more weird shit about sakura

http://pub103.ezboard.com/frsnetworkrsgamequestions.showMessage?topicID=280.topic

question ": 1) is it possible to get Sakura as your best friend? if it is possible what does she say in the end? does she talk about Ryu or the sf guys to Hinata and the rest of the rs gang? if anyone have the script of the ending dialog with her(if it is possible to choose her), please let me know …

snow’s answer : 1) Yes, just beat her all three times when she challenges you after the term exams. Then during the last day, she will invite you to go on a street fighting holiday with her, with transport provided by Karin’s private jet The first stop is Thailand, where she owes Sagat a rematch I’d need to go through it again to get the exact dialogue line by line, but basically that’s what it is. If you lose against her in the third match, Sakura will say that she was expecting you to be stronger than Ryu since it’s already been a whole year. See the Trivia section of Sakura’s profile page for more details.

Hey maybe someone could help me with this.

My sources were telling me that alot of Capcom’s games fit a chronogy/timeline.

Here’s what I came up with

Past - Power Stone [series] (19th Century)

Present - Street Fighter [series] Rival Schools [series] Resident Evil [series] Devil May Cry [series]

Near Future - Strider [series] MegaMan [series] MegaMan X [series] MegaMan Zero [series]

Distant Future - Captain Commando, Star Gladiator [series]

There’s stuff like the fact the Hayato (Star Gladitor) may be the decendent of Ryu (Street Fighter)

I know there are ALOT more Capcom games, but these are just some of the most famous examples, but if anyone knows where some other Capcom games may fit in the timeline, be sure to list them.

Also if anyone knows any of the dates/times when the games happen be sure to list them too, or if there are any inconsistencies (sp?) that between games in the timeline (like the fact that Rival Schools takes place in 1999)

(Ill try to post this in/on some other places to get as much info as possible)

It’s official that Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li and Sakura are friends. I don’t know much about Sakura in RS. Currently the three PROLLY haven’t seen Sakura since SFZ3, given that she either gave up fighting or is traveling around the world to become stronger. She’s never participated in an SF Tourney either.

Megaman takes place in 200X. Megaman X takes place in 2100. Strider 1 takes place in 2040 and Strider 2 takes place in 2140. (Hiryu doesn’t age as Strider 2’s ending reveals.) And their are some hints Jin is a descendant of either Ryu or Ken, or at some point both their bloodlines combine, given Ryu in Jin’s MVC1 ending, (really odd) the fact that Jin’s father is named Ken and he kind of looks like a louder Ryu, but this is HIGHLY CONJECTURE and rests on if Ryu will ever get the draws from anybody…

Guile confuses Zero for Megaman in SVC. Megaman’s from 200X (AKA anywhere between 2000 - 2009) so it’s pretty interesting even if SVC is unnoficial.

Hmm… I thought all those antics with Ken & Ryu skinny dipping in SFII V were hinting at something…

Re: Ryu’s MvC1 ending

I just thought Ryu was acting the way anyone would act if they witnessed the death of a teammate.

On another note, I think that’s the most emotion Ryu’s shown EVER.

For more Capcom Future wackiness, that Ninja that works with Captain Commando is also a student of Bushin Ryu just like Guy. In the Game Street Fighter 2010: The Final Fight (I forget the original title but CAP USA made that one up. That’s not Ken Masters in that game and it has nothing to do with SF), one of the later stages has the same exact song from Megaman 4 that plays when the Start/Continue screen appears. Capcom Music Rehash laziness or something deeper? You decide!

Still, even if all of these Future games have a Timeline where they can fit, I don’t think they necesarily tie into each other. Here’s two ways to think about it.

Gundam - If you look at the official timeline of Gundam, each series has a timeline where it can occur. For example, one story takes place “After Earth 998” and a series that follows it will have the title “After Colony 742” so if you wanted to you could say that each series takes place a Zillion years or whatever after the last one and they can all tie in, but you’d have to be a little loopy to think Mobile Fighter G Gundam has anything to do with the other shows given Master Asia is defeating Gundams with a towel… I think that the Gundam creators are loopy to keep insisting that MS 8Th team is official because if the Military developed that many Gundams, where the heck was Amuro’s back up? Anyway, early on when Turn A Gundam was being produced (character designs by Akiman! Even though they ain’t that great) Gundam creator Tomino said in that show he would tie in all the Gundams together. I haven’t seen this entire show, but I DOUBT he went through with something as nutty as that, 'specially with the new Gundam show having Cordinaters instead of Newtypes. Everytime I hear Cordinaters I think of John Witherspoon in Boomerang. “You Gots Ta Coo’dinate!”

Another way to think of it is the Marvel way. There are many Alternate Futures and once our Timeline catches up to said Future it wipes it out/replaces it if anything’s different. Still, any attempts of Bishop or Phoenix trying to stop something horrible in our time won’t fix their future as it will be an Alternate Reality and everything will remain the same. It’s kind of the same thing in Dragon Ball, but there instead of Alternate Realities it is referred to as Alternate Earths.

At the very least, doesn’t seem Strider’s Future will come to pass with the fall of the Soviet Union and the end of the Cold War.

In a book that was the equivalent of All About Capcom for the Megaman series, it was officially confirmed that Megaman, Megaman X, and Megaman Legends (surprisingly) take place within the same canon universe, but the Megaman Battle Network series does NOT and is in its own universe.

That right there shows that some Capcom series are separated from others in terms of canon universes, so I’d be VERY surprised if any of the games not already associated with Street Fighter (with the possible exception of Darkstalkers, and of course, our favorite, Rival Schools) would be taking place within the same canon universe as Street Fighter.

So since the MMZ series is a side-game/alt-uni for the MMX game (only happens if Zero’s MMX6 ending happened), you can say the MMZ series is also in the Street Fighter Universe?

When does MML exactly happen (After the X series I assume)?

I’m not surprised Capcom pulled a move like that, to include the main MM game in the same universe as SF. You could probably assume most of the SFers, etc were killed by Mavericks/Reploids.

I don’t think Tas is saying they occur within the same universe so much as he THINKS they occur within the same universe :bluu:

MMZ takes place in 22XX, MMX takes place in 21XX, and MM takes place in 200X.

Id like to know that as well, since I was shocked to find out that Legends actually takes place within the same universe/canon of the other MM games (aside from MMBN)

A little factoid about the MML series. It was originaly supposed to be this GIANT franchise for Capcom. Their was supposed to be an anime, toys, posters, clothes, etc, etc, but the company making the anime (which wasnt funded by Capcom) ended up going bankrupt, so as a result all the other merchandise didnt come out, but Capcom was already done with the game so they released it, the game did well enough to create a sequel and a spin off (misadventures of trone bone)

There were characters in the anime that werent in the MML games, like Protoman, who looked just like the MML MM, but he was red and grey, had a scarf, a sheild, and he had a removable helmet which revealed he had black hair, but in this version the visor on his helmet was actually just a pair of furturistic sunglasses, which his helmet fit over (he looked really cool actually) Zero was in it too, but he looked exactly like the MMZ Zero but taller (which is probaly where they got Zero’s MMZ design from)

Well I dont know about that, cause I relize now they are seperate universes, ie the latest MM1 could take place is 2009, which would mean when SF hit that time there would have to be robots around, also alot of the SF chars would be dead by the time the Mavericks/Reploids came around.

Its also believed that Zero killed/destroyed MegaMan, ProtoMan, and Bass along with just about every other robot of that time. If you see the endings for MM Power Battles 2, you can see that Dr.Wiley invented Zero to be the most powerful robot ever.

I see now that the Capcom games closer to the time of SF, like MM1 and Strider1 obviously take place in alternate realities, but games like, Captain Commando, Cyberbots, and Star Gladiator, could defenitly take place in the SF timeline given that they are so far in the future.

Uh…

Unless you were talking about MM, MMZ and MML happening in the same universe and not SF? If so, then I got that confused. :x

Yes. I’m talking about MM, MMX, and MML taking place within the same universe as each other, but NOT within the same universe as Street Fighter.

Megaman Legends I don’t know the exact date for, but it’s supposed to be waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay into the future. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if there is no date because dates storyline-wise were LOST by the time Megaman Legends came around. Megaman Legends like, came after some apocalypse occurred leaving most of the world water-covered. It’s the paradise that’s prophesized in other megaman games or something like that. Eh… there’s a Megaman website on the net somewhere which talks about it (basically the canon plot guide for Megaman games :P) but I forget the URL.

Are you thinking of MegaMan Network?

http://megaman.retrofaction.com/

Ive read almost all the game/plot summaries, the site is probaly the best MM site, or one of them to say the least.

Oh yeah I need to make a correction…

Zero was actually small in it like he is in MMZ, he was supposed be and act like a mature kid, ie mature for his age type character. There was a taller character that looked like him which is what I was thinking of.

Sorry to go further off topic, but we all know MM celebrated his/its 15th Anniversary recently, and as a result they made/released a BUNCH of MM games, but why was there no MegaMan 9 or MegaMan Legends 3?

I know the guy responsible for the MM series said he wanted to focus on MMBN more, but could that possibly be the reason? Cause they still are making X and Zero games, or maybe they just dont know how to do those sequels yet (which is the same case Capcom has with sequels for Darkstalkers, Rival Schools, Power Stone, etc)

You want to know why there’s no Megaman 9? Don’t you know? If not, prepare yourself and sit down if your not already(Yeah, I’m sure lots of people surf the Net standing up…).

The Megaman X Series very subtley hints that Megaman is dead and he was killed by Zero and Zero most likely killed all his other Robot pals. (It’s official that Zero was created by Wily.) The game that heavily throws clues that this does happen is Megaman Power fighters (I think 2 leans more towards this) but this game has yet to be translated. As for Protoman, In Power Fighters it is indicated that there is some sort of glitch in his system. Dr. Light offers to fix it but Protoman won’t let him due to his pride so that’s probably how he dies. And no, Megaman and Megaman X are not the same Robot.

Not that this means a Sequel can not be made, as Megaman & Bass takes place after Megaman 8, but Power Fighters seems to indicate that the day when Zero kills everybody is drawing very close, and I don’t think Capcom has the balls to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that Megaman was killed by Zero. Look at all the so called dead people in Street Fighter who leave NO corpses and Capcom doesn’t have the balls to prove they are dead beyond a shadow of doubt - Rose, Nash, Guy and Chun-Li’s dad. (Don’t say this Post has nothing to do with SF, LOL!) Vega gets the only dead beyond any doubt evidence, but even then people think he has a shot at coming back in Cammy’s Body and you don’t even want to know about the people who think he has come back as Sigma in MMX… The way I see it, Capcom’s better off leaving regular Megaman alone to avoid dealing with his fate and throwing us so many other Megaman games most of us don’t even notice he’s not around or forget. Megaman 8 seems to give the series closure anyway, with Megaman lying on the ground remembering all his good deeds and all said to awaken soon.

And hey, I always thought all Megaman games tie in, since American Video Game Magazines alway say they tie in, course they were wrong saying MM Battle Network ties in (Yeah, that’s what TiamatRoar was talking about) but it really doesn’t fit, unless it takes place, oh, about a gagillion years after MM Legends. From what I know -

MMX - Reploid war, and then a space Station crashes to the Earth blocking out the sun forcing people to move underground. People start moving back to the surface later, but it seems 50/50 with some people/Reploids living Underground and some living on the surface.

Zero for the GBA - Looks like people are still underground for the most part. Zero takes place many years after MMX.

MM Legends - At some point the Earth is flooded by water. As seen, there’s still bases underground that MM “Volnut” can explore.

So, for MMBN to fit, they have to practically rebuild society from the ground up and drink A WHOLE LOT OF WATER…

There is actually translated versions of the MM Power Battle games.

Here’s the English endings for MMPB1&2

http://www.vgmuseum.com/end/arcade/a/megpower.htm
http://www.vgmuseum.com/end/arcade/a/mm2.htm

It does talk about everything you mentioned, but I had already seen the endings before you posted (thanks for the info anyway though)

I relize now that companies never make those games that bridge the gaps between games, like sooo many people/fans/players want.

(I did read on MMN that Zero more than likely killed everyone)

But what a way to end the classic series and bridge the gap between MM and MMX, I mean I can just envision in my head MM9 letting you play as either MegaMan, ProtoMan, and Bass. Youd play as each character to get the whole story (like each one has a diffrient path but they intertwine at some points) then youd unlock Zero (after beating all three default scenarios) and another scenario, in which Zero destroys everyone.

I do see your points about why it more than likely wouldnt be made, ie actually showing “thee” MegaMan dying, but then again there are Japanese movies like Transformers The Movie and The End Of Evangelion in which virtualy everyone dies, but the movies are considered to be the greatest parts of those series.

Although I dont see why someone cant just make MM9 on MUGEN, it be so FREAKING easy considering how many sprites have been ripped from the 2D MM games, stages can be reused, but the only thing needed would be dialogue which would have to be typed up (which wouldnt take too long if it was planned out)

Great points, but killing Optimus Prime probably killed the Transformers in the 80’s in the US with everyone tuning out and not watching the Rodimus Prime years, and when they did bring him back to life it was HELLA WHACK. Personally, I’ve always hated Optimus Prime (OH, I KNOW I"M THE ONLY ONE IN THE UNIVERSE WHO HATES HIM) so I was the only one jumping up for joy when he did die. GO DECEPTICONS AND RODIMUS PRIME! Now see how every stinking Transformers cartoon has an Optimus Prime and he’ll never die in any of them.

As for the Evangelion Movie, recently some nutjob in Japan killed his Mom with a Baseball bat because the EVA Movie convinced him to do this. Me thinks having everyone turn into a yellow goo and seeing the hero of EVA Shinji masturbate was a bit much…

So the Power Battle games are canon? If so, when do they happen, after MM8 (or one of the MM&B games)?

Also, someone suggested to me that MegaMan might have killed Wily (I think it was either MM7 or 8 that he was going to kill him, but hesitated.) After MM killing Wily, Dr. Light disassembled him because he had harmed a human (Thus creating X, reprograming him so that he wouldn’t harm any humans). What do you think of this theory?

The MMZ series is kind of like an alt-uni because it would have happened if Zero was sealed once MMX6 ended. But, he wasn’t, as he is in MMX7. This is known info though.

If you remember in one of the MMX games, where Zero and Sigma were remembering when Zero was a maverick. They battled, with Sigma winning, but seriously injured. Could that have happened during the time Zero destroyed everyone?

But all it takes for MMZ to be Canon is for Zero to be sealed up in whatever the last MMX game is. Unlike MM Battle Network where Capcom quickly said it was not Canon, this has not happened with MMZ. Alas, we probably won’t see the last MMX game where Zero is sealed off for the same reason we won’t see Zero kill Megaman. It’s bad business all around to end any Video Game Series beyond a Shadow of a Doubt and kill any potential for a Sequel.

Your friend’s Theory is just a Theory. I place it as high as those who think that Guy is Strider Hiryu.

Sigma found Zero in the X series and not the MM series. It indicates just how vicious he was supposed to be. He busted out the only Kung-Fu, HE DA MAN!

Power Fighters is Canon. At least part 2 has to take place after MM8 with Duo in the game.

They could make an ANIME

They could make one that tells about the end of classic series, ie Zero killing everyone, and then a narration of what happens between then and MMX.

Here Sano, here’s a theory, correct whats wrong with it

Sometime later though the programing that Light did would catch up with Zero and change him for the better.

See that all works out, in the sense that MegaMan, ProtoMan, and Bass never truly died.

Not a bad take on MM9. Slight problem with that scenario is that Dr. Light didn’t know Zero. MMX6 reveals this when Zero asks the capsule Dr. Light who he is and Dr. Light didn’t know. That Dr. Light is probably a program of sorts since it shows up every game and keeps building better stuff for X apparently, but if Light met Zero while he was capsulizing X info on Zero would definitly be in the ‘Light Program’ and he would of just told Zero all in MMX6.

I lean towards Zero destroying Light’s lab while he was in it since it avoids the whole Robot killing humans issue. After that, Wily sealed Zero up thinking he was too violent/powerful and died from depression with his two greatest rivals Megaman and Dr. Light gone. No sense in being Evil without your greatest Rivals around.

Heh, heh. If you want to read my take on Megaman vs. Zero, it’s in my CFAS Fan Fic a few threads below on this Forum! Of course, I throw doubt that in their next encounter Zero won’t actually kill Megaman, but unofficial Fan Fic for an unofficial game that will never be released so what the Heck! My Fic is finished accept for the Epilogue! - Ending shameless plug…

I’m starting to wonder if we should start a Megaman Storyline Thread no one will post on, LOL!
