Now you’re reaching; SFEX isn’t part of SF cannon as it isn’t Capcom.
They let someone else “borrow” their characters, so to speak, like how a studio would lend use of their actors back in the day to another studio.
…
It is interesting how much emphasis people place on this when its so easy to change with the release with a single game. Do you really think someone at Capcom keeps track of every 2D game’s story arc and walks around like a living Capcom historical guide?
young one: Mister, who taught Ryu his Super Art 3 from Third Strike? Walking History:Answers student. Student’s eyes beam with understanding and clarity. young one: Mister, how did the fight between Gen and Akuma end up? Walkin History:Answers student. Once again, the Student inwardly rejoices. young one: Mister, where does SFEX take place within SF cannon? slap Walking History:I will medidate, and then destroy you!
That ending is from the american version, the text provided here is the translation of the japanese versions. The american ones doesn’t have differences between fighting Vega or Gouki, and Gouki was totally mute in the US version of SSF2X…
I didn’t know about you facing Gouki in Japan instead of Thailand… I heard that it was impossible to fight Gouki because of a bug in the system.
Hum, I’m more inclined on SF3:NG, cuz, when this one was released, SFZ3 was still in development, although, Vega could be recovering from his fight with Rose in SFZ2. Yes, recovering would suit it better on the SSF2X case.
It’s a official fact that Vega was defeated by Gouki in the end of SSF2X.
Some things are debatable in the plot guide. I see the guide more as a reference than a final word of SF story.
The reason that I say that, is because of Capcom… they never resolved some things, and they keep changing the storyline. So…
Yeah! That’s the picture!
Well, I still believe that the three made to the final battle with Vega, and things went just as how it was explained earlier.
I never really understood WHEN some stories happened, if in SFZ3 or SSF2X, like Dee Jay’s and Fei Long’s.
Also, Ryu being in Thailand and meeting with Vega’s remains… I bet he was after Gouki instead of Vega…
I think they meant for those characters to make it to Bison to resolve their stories, not simply because they’re that good. Ken and Chun-Li are no worse than Cammy or T.Hawk, but they don’t get that far because it’s not necessary.
Ken might’ve lost to Ryu. As for Chun-Li, she has the same goal as Guile, so I’m guessing she was deliberately put in a match with him and she voluntarily threw the fight.
With a collection of thrown fights that would be the most boring tournament ever with everything interesting happening outside of the actual battles. A canon legit movie would be lame as hell.
There doesn’t have to be a collection of fights thrown, but that was all I could think of in Chun-Li’s case. What better way for Bison to finish her and Guile off by having one incapacitating the other first? They both share the same goal. It doesn’t have to be necessarily boring. They can still put on a show and make it look convincing, but I doubt either of them can afford to bust up the other so badly that they can’t fulfill their end of the mission in some alternative way.
Of course, it’s possible Chun could’ve lost to someone else, but seeing as she’s just as capable, if not better than Cammy, it’s difficult to imagine her going out in any less convenient way than forcing her to fight Guile.
Perhaps she was taken out by one of his henchmen?
They make convenient fillers for this sort of thing.
Sagat could’ve easily taken Chun out, 'cause I doubt Chun could stand up to Sagat, yet she’s strong enough to weaken him so perhaps he’d have lost to someone else and couldn’ve have fought Ryu.
So on.
Maybe they should just state what happens like Namco does with Tekken and Sega with Virtual Fighter (or do they? I may be mistaken.)
Vega’s more probable. There’s artwork of each of them looking into a mirror, which shows the damage they took. But that doesn’t tell you which of them lost or if they even fought at all.
Well, Sf4 has another new character, who in my opinion is the worst design I have ever seen. His name is Rufus and he’s a fat guy built like a watermelon.
It’s more probable, but I think Vega’d be much more at home fighting some ugly fuck and sending him to Hell. There’s nothing he does that leads me to believe he appreciates beauty in fighting techniques, or scarring that of others (his actions towards Cammy in alpha 3)
The AV? I think this is Teksuo Hikari.
Not exactly sure what’s up with him, what story he’s from, whatever, but it looked like a cool av, and it was black n white like my previous one so I went with it. Keeping the Guile one for a rainy day, or when I ever make a tourney again with my schedule, or finally own you on a regular.
I like him. Easily representative of "fat America."
McDonald fans unite! (he even wears the colors)
Does one of you own this book (if it’s a book, it says “tapis” which means carpet)? http://fightingstreet.com/pics/temp/various/tapis.jpg
What’s in it? It has all female characters on the cover and comes with Hyper Street Fighter II AE.
1.) Could SF4 turn out to something like Final Fight Revenge?
Is that why Dictator is back for good? I really like the idea of returning him (I’m a HYPER FIGHTING SF 2 FAN than any other SF) but I hope we could still play SF3 with SF2 Fighters together in the future sequels.
I hope capcom would choose the fan service route like everyone said IMHO than discarding the Sf3 fighter.
2.) Since Capcom USA owned license on SF do they have rights on canon issue and not just the game franchise?
Long overdue scans of Nash and Vega(cape) from the SFA2 Strategy Guide.
There were a few other things I was going to scan but I will have to get to it a couple of weeks from now, ack just so busy… Akiman skipped his Girl of the Month drawing this month in Gamaga Magazine so I’m only behind one drawing with regards to that.
