Either of these two paragraphs must be confirmed if the Hugo/Andore section is to remain merged. AACâs entry blows it wide open by listing Hugoâs family as himself, a father, a mother, and two younger sisters. No brother, and no other family members hitching a ride to America. Andore Jr.'s CCC bio does nothing more than coincide with his older bio found in the FF1 cd manual.
I dunno where Tiamat got his info from specifically regarding the first paragraph (the second one is news to me), but I know I encountered that same info in the first paragraph from Dark Lancerâs old arcade site circa late 1997 or early 1998 (i.e. long before 3S or AAC). I believe itâs info for 2I Hugo, so look for those sources.
Actually Tiamatâs first paragraph is a rough summary of whats presented in the AAC encyclopedia under Hugo.
His second paragraph i dunnoeâŚ
As for Andore from Final Fight revenge, if we accept what the AAC Encyclopedia writer has said in that âAlthough we were aware of his presence in other games, he is now raised to status of Playable CharacterâŚâ
Apparently to them, Andore is not Hugo if you read that, since 2nd Imp came out before FF Revenge.
But of course, itâs just what those guys could research out on their own, we donât know what the creators originally intended.
Well, one POSSIBLE thing to note is that Final Fight Revenge was in development before SFA3 yet came out after. Dunno if it was in development before SF3DI, though, and dunno if that would influence the AAC writer.
Anyway I donât think development influenced what they typed, because those thoughts were formed at the point they were making AAC, something like âFactual Opinionsâ as weird as those may sound. The information of the Encyclopedia already were there for them, so they sifted through all of it and took the games chronologically as they appeared.
Like I said, I donât know if thatâs what they planned in development, I sure would be interested to have CApcom come up and Have a Hugo VS Andore match somewhenâŚor for them to come up and say Hugo is Andoreâs lesser Evil Alter Ego or some suchâŚ
Edit : Forgot to put in, AAC writers are human, and if Andore and Hugo are the same person, they may have missed out the rest of his family. I donât know. Like Tiamat had info on Hugo bringing his bortherâs and father etcetc, maybe the AAC writerâs missed out on that info?
There are 3 sources Iâm aware of for 2I Hugo info: AACâs entry, a 2I arcade pamphlet, and Capcom Japanâs 2I page. Unfortunately only AAC has his family info, and no firstborn son and/or brother info found there.
Exactly, except for the firstborn son/brother lines unless I misread somewhere. Itâs those sentences that need confirmation especially.
Not to mention that FFR was developed by Capcom USA.
Nope, you didnât misread, youâre right, thats the sentence we need to explain.
In Japanese ?? is meant to be the word for Firstborn Son. in AAC, it puts it as ??.
While read in chinese, or if casually read, it does seem like it is describing him as the Big (first) Son, in actuality (and In Japanese), it is meant to literally describe Hugo as a Big Person. As opposed to ?? = Small person (Well, normal person at least, ?? is really used for very big people, like the real life Andore, or maybe one of the bigger sumo wrestlers.)
In that sentence in AAC it simply says âA Big Man born from a German household.â And shouldnât be read as âThe Fisrtborn son of a German household.â
@ vasili
Thanks man.
So if Ryu found him, does that mean he was supposed to fight him in the finals, or that he just randomly found him, or something else.
Wow, where did this information come from all of a sudden? Doesnât that make Ryu very very likely to have been the âwinnerâ of the SF2 tournament (even if unofficially)? âŚwell, hopefully weâll find out the answer to that question in SF4 anyways, but still⌠whoa.
All of a sudden? Long ago in a galaxy far, far awayâŚ
I posted the âUltimate SF2 Character Relations Chartâ which provides this info, between the posts for Goukiâs SSF2X accounts and those for the Revival concealed files. For the time being Iâm planning to place it in the Quickie Summaries SF2 section, so youâll be able to see it there when the guideâs ready.
For anyone not keeping up with the SF4 loketest thread, our good gaijins in Japan have brought us some interesting news:
All four Shadaloo bosses have been confirmed, and itâs said theyâll be initially playable. So Bison is either back from the dead, or his death is now officially retconned out of SF2. I think Akuma will probably kill him off for good this time though, because how Bison could still be active after losing the tournament is anyoneâs guess. Bison is just as muscular as he was in SF2.
Vega still has only one claw, so despite Sagatâs eyepatch staying on his right eye, Vegaâs claw will still magically switch between hands for gameplayâs sake. Heâll be slightly more muscular, so I would imagine his model to resemble his look from the SF2 Animated Movie.
And thereâs two new characters that havenât been officially revealed yet.
Rufus, whoâs seemingly based on Mr. Heart from Hokuto No Ken, and Shitennou, who thereâs no information on at this time (heh, I bet his nickname on this site will be âShit.â Lol.) Details on the third page.
Label me not⌠particularly surprised about the boss thing in SF4. In fact, I was wholly expecting it (including Bison). The only question I really had was the same (IE, whether itâd be a retcon or Bison actually finding a way to weasel his way out of death yet again)
