Warriors Fate: Street Fighter story thread, revived

There sure are some… interesting pics that various people drew at that guestbookish art journal Akiman site…

Hey Tas, thanks for the Hinata Ken info. Yea, I’m looking for PJ board info, but mainly for storyline purposes, not gameplay or char edit purposes  And mainly I’m just looking for stuff that could possibly connect it to Street Fighter (more so PJ than the first RS game). Stuff which I’ve yet to find at all.

Regarding a new Street Fighter,

I’m thinking we MIGHT get a new game RELATED to Street Fighter in some fashion. I still specifically remember a Capcom representative saying “There could be a new game for SF’s anniversary, but not necessarily a new Street Fighter game” or something like that, and the makers of Street Fighter said in SF Eternal that we won’t be getting a new Street Fighter game, so I’m thinking it’s something else related to Street Fighter but not actually a new Street Fighter game. …a new Final Fight, maybe? But sheesh, for some reason, my hopes are feeling quite low lately. I wish Capcom would just make an announcement if they had something in mind.

Hey, Tiamat:
The information that I stated about Makoto (“However, Eric Musashi, a practitioner of the style, points out that all shotokaners have an attack that deals a lot of damage in one blow, typically a fast hard punch, and that Makoto doesn’t seem to have that.”) isn’t true. Saiki said that the final blow of Seichuudan Godanzuki is like the blow of shotokaners (spinning god fist of Paul, the uppecut of Jin, the super punch of Ryo…), and it’s true. Watching the move, finally I understand (sorry, but in my city I can’t to play a arcade of Third Strike  ).
Please, correct it, and sorry.

What Capcom actually said a while back is their would be a new game for Street Fighter, but it may or may not be a direct continuation. This could be interpreted in many different ways.

Regarding what udoneko said - HMMMMM. All he said was “Heh, heh, heh.” when someone mentioned a new SF game. Also could be interpreted in 100 ways.

What I find funny is that udoneko started a Thread saying the comic is in trouble. I and TiamatRoar on the same Thread have stated that the producers of SF promised no game for five years. You would think if udoneko did know something after all that he would highlight our post as well and hit it with another “Heh, heh, heh!” or something if the book is in that much trouble since he probably can not answer the question directly, and people knowing there will be some kind of new game of sorts would help the book lots, so I’m inclined to think udoneko knows what we know at this point.

This is all speculation on my part. This is one scenario where I’d love to be proven wrong. Hey, you’d think Capcom would offer some kind of new game for their Fifteenth Anniversary, but the 15th Anniversary is going on right now in Japan and they still don’t have a new game. Could it be that they will honor the US 15th Anniversary only? HMMM. With the SF Zero 2 Anime coming out next year (though, like the first one it is is being made in conjunction with Manga Video USA which would explain an Arrival for next year for our 15th) and the live action sequel to the crappy Van Damme Movie slated for next year, could be.

About the Comic - Given that in the second issue Ryu and Ken are supposed to fight in the story’s timeline, and in the Third issue Kia Asamiya will be doing a back up story of Ryu vs. Ken, my gut is telling me Kia Asamiya’s story will be where Ryu gets beaten by Ken and gets the Red Headband, and it will probably take place before Ryu fights Sagat in the Comic’s Continuity. With that and Red Headbanded Ryu fighting a cocky Sagat in SF1, methinks Studio Udon really likes the SF2 Animated Movie! Well, hey, everyone else does, even Capcom.

In slight defense of the comic, I’m not sure how much they are supposed to reference SF1, a game that 99.9% of the people who buy this book have never even played. And if the job to reference how the characters looked in SF1 and what the Background looked liked fell on Joe Maduriera’s lap, You know THE LAZIEST COMIC BOOK ARTIST OF ALL TIME WHOSE BATTLE CHASER COMIC HAD SIX MONTH TO ONE YEAR GAPS BETWEEN ISSUES WHILE IN THE MEANTIME HE WAS DRAWING DANTE’S HEAD NOT EVEN HIS WHOLE BODY JUST HIS FREAKING HEAD ON A PSM COVER AND TRYED TO BLAME ALL THE DELAYS ON LEGAL TROUBLE is not doing any research at all. But, in Joe Mad’s defense, the Art for the SF Book he did is really good! I’ve always loved his pencils, just his work ethic bugs me. Regardless, I recommend everyone support this book, as it’s success can only bring good thing to Street Fighter fans. More games, More Models, more Toys, chances of more foreign stuff (AAC, Masahiko Nakahira’s Mangas) getting translated, and so on. So long as Sagat still gets the scar from SNH Ryu, and down the line Sagat does become a man of honor I’ll be happy with that.

In a recent interview, Joe Mad said he found Ryu boring and his favorite character is Cammy. I FIGURED IT OUT! JOE MAD AND WHINEY STEFAN OF CAMMYFAN.COM WERE SEPERATED AT BIRTH!

Sano - I heard about the SFA2 anime (saw it on manga.com) but do you know anything about it other than that its coming out, cause I havnt been able to find any info on it.

Sadly, no. Darn Capcom and their secrets…

Yea, I saw your post. I’ll correct it in the next update

TAS, TiamatRoar or anyone who owns Rival Schools or knows it well - I am currently writing a CFAS Fan Fiction here. I pretty much know all of the game’s All Stars Moves except for Akira’s. Can anyone tell me what these moves look like?

Example: Hadoken - Fireball thrown from Ryu’s hands.

Anyway, here’s Akira’s Rival Schools 1 Movelist that I’d like described kind of like how I described the Hadoken. Sorry for any inconvenience and thanks in advance!

Gate Elbow
Dancing Cyclone Kick
Reflex Stance
Aerial Dragon
Heaven’s Dash
Reverse Twister Kick

Oh, and let me know if Akira yells out the names of the moves while she performs them. Sorry, my Rival Schools knowledge only goes up to Batsu who I used in the Arcades. I thought CFAS would be out by the time I got up to the part where Akira fights so I could detail her moves in my Fic. That’s not happening with the Games cancellation though.

If you have the time, please take a look at Fighter Mania (link in my sig below). I’ve recoded all the pages to get rid of the frames and have everything in a single window (just like GameFAQs and any other major site).

Anyway, what’s in it for you? Well, at the moment it’s possible to link to a particular game since the address bar changes along with the pages. For example:

http://kattuggla.oru.se/dmd01/dm0103/test/showgame2.asp?cGame=Savage+Reign&sortering=ASC

This gets you directly to Savage Reign, and everything is linked just like before. The Show Related by Game and Show Related by Story buttons also let you link. However, form buttons don’t send the proper URL to the address bar, so I’ll have to work on this.

If you encounter any bugs (except for the warped graphics on UVR and Sources, I know about those), please let me know. Next, I’ll bring you a linked master list of all the characters, sortable by name, game, height, weight and nationality.

Sieg - The Site looks great! I used it to look up a few things for my CFAS Fic!

My copy of the SF #0 Comic from Dynamic Forces has come in the mail! I requested the Chun-Li Foil Cover, but instead they sent me the Joe Mad Sketch Cover! Must be the universe’s Revenge for me calling him lazy! Ah well, the Joe Mad Cover’s rarer than the Chun-Li Foil Cover and even comes with a Certificate of Authenticity so I ain’t hatin’!

The colors, the art, the surprise ending! Sniff, sniff, It’s beautiful man!

In Sagat’s Bio, it says at his core he’s a man of honor, so I’m thinking even though he starts out being Cocky, remains a Lord of Shadowloo for a bit longer he’ll probably become the Man of Honor we all know sooner or later.

I’ve added that master list now. It comes with the added bonus of being able to link to any individual character.

For example, anyone asks about Poison, you just link them here:

http://kattuggla.oru.se/dmd01/dm0103/test/showchar.asp?cName=fi_poison

Very random/shallow/pointless/post - Since the Dreamcast Rival Schools game seems almost impossible to find (I saw it about 3 Months ago but foolishly didn’t purchase) I found a used copy of Rival Schools 1 for PS1 for very cheap! Answering my own Akira question will never be this fun!

HAHA!

I reposted my Street Fighter Neo story, made it easier to read, put all the stories I wrote in one post, and added an all new story about Sagat (and another SF char, but I wont spoil it)

You guys can either click on the link in my sig, or just go see it in the library. You can post your comments if you have any about it in the SFN thread.

Picked up some OOOOLD SF2 CD Dramas! One was dated 7/14/93. Thankfully, it had pictures in the booklet to help me figure out some of the story since it’s all in Japanese. Very cool Manga style Panels for each act! Colorless, done very sketchy like, but still cool. Here’s what I could figure out what was going on with my very limited knowledge of Japanese. I may still get a few things wrong, so if anyone has this old CD Drama and wishes to correct me, please do! Of course, this CD Drama is not official/canon at all.

ACT 1 - Dhalsim is levitating/meditating in his classic “Yoga Yoga Yoga” position in India. He invisions Vega(Dictator).

ACT 2 - Ryu and Chun-Li are fighting in New York! That’s right! Only my hometown can bring my two favorite Video Game Characters together! HA! HA! Chun-Li meets with her CD Drama only Interpol partner Kon Lon. (Possibly spelled Kon Long?). He looks kind of like the young version of Ryu in the SF2 Animated Movie, but wearing a suit and tie. He has black hair as well. Also meeting with Ryu and Chun-Li is of all people Retsu from SF1!

ACT 3 - Chun-Li’s in New York’s Chinatown with Kon Ron. There’s some Shadowloo business going down, and when Chun-Li calls in her location, she clearly say she’s on Mott St. in Chinatown! Why is this hysterical? BECAUSE THE CHINATOWN FAIR ARCADE IS ON MOTT STREET IN CHINATOWN AND IT IS CURRENTLY THE ONLY ARCADE IN NYC TO HOUSE SVC! CREEPY!

ACT 4 - Still in Chinatown, Chuners fights Vega(Dictator) and gets beaten. Dhalsim jumps in and hits Vega with a Yoga Fire and a Yoga Flame! Vega hears Police Sirens and break out! Ryu and Retsu show up all late, as Chun-Li utters “Ryu.” with her last breath.

ACT 5 - Chun-Li’s in the hospital. Kon Ron’s concerned, Ryu argues with the Doctor.

ACT 6 - Ryu and Kon Ron chat. Soft music plays as Kon Ron tells Ryu Chun-Li’s Origin Story.

ACT 7 - Hospital outfitted Chun-Li somehow, someway is now brainwashed by Vega! Everyone’s shocked as she runs off!

ACT 8 - Ryu and everyone else stare at a big building. Old lady reveals it called “Devil’s Tower.” They all go in.

ACT 9 - Everyone looks on as Ryu fights Vega to a standstill. During the course of events, Chun-Li breaks the spell, Ryu yells “CHUN-LI!” she says quietly “Ryu.” Kon Ron dies by a stray bullet I’m guessing. Chun-Li cries, " WAAAA!!! VEGA!!!" and smacks Vega with a huge Kikouken! Devil’s Tower collapses, as Hadoken, Yoga Fire and Kikouken combine to clear an exit.

ACT 10 - Chun-Li, Retsu, Dhalsim and Ryu look on the wrecked building. Chun-Li calls Ryu “Stupid!” for something ending the story.

Next as a joke, the cast of this show go on a quiz show to answer SF2 questions! Frustrated Ryu blows up the studio with a Hadoken! Chun-Li sings lyrics to her SF2 Theme song too! Different lyrics to the standard lyrics to the Chun-Li song you may have heard before (Sounds like a Chinese Dialect and not a Japanese one) and the CD ends with Chun-Li yelling “Spinning Bird Kick!”

The CD also includes a Dhalsim stage Remix, and a Ryu Stage vs. Chun-Li Stage song! I’ll detail the other CD-Drama I got tomorrow.

Guess who just came up with in-game Engrish proof of the Ansatsuken “theory”? Yep, Playmore.

When Geese wins against Ryu, Ken or Akuma, his win quote is:
“The Legendary Fist of the Assassins! That’s it?”

Edit: It’s possible that SvC confirms Aguni as Dhalsim’s source of power as well. Go Playmore!

Also, Chun-Li seems to comment a lot on the other few women’s looks…

Yea, I saw someone at gamefaqs say something about Aguni being mentioned in some of the dialogues with Dhalsim then asking “Who’s Aguni?”

Now if only I could get some Poison = a guy confirmations from the dialogue…

Retsu of all people in the CD drama. Well, at least this is more confirmation that those CD dramas aren’t canon (unlike what snowstorm would have you believe with the RS Drama CD)

That much I gotta hand to them.

But they’re making Chun-Li look like a jerk. She goes around looking for people to throw in the slammer with or without grounds to base it on, and when she’s just meeting people to fight, she gets so uptight thinking they’re gonna make a crack about her legs or how she’s not so tough.

I suppose Playmore is just “playing” up one aspect of Chun-Li’s personality that Capcom jokes around with. Like how in MSH vs. SF she arrests everybody, or how in Pocket Fighter she arrests Felicia. Capcom was joking with it’s unofficial games. It’s not who she is.

Chun-Li’s dialog with Guile was dead on. Her conversation with Shiki was pretty funny with her telling Shiki to “Kiss it there!” (PC way of saying kiss my Ass!) As for her dialog with Mai, I don’t know why Playmore’s making it so catty when their CVS rivalry seems almost friendly as does there SVC for NGP dialog if memory serves. Even in Falcoon’s artwork for the Arcadia Cover Chun-Li and Mai look very angry at each other. Angrier than they looked in that CVS1 Pic with Chun-Li, Mai, Yuri and Sakura.

And I was actually mad at Mai for commenting on Chun-Li’s legs! At least she’s not completly useless like Mai who officialy has never done anything, runs around half naked and still can’t attract gay Ass Andy.

Big thighs are a good thing, darnit! Notice how a huge percentage of women out there can’t pull of those low low jeans? They need big thighs and a small waist like Chunners! Besides, anyone can see Mai naked more or less! You have to work hard to see Chun-Li’s panties! Back in the old SF2 days this was hard! It involved pausing the game at the right moment and standing on your head…

Ending rant. Playmore just made me dislike Mai more if that’s possible. I like Shermie, Charlotte and Shiki over at SNK.

Well for one thing, I think it’s safe for me to say Tabasa’s my favorite Capcom character now. Sorcery and science do not mix, and yet, you have this little ‘sorcerologist’ traveling to other worlds, using her powers to conduct her scientific analyses (I like that concept; that term’s just as cute as she is  ). The artwork does an excellent job showcasing her personality, of course. And in her homeworld, her get-up is actually her street clothes. She’s simply adorable, even when she’s not a Pocket Fighter!

And that’s probably why I found Chun to be very rude in SvC. Here, you have this ‘sorcerologist’ trying to do her job and a Chinese cop trying to hold her for questioning. Whatever the hell for!? When I saw their dialogue, I was like, *Bitch, back off! Tabs ain’t done nothin’! *

Fanboy mode off ( ), I also don’t like how Chun tries to arrest Kyo. Iori, I could definitely see her trying to persue, but Kyo? Kyo may be a punk kid, but really, how could he be a criminal? And where’s Chun-Li’s warrant? What about the evidence? Sheesh, she’s almost as corrupt as the cops we see everyday! And what kind of greeting is that she gives to Terry? “Care to make a crack about my legs, huh?” Is this what you’d really say to a legend that you’ve been dying to fight for ages? It’s like, come on Playmore, why can’t she be as cool-headed as she is in SF?

Though I do love how they tackled Chun-Li’s relationship with Ryu and Ken. Just old friends putting it up for old times sake, and not a single-trace of romantic response to the fanboys between Ryu and Chun anywhere!

And yea, I kinda like her rivalry with Mai in MOTM and CvS1/2 better, but it can kinda go both ways. Maybe Playmore agreed to take the different approach? Still, I don’t like Mai in either of them.
