the way.
The story also gets put on hold for a bit as you make your way back to the original area. I kind of wish that Capcom had at least made (more) alternate routes…but in the end it’s not really that big of a deal. Oh, and you DO get to go to that area on the street with all the demons going crazy…and let me tell you, it’s fucking sweet.
Oh, and I think you can jump on top of enemies, but that’s a skill that must be bought, of course.
Also, I need to figure out the Pandora’s Box codes, like immediately.
dmc3 wasnt hard
i find it hilarious that people put up with the difficulty in ninja gaiden wehn the storyline isnt nearly as interesting, it probably is the comfortable game mechanics though.
the vampire boss in dmc3 did knock me about a few times though i must admit that, but the twins were quite fun to fight, you just need to keep their health paralel then get rid of one of them and your home free
It all depends on which DMC3 we’re talking about… regular or special edition?
I’d say that regular was a little difficult, nowhere near Ninja Gaiden difficulty, but a little difficult if you played through the game for the first time, especially when it comes to figuring out what style suits each situation. Special edition is easier, with the difficulty toned down a little to welcome new players of the franchise. Also, I guess the speed increase helps the game feel more fluid when playing it. Overall though, I’d say that neither version of the game was that difficult.
And saying as we’re bringing up troublesome bosses, for me it’s the final showdown with Vergil.
Cerebrus kicked my ass something fierce.
^ i havent played special edition
yeah virgil was a bit of a problem, but the fight was supposed to be epic so i was happy either way
Yeah, Cerberus whooped my face pretty good in DMC3 too. That was while I was still getting used to Royalguard, though.
I failed at Royal Guard. Vergil kept breaking my guard. I got it maxed out but I just screwing up the timing.
Trickster is probably the best overall style for DMC3 if you’re not awesome with Royalguard. It’s really the only style that’s useful for every situation in the entire game.
