Btw, I love that they make alliances and such, even though it’s totally pointless since there’s no voting aspect to the show.
All you really got to do is not get last, or be able to beat the person who did get last at X video game.
Being friends with the top placer kinda helps you not get picked to go the challenge room, but that’s about it.
Not to mention they’ve been kinda stupid about who to send to elimination. You don’t want to send the scrubs there, you want to send the true threats who aren’t that good at game X.
And, btw, Yaz really kinda sucked at NHL for him to voluntarily tank to go to the elimination room.
You need to be like Justin good at Tekken 6 to do that.
Yeah, not sure why they wanted chosen1 out of the house, he sucked ass at every game always getting last. I would want him in the game so I knew at least one person in the house I could beat 100%.
Caesar was lamenting how Sebastian was finishing last in every real life challenge. Since all of the challenges were team events up to that point, I guess Yaz was afraid of being paired with him, as well as being tired of hearing all the talk that couldn’t be backed up.
I know this is SRK and all, but among the guys Justin’s been the most “normal,” or at least even-keeled. We didn’t learn much about Mike, but we all know about AJ and Sebastian, Jake went nuts about his “position of power” and went on a crazy temper tantrum, Ryan thinks he’s “the puppetmaster” and smarter than everyone else, Yaz was stupid enough to tank (and damn near lost) which really was no better than all of Sebastian’s big talk, and Caesar always dances into the Isolation chamber (okay, that’s not so bad). I guess after Evo '09, I wouldn’t have expected it. Maybe Wong just doesn’t care about being in front of a camera and can treat it like just another day.
I know, that’s why I put “gaming channel” in quotes. It’s supposed to be about gaming, but, of course, it’s not. Just like everything else that’s supposed to be focused on something, is not. The current trends of TV has it where mainstream viewers would rather watch garbage than solid programming.
@Frankfurt You saying that like it’s absolutely true and yet not looking at yourself to see how it is not completely true. Someone who objects with you only has one ideal way of thinking. There are an infinite amount of reasons.
This one right here is evidence. That you were narrow-minded right here.
Look around this forum here and you can find people who don’t even watch reality shows or hardly watch TV. There entertainment comes primarily from film and the internet. Also loosely using the term you pits a generalization on everyone here who is disagreeing with you. Someone can understand all those points, but can still disagree. Forgot to mention that also using immature name calling also shows how blindly you resort to people being different from you and have to feel the need to name call such people. There is nothing wrong with wanting something to be the best it can possibly be and it is a bit narrow minded that things can only be successful in one way. With enough time, dedication, determination, and people anything can be achievable. Events in history has already proved that.
Being in an alliance is smart for a show like this, and you got it partially right as to why. Here’s why it’s good to be a part of the “Pentagon”:
– Group of 5 guys who collectively will get the most 1st Place overall finishes through the show (so far, it’s been Yaz, Jake, and Jake)
– Everyone in the group is safe from getting put into Elimination unless it is requested to take someone out
– Handle business to stay out of last throughout the show, and the group is safe until the gauntlet
– Possible Intimidation factor … a 1st Place finisher not in the group will likely not throw someone in the group into elimination, given a choice, for fear of making themselves a target regardless of the result (may or may not apply)
Agreed. It’s smart stuff to make an alliance with the person (or persons) that are experts in the type of game that you’re ass at. If you can dodge, say, the racing game bullet early on by having the ‘pentagon’ shield you from a 1v1 situation (and getting blown up), then your chances of winning the whole thing are that much better.
what are you even crying about? maybe i’m out of touch, but i doubt many people were sitting at home hoping to god there were more videogame reality shows. but if there is one, i’d hope that you know they actually show people playing games…and if not, i’d hope that there’s actually some interesting drama going on (keyword, interesting). this show isn’t giving any of those thing, but we’re stuck up and narrow minded for pointing it out? fuck outta here. the idea that people should support a TV show that is wack for the common good or w/e is dumb as hell.
Well, G4 did have its share of garbage that I wouldn’t have minded them cutting, but they gave up some solid stuff. God, I hate mainstream viewers. Of course…I don’t actually have G4 anymore (sort of like how I don’t have ESPN2 anymore…it’s weird, it just left one day) so I don’t have to worry about it anymore.
but it’s not even necessary. All you gotta do is not completely suck at game X or Y, and you’ll be fine. and if they do put you in the elimination challenge, it’s up against the last place finisher.
What’s whack was week 2, where the challenge game and elimination game were completely different. That’s not very fair at all.
You can say it’s not necessary, but that’s as long as the person chosen for elimination can take care of business in whatever game is tossed at them. Fact is, you never know what game will apply until it’s right there in front of you, so to be confident one can fend off elimination on any given episode, one would have to be solid in MAAAAAAAAANY different games. And who’s to say “the alliance” that someone isn’t a part of won’t ever plot to have the one guy better than them throw the challenges to purposely get last, and the 1st place (alliance member) guarantees the showdown?
I mean, look at what just happened in EP3 here. Replace Yaz with “Expert Eddie” and replace Chosen1 with “Anti-Alliance Guy”, and you have the death scenario.
You just can’t deny that in a show like this, odds favor people in alliances over people not in alliances. The chances of being thrown into elimination are pretty much down to “if you volunteer”, and you cruise to the gauntlet as long as you stay out of last.
Thank you for being a fucking idiot and supporting my post almost 100% with your enraged reply. Please learn english.
Let’s address your points:
a) I never said AJ didn’t play SF4, what I asked was why he would be on an SF4 stream, as in on camera, reread what I wrote, I said that I believed “AJ” was in the chat, not on the stream, making it EXTREMELY likely it was just a troll.
b)And? This just tosses him into the extremely large group that is the gaming community, making what was said by the assumed troll much more likely to be believed.
c) I’ll give you this one, I’m sorry I don’t ride this nerd’s nuts hard enough to know him and Rachel make videos together and are butt buddies. Watch him on the show, he was only friends with Faye and Rachel, and I as well as many others got the feeling that Faye really wasn’t a fan. So what are the chances he’s still in touch with the rest of the cast who alienated and generally disliked him?
Peace. Try not to make a complete fool of yourself next time.
Yes. I mean, for me as a random example, I am complete GARBAGE at the 3-point challenge in Wii Sports Resort. Can’t break 10 to save my life. However, I’m a far more capable opponent in Mario Kart Wii, which is a totally different challenge than flicking your right hand.
Just watched the third episode and gotta say sucks for Sebastian was kind of a dick move by the guys after he poured his heart out to them last week, but he was talkin mad shit too so I guess he had it comin.
After watching the 3rd episode I have to say the producers need to spend more time actually explaining the mechanics of the games they are using for the challenges and less on the drama. This is a reality show about games, and more care needs to be made in ensuring that competitive aspect comes across.
