We Shall Never Surrender - The Devil May Cry 4 Thread - Come on, babes. Let's rock!

Being a DMC1 fanboy I chose Yellow orbs, like a real man…

…and regretted it every time I died. I liked to save them for later, so I ended up restarting levels most of the time just to make it all the way through with no orbs.

My shelf recently had a horrible accident causing all of my DMC gashapons to be destroyed. Any one know if any cool Dante and Nero figures are coming out for this game?

from SMB:

can someone tell me what the difference was between the yellow and gold system? I still never figured that one out.

Yellow: You die, you restart the mission from the beginning. If you have a yellow orb, you can restart from the last door you entered.

Gold: You die, you restart the mission from the last door you entered. If you have a gold orb, Dante/Vergil gets up with full life at the exact spot where you died. Basically, it’s like a pheonix down.

I played through the first time on Dante in Yellow, and then Gold for Vergil. I’m all for the old school approach and what not, but I gotta say, <3 Gold.

I always use yellow. It just seems more satisfying. I think they should definitely have both systems(Gold and Yellow) in DMC4.

Was there an option between gold and yellow in the original dmc3. i know you could choose in dmc3se but i remember doing missions over and over again in dmc3.

There was only Yellow in the original DMC3.

I don’t know how legit this is, but 1up made an article about a potential release for the demo.
http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3165492

I hope that it’s true in the sense that the demo is soon.
I hope it’s false in the sense that I want the demo NOW!!!

We can only hope.

:u: Heh, I posted about that a few pages ago. I should be a game reporter.

Back to Yellow/Gold modes, while Yellow is good for the challenge of it all, I liked Gold for the convenience. Because of all the item collecting and backtracking, sometimes re-starting a mission meant going to one area, getting some item, taking it to another area, getting yet another different item, and then taking this back to the first area to fight against a boss. That’s all well and good the first time, but if the boss kept kicking your ass…it just got tedious.

Plus, I hate wasting orbs on Yellow Orbs. In Gold mode I only buy I Gold Orb, and only use it if I really, really have to (suppose I was one hit from killing a boss…and I end up dying before I can deliver the finishing blow).

EDIT
Also, regarding the 1st DMC4 review…

…Perfect.

That’s what I get for checking only one page back… this is SRK, I should know that by now.

Oh well.

On topic: I was always a gold orb player, though I don’t think I died on my run through DMC3.

On DMC1, I used my fair share of Yellow orbs. Still haven’t played DMC2.

3 new vids of Nero’s DT

Also, a better look at Dante’s DT.

the third video is just…amazing

that was some combo

Nero with his Stand in action is too good

MUST PLAY NOW!!!

i think capcom are being smart with their gameplay choices, i love the fact dead rising is like a new skool game with old skool rule

as for people finding dmc3 hard, i do come from an era of no save points so i cant judge anyone on not completing dmc3, i had no problems going through the game though, it was very easy.

my only gripe with the series is they should let you choose a harder difficulty on your first go round, thats why i loved ninja gaiden, dmc’s characters, story and gameplay has a lot more depth but once i’ve completed it i’ve never found it in me to complete it all over again

which made the stage select in dmc3 a very welcome enhancement :wonder:

Anyone notice how Nero use both the Yamato AND Red Queen in that last attack in the third video?

Awesomesauce.

Wow, neros’s DT is look’n pretty phuck’n sick… It looks like i’m gonna have to take a day off work when this come outs:nunchuck: That last vid was sick.:amazed:

Nero’s “Devil Trigger” is actually officially called “Devil Bringer”,because he isn’t actually changing his appearance or channeling demon power through him,but it’s really the spirit being awakened from his arm.

So Nero’s officially bringin’ it!

Yes.Bringing da pain :nunchuck:

I’m only referring to it as Devil Trigger because of the state he undergoes. Also, you COULD argue that he is channeling demonic power from his arm.

All my fears of Nero not having enough variety have melted away. Great shit.

I’m probably late as hell on this, but anybody else think that the Devil Bringer has some connection to Virgil?
