Warriors Fate: Street Fighter story thread, revived

Hey, everyone. I wanted to fill you in on something interesting I noticed while I was checking out Capt. Commando flyers at the arcade flyer archive. In Ginzu’s bio, it says/reads (and I quote):
"A highly trained ninja and successor to Bushin-ryu Ninpo."
See for yourself:

Did anyone else know this guy was a bushin ninja (Not that this really matters)? I just found that interesting. Also, how long has Guy’s fighting style been known (officially) as Bushin-ryu Ninpo/Ninjitsu? I was under the assumption that it’s only been called that since Alpha 1.

Just an A3 observation.

Ryu’s ending has appearances from Sagat, Rose, Chunli, Sakura, Akuma and Ken.

Now we’ve confirmed storyline appearances by everyone except Chunli. We do know that according to Saiki Chunli is friends with Ryu, Ken and Sakura even though there is no official meetings between them.

Anyways I was watching the quotes that each character says to Ryu and I thought two in particular were kind of interesting.

Sagat: “Any time you desire a match, I welcome your challenge.”

Chunli: “You will be stronger the next time I meet you … won’t you?”

Everyone else (Except Rose) says something on the order of wanting another fight basically.

Sagat’s implies that he’s more at peace and ready to wait to fight Ryu again.

Chunli’s confuses me. It almost sounds like she beat Ryu in their fight.

Ack! It’s a dashing punch? Sorry, I don’t see Q matches very often. Thanks, Ultima ^^

Hmm… did Capcom know about Bushin-ryu during Final Fight 2? I imagine they really should have thought of the name to Guy’s fighting style by the time they’ve given him a master and someone else who knows that same style (Maki’s original Final Fight 2 bio listed her style as Bushin-ryu Ninpo, didn’t it?).

…course, FF2 was released quite a while after Captain Commando, also, wasn’t it? I forget

Well they forgot WHO Guy’s master was too.

I think it was an honorable fight by the rules. However, I don’t think Gouken actually wanted to fight. I think Gouken accepted the challenge because it was a challenge and he couldn’t “punk out.” But I don’t think that he really wanted it. As opposed to Goutetsu who was glad his student had finally surpassed him. I think Gouken would have preferred to be beaten by one of his students also, but wasn’t afforded the chance.

Ultima, if I post on an ezboard forum I use TAS X, since TAS was already taken.

I actually don’t remember higher voltage’s forums, but Im sure if I posted anything it was probaly about SF4 or something stupid, and was bashed for it everywhere except here and the Rival School forums.

And now I can say that people here and there (RS forums) are nice people and don’t totaly bash someones idea to death if its a sensable or reasonable.

So all I can say is thnx for being nice Shoryuken members.

In Cap VS SNK 2, Gouki says to Ken at one point:
Ken: I’ll surpass both you and Ryu!
Gouki: Show me that your barking is more than just words!

Gouki probably does not consider Ken impressive.

Remember as far as the arcades go there was never a point where Ken did NOT have a flaming uppercut. You may say “but what about SF2”, and whoops, in the Alphas he’s flaming. Ken did not compete in SF1, so it might have been that way back then.

Can’t be called right now. No one knows how strong either is at maximum. Oro is also holding back a hell of a lot of power and doesn’t get the respect he deserves. Remember the big guns are Gill, Oro, and Gouki.

Saiki: In 3rd strike Ryu is Gouki’s “last” fight, but there is no pre fight dialogue. Is there dialogue in the Japanese version? if not, do you think this is significant or just laziness?

Maybe the first time Ken’s fist flamed was when he attacked Gouki out of anger for killing his master.

Yeah you could say what about SF2, but SSF2T or the SF revial takes the place of the original SF2, I think.

Tiamat
I suppose your right. According to Saiki, Maki’s fighting style’s listed as Bushin-ryu Ninpo in the Japanese FF2 manual. Captain Commando was released in arcades in late 1991, but storyline-wise, it takes place during the year 2026. Final Fight 2 was released some time in 1993.

Good point about Ken, kind of brings to light some roblems with my explanation. Have to work up another one. (Maybe if CAP USA wasn’t so freaking lazy we wouldn’t have to go through this but hey it’s fun.)

I think if Capcom ever decides to remove Gouki from the storyline, then his actual last fight needs to be an all out against Oro. We’ve never actually “seen” Gouki go all out, unless you count the fight with Gouken. And even that is debateable. But I’d like to see he and Oro go at it, maybe in an anime done by Capcom of JAPAN. I would hate to see Capcom USA do it. And have him turning into some kind of stupid monster at the end. And then they’re be even more misguided fanboys. Then we’d see Shin True Monster Gouki Akuma Raging Demon Man on CvS3, who can shot eye beams and has a 39,000 hit Shun Super Saiyajin Goku Satsu Murder, with the stamina of a two month old baby who was born 7 months prematurly. Bah, nevermind. Let’s just leave it to speculation.

Guys, has anyone here visited

www.street-fighter.co.uk ?

The site also has bios for SF characters, including those from SF1

:wtf:

I assume that the webmaster just took the bio from a manga or something.

Anyway, since when did a manga for SF1 characters came out?

I mean, look at Joe’s bio in that website. It’s so detailed.

I remember that guy, I think Tiamat or FoF got into a huge fight with him.

From TAS:

> I actually don’t remember higher voltage’s forums, but Im sure if I posted anything it was probaly about SF4 or something stupid, and was bashed for it everywhere except here and the Rival School forums.

Yup. You posted there about two weeks ago.

You didn’t get bashed here though? You must have come at a bad time then, cause this is normall the first place where your lame ideas would have gotten flamed extra crsipy.

> And now I can say that people here and there (RS forums) are nice people and don’t totaly bash someones idea to death if its a sensable or reasonable.

Which is strange, since your ideas were neither sensible nor reasonable. shrugs Oh well.

Note that I mean nothing personal, but your gameplay ideas were Sf4 are awful.

To Tiamat:

I forgot something in case you wanted to add it: Final Fight 2 was released summer of 1993, roughly around the same time as SF2 Turbo for SNES was released. I forget exactly when FF3 was released, but I could check through my stack of old EGMS and find out (1995 I think).

I think I’ll refrain from commentiing on Tas’s SF4 idea with my opinion and just stick to criticizing facts, since I promised long ago that I’d stop commenting on fanfiction due to how I’d have to say “It sucks!” because most fanfiction does.

I’ll also refrain from commenting on the RS Network because to say an entire message board smokes crack when it’s really just a few of the posters there would be too generalizing and mean.

Thanks again, Ultima  Finding the release dates of the FF games has been pretty difficult. …okay, admittingly, it’s also been because I haven’t been trying too hard and have been very lazy about it, but that makes me all the more thankful and appreciative  adds to plot guide

Hey, didn’t I post BOTH Capt. Commando and FF2’s release dates here, yesterday? Yeah, it’s on page 9. Go figure. Stupid Ultima, always stealin’ credit!
j/k, Ultima. Anywho, Final Fight 3 was released in 1995.

To Golden Dragon:

Yeah you mentioned it first, but “summer 1993” is a little more specific than “some time in 1993”.

> ** Anywho, Final Fight 3 was released in 1995. **

Yeah. I checked through my old pile of Nintendo Power mags (don’t laugh), and the Jan 1996 issue features it. So that means it probably came out around between late October and early December of 1995.

EDIT:

I think Dean would be a really cool addition to any future SF roster, even though he looks kinda like a cross between Benimaru from KoF and Axle from Streets of Rage. I don’t know how old he would be in the next SF (for example) though, since it could potentially take place a good 12+ years after FF3. I forget: Do they say how old Dean is in FF3?

Ultima
Unfortunately, I don’t think Final Fight 3 lists any of the characters’ ages. It’d be great if it did, though. It’d be easier to tell how many years it took place after FF2 by using Haggar’s age as a scale. As for it’s exact release date, I’m not sure, but I do know that Final Fight Tough (Jap. FF3) was released December 22, 1995. By the way, here are Haggar’s, Guy’s, and Cody’s birthdates taken from Final Fight 1.

Cody- 4/18/67
Guy- 8/12/65
Haggar- 9/3/43

What I don’t understand is how quickly Capcom forgot 'bout FF3, when it came out AFTER SFZ did in arcades and supposedly on the same day as SFZ did on the PS1.

Once again before I go, Captain Commando was released in arcades in late 1991, but storyline-wise, it takes place during the year 2026.

Wow, according to those birthdates, Final Fight DID take place during 1989 instead of 1987, since Haggar was stated to be 46, Guy stated to be 24, and Cody stated to be 22 during Final Fight 1.

…oi vey, how confusing. Curse Capcom for not being able to keep their timelines straight -_- Argh! How confusing.

Though… Final Fight two also said Haggar was 46, too. Course, since FF2 took place only a year after FF1 and maybe not even a whole year, I guess that’s possible.

What’s Final Fight Advance say?

Final Fight One (Final Fight Advance) says 1989. ^^

Maybe Capcom bumped Final Fight 2 and Alpha 2 up a year or two or something…
