We Shall Never Surrender - The Devil May Cry 4 Thread - Come on, babes. Let's rock!

About the sixaxis camera controls. its optional, theres no need to worry.

The music is awesome…everything else…

i have a feeling that this kid nero http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nero is supposed to be the last and corrupt body of vishnu who is known as kalki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kalki

sephiroth is based on kalki btw

Nice find!

Speaking of Sephiroth, Toshiyuki Morikawa provided his voice in Final Fantasy Advent Children. He also does Dante’s voice in the Devil May Cry anime (Japanese version), but most people might know his work since he does Ryu’s voice in the Street Fighter video games.

for some reason that doesnt surprise me, kalki is the 10th avatar of vishnu and krishna is the 8th avatar along with his brother () balarama.

sparda LOL? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rama

krishna is known to be “dark coloured” or “all attractive” :wgrin: also his birthday lands on 21st of july (my birthday ) from this point i remembered ryu’s birthday is 21st of july also, maybe thats why that V.A does their voices (sephiroth being kalki aka a clone of vishnu/krishna)

btw anyone notice how jenova is blue? yeah FF7 is shallow

July 21st is Akiman’s (SF Artist Akira Yasuda) birthday, which is probably why Ryu has it. No Akiman didn’t create Ryu, Manabu Takemura did for Street Fighter I - http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v729/futaenokiwami/Ryuorigin.jpg) but that’s probably why Ryu’s birthday is the 21st of July, so he can share the date with Akiman. Hey you are in good company!

LOL at Jenova being blue.

http://www.streetfighterdevotion.com/profiles_ryu.php

on your link it said he was born in 1988 LOL he was 10 in 3S that means  i remembered his birthday from reading it from the street fighter turbo collection edition instruction booklet i got YEARS ago when it was released, i remembered ofcourse cos its my birthday too

about jenova yeah thats why it’s my favourite game cos no matter how deep you go into it you’ll always find something that relates to the past, present, future

They mean the creation of the character, not Ryu’s birthday lol! '88 is when SF1 came out in the US, but '87 is the correct year as that was when SF1 came out in Japan. But since it was an American magazine they went with '88.

Though yeah the character Ryu was born July 21 1964. So by SF3 Third Strike which takes place around '99 or so he would be 34/35 and that’s storyline-wise his last appearance since SF4 happens between 2 and 3. He still shows up in versus games of course but ages, birthdates and so on tend to not matter so much for those.

FF7 is a really cool game, just about the only FF game I played all the way through. Well I did finish part 1 on the NES so I still dig that one.

DMC4 is gonna rule! See man, still staying on topic.

^When did sano become Sano?

it seems the games that have some kind of strong allegory can be sensed in some way by the majority of people, i think dmc2 held the least allegory and effort in the series thats why it didnt have any depth

this game should be pretty interesting.

i say it seems but i actually know better than that lol

I have to cosign the shot outta that. You’re right on, after Cerberus its cake… Thats around teh time when most people (my friends) gave up… Quitters.

In my best Dante impersonation, (see still staying on topic :looney:) “SRK Premium Name Change Roll Call Baby!” :nunchuck:

DMC3 has a steep learning curve, but once you do learn you can handle it, and its fun. I was fighting against the light beast the other day, and daftly barrel-rolling and teleporting out of the way of his attacks, and I was like “Holy fuck, when did I learn how to do this?!” Same for A&R.

I think games these days are kind of too easy in general, so if something really challenging comes along all the new gamers are like “OMG IMPOSSIBLE!”

Plus, DMC3 doesn’t even have those hell hounds from the first game. Those shits can kill you even with their death throes.

Oh, and fuck reviews in general. Here’s all the review this game needs: “It’s Devil May Cry 4.” Review over.

I too think DMC3’s difficulty was just right. Newer gamers today don’t know how good they have it. LOL at game saves, I remember back when game saves in anything that wasn’t an RPG was unheard of. Damn, I’ve become the typical ‘When I was your age I walked 10 miles to school’ old man ack… OG Ghosts N’ Goblins, OG Bionic Commando, Battletoads, these are games that will analy rape you over and over again. And no game saves.

Not that I want games to not have game saves because on average I play way too many games at once lol! I will say DMC3 is one of the few games that I could not put down until I was done with it and I didn’t really play many other games in between. DMC4’s gonna be that way too. If anything else, the suspense of Nero’s identity is killing me. :wow:

Though yeah that’s how it is. When I was younger I had all the time in the world to play games and no freaking money to buy games. I HAD to trade games with my friends just so I could play more than 2 games (X-Mas + Birthday, my siblings didn’t always ask for video games, blarg…) a year. No such thing as game rentals… And now after I got older and moved out of my parents house and so on, I have enough money to buy whatever game you want, only I don’t have enough time to play anything! Ack, sounding like an old man again.

 Too true. Maybe throw in a “It’s not DMC2” for peace of mind.

I’m an old man right alongside you. Remember when you died and you had to start that shit over all the way from the beginning? And if you turned the system off - God help you.

That being said, I did appreciate DMC3’s Gold system.

Well, back in the day those old school arcade style games could be beat in about an hour or less with enough practice. Most short games are considered four to six hours by today’s standards, so it’s understandable you can save nowadays; not many people have the time to beat a game that’s at least four hours long in one sitting.

Playing through DMC 3 again.

Damn Agni&Rudra are a breeze with Vergil’s phantom swords.Upgrade Phantom Swords to level 2 shooting speed, jump around and target both of them

Quickly I want to mention that Play magazine had a follow up interview with Kobayashi, but nothing that we didn’t know already was in there so I didn’t really bother posting any of it up here. There was another interview with him in EGM also, but again, nothing new.

So here’s Trish and Lady’s entry’s in Play magazine’s fifth annual Girls of Gaming magazine. Each year they drop a book featuring women from lots of different video games. The artwork is usually existing artwork of the characters as is the case with Lady and Trish, who they used the DMC4 3D models of. Anyway, here’s what they had to say, using red again lol! If you have an SRK skin that makes it difficult to read just highlight to view -

LADY

Lady has grown quite a bit since we last saw her in DMC3, blossoming into an adult “equipped with ballistics” (to borrow a phrase from another Capcom action-adventure) only slightly outshone by her massive rocket launcher. Although her real name is Mary, she is known to Dante only as Lady-a nickname he bestowed on her.

TRISH

Trish, the devil-slayin’, half-demon seductress from Devil May Cry 1 may have turned out to be a clone of protagonist Dante’s mother, but that doesn’t make her any less hot. Her role in DMC4’s storyline remains unknown, but there’s no doubt she’ll be serving up her trademark devil beatdowns in style.

I have no idea what games everyone is in to but some of the other girls that made it into the book are Lara Croft (Tomb Raider), Ellen (Folklore), every single girl from Guilty Gear, Ivy, Hilde, Sophita, Cassandra, Taki, Tira (Soul Calibur IV), Sarah Bryant (Virtua Fighter), Rachel (Ninja Gaiden Sigma), Nariko (Heavenly Sword), Takeru and Dani (Witchblade comic), Kiera (Age of Conan), Rosa (Final Fantasy IV), Gwendolyn (Odin Sphere), Kameo (Kameo: Elements of Power) and last but not leastTHE ENTIRE FREAKING CAST INCLUDING THE FINAL BOSS OF ARCANA HEART AND NO THE GAME IS STILL NOT HEADED TO THE US BUT HOT DAMN PLAY RECOGNIZES! Lol how can you not love Play? :lovin:

Of course there’s LOTS of other girls I didn’t mention but again, I’m not sure what everyone’s into.

Here’s the magazine for those who are interested. It only hit magazine shops a few months ago in the US so some of them may still have copies lying around.

Back in my day, we didn’t have that pussy shit either.
