Warriors Fate: Street Fighter story thread, revived

SPOILERS
Balrog/Vega Cinematic Intro

Man. That hardly counts as spoilers. NOthing happened. That was just a small bit of Claw being Claw, and hilariously still in his fighting outfit at a ball.

re: Akuma’s lines

Wow! That line “My fists bleed death”… that was one of the lines of his (actually, the only one mentioned) I got from the inside story info I got last May! o_O

Seth’s voice… Ahh… Not menacing enough. And waaaaay too familiar. >:|

“I’m beautiful… So very beautiful”

CLASSIC!!!

Well, I guess now I have justification for questioning the “insiders”. Bleed death my @#$.

Kudos to them for not messing up the narcissist like they did the emperor and the oni.

I know man, but it’s still something from inside the game that wasn’t released before. (and it seems to be the full intro, so…)

Ultima… any clue about Vega’s body being metallic tentacles?
According to what Siegfried said, I thought it was his intro, but his description says that Vega is naked on a tank, and here he’s dressed.

I do have a few theories (one of them being his ORIGINAL body, even before the SFZ series one), but I don’t have the time to develop them right now…

About him being killed by Gouki in SSF2… well, I’m almost sure it was a dummy Vega.

BTW, the only difference between the arcade and console version of Ryu’s ending, is a missing part of the dialogue…

the anime prologues and endings are 1 minute to 1 min and 30 seconds so not all of Ryu’s ending was soon in that final boss video.

If I’m not mishearing it, Sagat sounds like he saying “furui aite ha monotari darou”, which loosely means “satisfy me, my old adversary” .

I can barely hear what Gouki says, considering the guy on the video is drowning his voice, but he says “misetero” or “behold”.

Not what I’m hearing, but won’t know for sure unless I see some Japanese subs.

About Gourinji.

I did a bit of googling and tried every possible Japanese spelling for Gourinji and I found there is an actual Gourin-ji (???) temple in Osaka.

Apparently its another name for the Fuiji-dera temple. Perhaps that’s where Capcom took the name from (Capcom is an Osaka-based company after all).

Right, I hate it when they walk around in fighting gear while everybody else has casual clothing. Balrog would probably hide his tattoo.

The voice is lame. Also Capcom should have given him some texture/structure. He looks too flat without the dated silver surfer effect. His iked art was much better.

Is that a specific brand around Blanka’s neck?

So the Comic Book Forum has been moved to Media Studios, I guess it’s part of this site’s reconstructuring for once the console version of SF4 roles around. I’ve contacted Erik Ko and Matt Moylan of Studio Udon about still being active in that forum to answer questions and so on but who knows what their reaction to this will be and stuff.

Vasili10 - I can finally get around to updating the CFE faq again. Was wondering if you could translate the rest of Leo’s quotes. Whenever you have time, no rush or anything. I’ll put the link for the faq back in my sig whenever I update it again lol! Thanks!

Which one? His Japanese VA or his English one?

Cause the Japanese VA is none other than Akio Ohtsuka, the Japanese voice of Solid Snake, who happens to be one of my favorite voice actors.

Odd cause Kel’thuzad voice is aswome and he’s voice by the same guy who voice Seth, Michael McConnohie.

Warcraft 3 Kel’Thuzad

edit: Seth only sound menceing in his japanese voice when Akio ohtsuka changes his tone of voice. Michale Mconnohie keeps the same tone of voice for Seth and never changes it. this could be cause the voice director want Michael McConnohie to stick with one tone of voice for Seth and didn’t want a menceing voice.

the reason behind this could be that the voice director didn’t want Seth to sound like Bison. Michael McConnohie also voice Lord Uther in Warcraft 3: reign of chaos. Michale Mconnohie also voices the Agency Director in Crackdown.

edit 2: both these voices sound good, so it’s the american voice director’s fault.

Lol yeah Seth’s voice sounds like Kel’thuzad. I was wondering who’s voice Seth reminded me of. -.-

when Kel’thuzad says something menceing his voice gets deeper and his tone changes. otherwise when he’s talking normally he sound just like Seth.

Interesting. I wonder if the same temple’s the basis for Furude Temple in Higurashi.:wonder: They both look awfully similar.

Queued up, will do them…sometime, probably next month. Thanks Sano.

re: Seth’s voice

I was talking about the english voice. I need to check, cause I’m sure I’ve heard that voice about a dozen times by now in various anime, but nothing is coming to mind at the moment.

vasili:

Why would you question the insiders when they’ve been 90% accurate? When SFIV drops I’ll post the PM I got and you can compare the info I got last May to the final product for yourself. If there’s a mistranslation between JPN and English, that’s hardly their fault.

Lord Vega:

> Ultima… any clue about Vega’s body being metallic tentacles?
According to what Siegfried said, I thought it was his intro, but his description says that Vega is naked on a tank, and here he’s dressed.

No clue. I think it might just be a cool visual and doesn’t have any story significance.

> About him being killed by Gouki in SSF2… well, I’m almost sure it was a dummy Vega.

Nope. That was the real deal alright.

They probably thought Seth was some sort of cyborg and wanted an unimotional robotic like voice. Like Arnold from T2.

You kind of indicated it yourself, 90%. That’s a line you say you’ve known since last May, several months before Gouki was publicly unveiled, saying the Japanese “equivalent” of that line, which like Gen’s beginning speech in the first anime trailer is so not what you read in the subs.
The reason I’d question the insiders is because I don’t know where the insider info comes from: English origins or Japanese. Each time the 10% comes up as a discrepancy is cause for leaning towards the former. Gouki’s example above, has been that wrong from that long ago.

I’m not saying it’s their fault; I’m saying I continue to keep a skeptical eye on what comes from them.

Amazing! :wgrin:
I feel like Ryu had to move like the DC character the Flash to avoid that. Cool.
