I’ve only just now seen DMC4 advertisements around, and they mostly just show the video from the final trailer. I haven’t seen anything playable yet.
I think you may want to hold off since the demo is a build from 2006 anyway.

I think I read somewhere that they had demos up at a sony store too. It was a while back so I can’t really remember where actually.
We would have known first day if it were on the playstation network.
I went and read it out of curiosity. It’s so obvious, I don’t even think it should even be considered a spoiler. It certainly made me wrong tho… Oh well. It makes more sense than Joe Shmoe coming in and somehow some way hold his own against Dante and a slew of demons, while managing to look just the fuck like him. I still want to know how that little…plot point came about.
Edit LMFAOO
Well I’m ignorant but not stupid. I know that the game demo I was playing was “Devil May Cry 4” in plain english, but as far as version, do not know lol.
The demo at Yodobashi/Bic Camera is one of the older builds that was at TGS 2006 or 2007 (can’t remember)
Of course, but this demo is/was only available on kiosks in Japan.
I played it at a Toys R Us while I was in Hikone over the summer dude, lol.
Have I just been in the wrong electronics stores then?
I guess. I dunno if they have TRU exclusive demos or something in Japan.
Okay, a friend of mine who works for Gamesradar.com actually has the game and is pretty far into it. The spoiler posted eariler IS A LIE. ITS FALSE. I’d post what it really is, but I don’t know how to do the spoiler tags.
Other information from him:
DTs have purchaseable move, i.e. Rebellion has Super Drive- Charge the attack button long enough, and there will be a massive(MASSIVE) beam of red energy that does decent damage. There is a variation of this attack in normal mode where you shoot four blasts of energy from the sword.
Gilgamesh: Super Plunge(another name for inferno) that once you jump, press forward and attack and there will be massive damage all around.
There are alternate attacks to the Blue Rose. When you DT, the ‘spirit’ throws ninja stars in replace of shots. When you charge it up, it becomes a HUGE ninja star.
So far, the only weapons Nero has are Red Queen and Yamato.
Stupid cliffhanger in the middle of the game. That scene when Nero like “GIVE ME MORE POWER!!!11”, well it switches to Dante after that
He said he can’t give out screens/vids for risk of losing his job, so believe him at your own risk I guess.
One more week! XD
(Note: I am importing it, hence the comment)
To do Spoiler tags
[spoiler(=)]
Write as much as you want in the blank space and then after that shut it off like you would anything else [/spoile®]
Make sure to remove both parenthesis’s
Who Nero really is
Spoiler
Apparently Nero IS the brother of Dante and Vergil, but from a different parent. He is more like a wuss ass half brother. He woke to his arm one day longing to power and, during a cutscene, he is stabbed by the Yamato. This awakens Nero, but what is different is that its Vergil. Vergil’s essence is now bestowed within Nero, but comes out only when in DT. The cliff hanger in the middle of the game sucks because it shows that Nero is becoming engulfed with POWER and then…Dante time lulz
What does he think of the game so far?
He told me that its pretty much DMC3 with prettier graphics and a more “noob-friendly” starting character. He told me the Devil Bringer made the game feel more like God of War(what with the instant grapple moves and high damaging combos on bosses like Beriel and Echidna) and he just not as fun to play as Dante. He also said the game gets stupid hard around the midpoint because thats where Dante comes in with all his moves at level 1 and lack of moves bought from the shop.
So yeah…its prettier DMC3. I fail to see how this is bad, he said its a really good game so far.
WHAT? WHAT? WHAT?
Damn… I really wasn’t expecting that at all.
Another review (thanks to NeoGAF for pointing it out):
http://www.xboxworld.com.au/games/xbox-360/devil-may-cry-4/review.htm
9/10
- Great Gameplay
- Good Story
- Dante’s one-liners
- Backtracking
- Camera
Devil May Cry 4 is everything a hack-and-slash should be and then some. Sadly it falters with repeated level design and a moderately troublesome camera; but in the grand scheme of things, these are only minor flaws. Devil May Cry 4 delivers an experience that is second to none on Xbox 360, so far. Held together by a solid narrative, it makes your blood boil with every fight you encounter. It’s a great title, pick it up.
This is a retarded review. Backtracking? Camera? Fuckers would have a valid complaint if they didn’t jizz all over Itagaki’s Ninja Gaiden. All that game is is backtracking with the shittiest camera ever built.
Is backtracking this fucking bad?
I guess they mean, the levels don’t really change. There are probably just slight variations in level design from Nero to Dante.Just like towards the end of Devil May Cry 3 where you were revisiting slightly changed portions that you had already visited before.
And yes Ninja Gaiden did have shitty backtrack portions.
