FINAL SHOWDOWN - Great question! I’d like to know the answer to this myself.
Here’s the other SF2 CD Drama I got. It’s older than the one I presented before and is dated 7/15/92. Figuring out the story is more guess work on my part this time because the booklet only has OOOOLD school Pics of the SF2 Fighters that even the SF Eternal Art Book seems to have forgoten about. (well, probably lessons the chance of me guessing/interpreting things wrong in some ways.) The CD came with an old school sticker of Akiman’s Chun-Li kicking, which is going right on my PS2, next to the Fist of the Northstar sticker I got from the sundtrack of the new OVA! The CD Drama has two songs with lyrics. One is called JUMPIN’ , the other is called LONESOME SOLDIER. The songs ain’t that great compared to SF2 Animated Movie songs but they’re okay. It also has remixes of Ryu, Chun-Li, Balrog(Ninja) and Vega’s(Dictator) Stages. The last track on the CD is a loooooooooooooooooooong commercial for SF2 on the Super Famicon/Nintendo done by Ryu and Chun-Li! Go, Go, capitalism! Here goes. Once again, this CD Drama is not official/canon. If I’m wrong about stuff and anyone can correct me please do so.
ACT 1 - Young Chun-Li’s present for her father’s murder at the hands of Vega(Dictator). She calls her father “Otosan” (father in Japanese) and not “Papa” like she did in the extremely unofficial SF2V Anime.
ACT 2 - Chun-Li gets a call from Sho Cho who appears to be one of her bosses. The call interupts Chun-Li’s dream of the past in Act 1. Chun- li shows up to arrest some Shadowloo goons. Balrog(Ninja) appears, they fight, Chun-Li knocks him back with a Spinning Bird Kick. Cops show up, thugs and Balrog leave.
ACT 3 - Chun-Li meets up with Kon Ron, the same guy in the other CD Drama. Kon Ron tries to put the moves on Chun-Li, and Chunners beats him up! Chun-Li’s called into Sho Cho’s office. At the end of their conversation, Chun-Li thanks Sho Cho, and just then Balrog crashes through the window and kills Sho Cho! Balrog leaves, and Chun-Li cries over Sho Cho. Kon Ron knocks on the door and then opens it. Chun-Li swears revenge on Balrog, Vega, and Shadowloo! Chunners gets on a plane. The Stuartess says in English, “May I have a cup of coffee?” Unless I’m misinterpreting things, I think she meant to say, “Would you like a cup of coffee.” She continues in English and says, “Coffee or Tea? Coffee or Tea?” to which Chun-Li replies in a surprisingly good English Accent, “No thank you. I want nothing.” (Even back in '92, already Chun-Li could speak better English than the KOF cast! Okay, currently I’m just mad at how dumb Playmore USA’s making Chun-Li sound. Sorry…) Guess who’s doing excercise right on the plane at the request of the stuartess telling him to stop?Ryu of course!
ACT 4 - Ryu and Chun-Li meet in America for the first time! Simoultaneously somewhere in '92 sano smiles for some reason… Ugh, wait, no he doesn’t, this CD Drama ain’t official! sano did not even know who Sagara Sanosuke was in '92, nor did Sanosuke even exist! Probably would be calling himself Megaman back then because he used to be into that back then. Apologies to anyone who read past the first sentence of this Act…
ACT 5 - They continue to chat, and Balrog shows up! He does some damage and leaves.
ACT 6 - Ryu and Chun-Li chase Balrog by car. They enter an SF style Tourney that Balrog was in! The crowd goes wild as Chun-Li enters the ring and beats Balrog with a Lightning kick! Ryu Hadokens a Shadowloo baddie that was pulling Balrog’s strings! Course, Balrog gets away once again. Ryu and Chun-Li say goodbye as Ryu laughs at Chun-Li’s expense. I must say Ryu has acted way out of character in both CD Dramas and his voice actor is horrible while Chun-Li’s voice sounds exactly like her SFZ Anime voice (to lazy to check if they are the same person, but the girl who did Chun-Li’s voice in the SFZ Anime has done it in past games so the possibility exists) but these were made a decade or so ago so you have to give it a bit of leeway methinks.
