You hit L2 at certain times during sword strikes to insta-charge it. I’m not sure if you can charge on whiffs, but on hits, for sure.
Yea, you can charge on whiffs too. It’s a good way to practice to get the timing down for certain moves. From what I noticed the charge window is mostly in the recovery animation frames.
LOL, this is probably why Capcom waited so long to release the demo. Peeps doing combo videos…OFF A DEMO.

Them fools were slamming the game. Saying Nero played too much like Dante and Nero ran too slow…you know … the typical foolishness you would expect out of a fanboy forum. It irked something deep inside me tho lol. DMC4 is gonna be astounding. I cant wait for those combo videos.
After playing the demo, i thought i was Nice, nope…Im just ok…lol. But this game is infact a must own for Ps3 and 360.
The demo is hella fun.
Finally cleared the time trial, took me like 5 tries, worth it though. Way easier when you get the Red Queen timings down. Gonna be the hotness when it finally comes out !

I would have ordered the US one if I didnt have all the DVDs and anyway they only have 4 epsoides of the anime
One mode gives you 10 minutes, make it through the town killing enemies, and if time permits make it to the first boss and fight him.
Second mode has no time limit, but starts you off on the board before the boss fighting some Frosts, then the boss battle itself.
I felt so proud of myself yesterday because I was getting a SS rank and now I just feel inferior 
.
I have to learn how to instant-charge like that. I’m lucky if I can get 2 Exceeds in a row, but this guy was firing them off like it was nothing.
