Warriors Fate: Street Fighter story thread, revived

Well there really isn’t much Capcom could do in that sort of fight. In Alpha 2, Ken really wasn’t that far behind Ryu, whereas in by the time of 3rd strike, Ryu was as powerful as Satsui No Hado Ryu would have been in the Alpha games.

Even if he’s not, he SERIOUSlY out-classes Alex in every way. There is no way Alex could keep up with Ryu unless Ryu is holding back which I imagine he is.

I think what hurts Alex is we don’t know who else he beat in the tournament. It’s implied that he beat a few of them (Urien, Remy) but nothing is shown.

This thread is for mainly disscussing official storylines and official info, or speculation about official storylines and info.

And really the best thing to rejuvenate Capcom games, would be a Capcom game, ie Viewtiful Joe.

Although I dont think Capcom needs to be rejuvenated, they’re doing just fine at the moment, but some of their games series, like Street Fighter, Darkstalkers, Rival Schools, and Power Stone, all need to be rejuvenated.

I dont know were else you could possibly post your thread, perhaps the fighting game forum, or you could do post it as a fan fic (I did something similar to that, see my sig)

It’s funny, because the same thing could be said about Ryu in SF1. We know that he beat Adon and Sagat, but not much else. It’s implied that he may have fought Retsu, but that fact could actually hurt his reputation more than anything else.

Actually I meant the Street Fighter series. Capcom needs to rejuvenate the SF series before it dies out, which will be a shame.

Capcom vs. SNK 2 was a good move, although not an excellent one, Capcom needs to do something really fast.

Ah well, I was about to post the respective motives for each and every one of the characters in my last post, and then have you guys correct / conform them to the SF universe. But I guess this isn’t really the place to do that…

Welcome aboard! Here’s the thing about your Roster.

From the begining Capcom regarded the CVS series as a serious fighter. (official statements.) They only wanted serious fighters in the game, and characters that were in fighting games or fought in their games (like Maki) only. For whackiness and anything goes, they already had the MVC series. Sure, Samurai Showdown Characters made the cut, but they are in fact fighters. Morrigan’s only there because of Fan Outrage. Capcom didn’t even bother to update her sprite. (Course it’s mostly because they are lazy.) No other Darkstalkers are in the series since Darkstalkers are very whacky. Unfortunately, this resulted in the game being mostly KOF vs. SF2, but hey, that is what most people wanted anyway.

SNK when they made SVC for the NGP had an entirely different approach. They tossed in plenty of Darkstalkers and Akari from Last Blade. They saw it as being not that serious and had a little fun. Of course their version had the most storyline of all said crossovers however.

SNK/Playmore’s take… is beyond whacky! Zero? Red Arramer? Athena as the Goddess? MARS PEOPLE!!! What the… In retrospect SNK’s never had a series like MVC to really cut loose and be nutty so this may be their shot! The game itself is almost a shout out to all the great 2D games from both sides! Still mostly KOF '96 vs. SF2 though.

Personally, I’d rather CVS remain serious to differentiate it from SVC. I like SVC, but CVS2 owns it on so many levels. Yeah, I’m one of the few who likes CVS2 and it’s one of my favorite fighters. For a lot of the characters you mention like Dante, Onimusha and such, there’s Sammy vs. Capcom and Capcom can go nuts there. Heck, with them already mentioning Darkstalkers and Rival Schools characters for the series they probably will.

SvC’s roster only gets really wacky when you look at the super-secret characters and bosses. The regular roster and the regular bosses aren’t very wacky at all.

True Dat, True Dat.

The SF series inst going to die out.

The last SF game came out what like 1998? And SF is still as popular ever, ie the new Street Fighter comic sold out before it even hit shelves.

Although if its an SF game you’re looking for, you might dissapointed. There wont be another SF game (or rather SF4) till Capcom celebrates the 20th Anniversary of SF, which will be 2007-2008.

Although Capcom does plan to keep making fighting games that include the SF characters.

Capcom is actually doing better than ever right now, they have alotta big plans, and are trying to invent/make/sell new games that they can make sequel, after sequel, after sequel with, instead of doing that with the games they already got.

For instance Viewtiful Joe was just released here in the states (it came out awhile ago in Japan) and its already gonna get a sequel.

Just put up a thread in the fan fic section about the storyline, then you can put up the details about the game, whatever they may be on another site, or on antothe thread, or whatever (I did the samething with Street Fighter Neo)

Oh well, all I can say is that, make them serious! Haohmaru and Hibiki being there is quite astonishing, but they managed to make them serious enough to merit being in a 2002 tournament. But I am going to post it in a new thread (in the FF library Forum) like TAS suggested, and I hope you guys can visit it and help me like the great help you have been so far

EDIT : Especially, I need your help in storyline, and game features I will propose, I might send the wishlist to Capcom if you guys like it and can correct / perfect it until it’s satisfying for all of us.

Of course he outclasses Alex, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he can’t keep up. Just look at Hugo. He was, in fact, said to have made an “amazing performance” in SF3, so he must’ve been a challenging enough opponent for Ryu to have given that strong impression. And judging by the Secret Files and his 3S intro with Alex, Hugo was introduced into the SF3 series as Alex’s new (perhaps needed) grappling rival. It still isn’t clear which of them is better, but then, it’s still not certain who’s better between Ryu and Sagat at present either.

I’m sorry, but I don’t think theyd listen. For one, their main HQ is based in Japan, so they’re well out of your reach (mostly because Capcom USA is so incompetent that they even denied the All About Capcom books ever existed). Also, if you read through those countless wishlists and fan raves people made for SvC2 at SNK-Capcom.com, you’d understand why it isn’t worth their time. The only way Capcom, Playmore, or even Sammy would take requests for an upcoming game is if they made another poll for the Japanese players.

Alex can keep up with Ryu. But thats as far as it goes. I put Hugo in tier 5 bcuz of the fact that he can take hits like crazy. Hugo is a horrible fighter, but bcuz of his size and the fact he can takes hits puts him up there.

That isn’t streetfighter, though. It’s a pity they won’t follow after hardcore fans.
But if all the decent character designers left, I’d rather they not make another SF, which would feature Ryu and Ken and Chun Li, despite the fact that those characters are no longer interesting. SF3 was a very good fighter, and it would be probably impossible to top.

They are actually making SF4, but it wont be out till 2007-2008, which is SF’s 20th Anniversary.

Okay, now for some far out theories and speculations Ive had or thought about or been thinking about.

Ansatsuken

Ansatsuken is “The style with the killing intent”

We know that Gen and Akuma (among others) use Ansatsuken.

But, Gen uses a Kung Fu style, while Akuma uses a Karate based style.

So how could two people with the same style have such diffrient styles?

Because I believe the styles are supposed to be listed as

Akuma = Ansatsuken (Karate)
Gen = Ansatsuken (Kung Fu)

IE any fighter using any style can be considered to be using Ansatsuken as long as they or their style has the intent to kill or leathal moves.

Altough this does not apply to people like Ryu & Ken, who’s styles should probaly not be called Ansatsuken.

The Lee Family

I believe these characters are all related, in someway.

Chun Li
Gen
Lee
Yun
Yang

I believe or have a theory that they all have the last name “Lee” and are all related by blood/family, either, parent, brother, grand parent, cousin, second cousin, etc, etc.

One character on the list at least knows one other character and vice versa.

So Chun Li, would be “Chun Li Lee” but it seems rather silly or pointless to list her last name as Lee since the end of her name is Li.

I could be way off, but it seems logical.

Gouken’s Daughter

This theory is kinda out there.

This is how I see what happend.

Akuma killed Gouken while Gouken’s daughter was watching, she ran away in fear. She ran somewhere into a/the forest or into the mountains.

Through the tramatic experience the girl developed amnesia. She was later found and adopted.

This is the girl we currently know as Sakura Kusagano.

Wouldnt that be freakin werid/crazy? Although it would explain why she is/was able to learn the basics of Ansatsuken so quickly or why she knows the Shun Goku Satsu.

Although if she was infact his daughter, then Ryu and Ken would no doubt recognize her, but if her face had somehow got messed up or scared or whatever due to her time in the forest/moutains, she would of no doubt of had surgery on her face, which could/would of made her look diffrient or unrecognizable to people like Ryu and Ken.

I had one or two other theories/speculations, but I cant remember them at the time, but other than that, what do ya think?

TAS we chinese had our surname start by the back …

example , lee chunli ,

example ling xiauyu , ling is her surname …

TAS - Dude, forget about Gouken’s daughter. You’ll sleep better. Capcom has forgotten about her and I’ll be shocked if they decide to resurrect her.

As for Chun-Li and the Lees, the Lees are confusing enough without throwing Chunners in the mix.

I’m still speculating that Remy is the son of Doctrine Dark and Morrigan. LOL!!! For obvious reasons that is very wrong.

thanks ! uggh !!

Tiamat,

Do you already have an idea about the BP and SP power readings in SFA3?

Nope. Besides that Rolento’s and Sodom’s higher ratings are including their weapons.

My best guess is that it’s something like Card Fighter’s Clash. …but even that doesn’t seem to really fit in. Feh.

Ryu BP 125500
Ken: BP 7500 SP8400
Chun-Li: BP 6900 SP 6800
Sagat: BP 12600 SP 10900
Adon: BP 8200 SP 7300
Birdie: BP 11600 SP 11000
Sodom: BP 10800 SP 10800
Nash: BP 8600 SP 8400
Rose: BP 7800 SP 5400
Akuma: BP 7800 SP 120000
Dan: BP 3700 SP 7400
Dhalsim: BP 8600 SP 4800
Zangief: BP 11400 SP 12100
Rolento: BP 8000 SP 8100
Blanka: BP 9200 SP 9800
Balrog: BP 8600 SP 7200
Cody: BP 8500 SP 8800
Balrog: BP 9800 SP 10200
Juli: BP 12800 SP 8600
Juni: BP 12400 SP 8200
THawk: BP 13000 SP 16200
Guile: BP 8200 SP 8600

The way I see this, both BP and SP could be related to raw strength.
BP could be potential damage that can be inflicted using brute strength and SP could be physical durability.

That would justify why T.Hawk, Blanka, Sodom, Bison, Sagat, and Birdie have high rankings.

Saiki, I read your SS and Darkstalker FAQs at GameFAQs. You must have recently sent those in. Who would have thought the DS story had so much information in it?
Any chance you’d do one for the SF EX storyline?
