Well, a “mix” is a pretty loose way to put it, considering the only Tae Kwon-Do maneuver Ryu/Ken have is the Nerichagi, and that the only Judo maneuvers they have are their two throws.
The Nerichagi are changed to the Nidan Geri, the double-hit kick of Ryu/Akuma in SFA3. And the version of Ken is the Kakatto Geri. But the Hurricane Kick have a influence of Taekwondo (karate not have a base to use complicated jumping moves).
The Hyakishu Throws of Akuma have a influence of Judo, too. But you are sure; a “mix” is a pretty loose way to put it. For me, they fights ansatsuken using karate (with influences of taekwondo and judo) as base.

The name is Funakoshi, and not Funagoshi. The nickname of Gichin Funakoshi is Shoto, and when he created the first dojo, the dojo are named Shotokan (Association of Shoto) by the students of the dojo.

Er… it isn’t updated? The version should be 3.7 right now. That the version you’re reading? If not, I guess the upload failed or something. I can’t check for a new version because gamefaqs server is screwy with me and keeps on loading up my cached temporary internet files. The only way I can fix it is to delete my temporary internet files, and being on a slow as molasses dial-up connection, I generally don’t do that unless it’s an extreme emergency.
Even version 3.7 has the “Surprise!” quote. It just adds in something like “Er… sorta. Read below” a bit later on in that paragraph.
