Warriors Fate: Street Fighter story thread, revived

Red Cyclone sometimes adds his own conclusions to the facts, not always easy to differ.

Random news:
For those still looking for SF Kanjis, here is one as a loading screen:

The weird game Street Fighter II Mouse Generation has its own art.

Brings up the nationality question again. Did Capcom make a mistake?

Either of these two paragraphs must be confirmed if the Hugo/Andore section is to remain merged. AAC’s entry blows it wide open by listing Hugo’s family as himself, a father, a mother, and two younger sisters. No brother, and no other family members hitching a ride to America. Andore Jr.'s CCC bio does nothing more than coincide with his older bio found in the FF1 cd manual.

Vasili:

I dunno where Tiamat got his info from specifically regarding the first paragraph (the second one is news to me), but I know I encountered that same info in the first paragraph from Dark Lancer’s old arcade site circa late 1997 or early 1998 (i.e. long before 3S or AAC). I believe it’s info for 2I Hugo, so look for those sources.

Also, what about Andore in Final Fight Revenge?

Actually Tiamat’s first paragraph is a rough summary of whats presented in the AAC encyclopedia under Hugo.

His second paragraph i dunnoe…

As for Andore from Final Fight revenge, if we accept what the AAC Encyclopedia writer has said in that “Although we were aware of his presence in other games, he is now raised to status of Playable Character…”

Apparently to them, Andore is not Hugo if you read that, since 2nd Imp came out before FF Revenge.

But of course, it’s just what those guys could research out on their own, we don’t know what the creators originally intended.

Well, one POSSIBLE thing to note is that Final Fight Revenge was in development before SFA3 yet came out after. Dunno if it was in development before SF3DI, though, and dunno if that would influence the AAC writer.

Remember what we talked about AAC years ago?

Anyway I don’t think development influenced what they typed, because those thoughts were formed at the point they were making AAC, something like “Factual Opinions” as weird as those may sound. The information of the Encyclopedia already were there for them, so they sifted through all of it and took the games chronologically as they appeared.

Like I said, I don’t know if that’s what they planned in development, I sure would be interested to have CApcom come up and Have a Hugo VS Andore match somewhen…or for them to come up and say Hugo is Andore’s lesser Evil Alter Ego or some such…

Edit : Forgot to put in, AAC writers are human, and if Andore and Hugo are the same person, they may have missed out the rest of his family. I don’t know. Like Tiamat had info on Hugo bringing his borther’s and father etcetc, maybe the AAC writer’s missed out on that info?

There are 3 sources I’m aware of for 2I Hugo info: AAC’s entry, a 2I arcade pamphlet, and Capcom Japan’s 2I page. Unfortunately only AAC has his family info, and no firstborn son and/or brother info found there.

Exactly, except for the firstborn son/brother lines unless I misread somewhere. It’s those sentences that need confirmation especially.

Not to mention that FFR was developed by Capcom USA.

Nope, you didn’t misread, you’re right, thats the sentence we need to explain.

In Japanese ?? is meant to be the word for Firstborn Son. in AAC, it puts it as ??.

While read in chinese, or if casually read, it does seem like it is describing him as the Big (first) Son, in actuality (and In Japanese), it is meant to literally describe Hugo as a Big Person. As opposed to ?? = Small person (Well, normal person at least, ?? is really used for very big people, like the real life Andore, or maybe one of the bigger sumo wrestlers.)

In that sentence in AAC it simply says “A Big Man born from a German household.” And shouldn’t be read as “The Fisrtborn son of a German household.”

Thanks for that acknowledgement Rokiseph.:china:

You’re most welcome Vasili

Hey guys. 1st time poster here. Quick question, I had heard that Ryu found Bison’s remains After Akuma SGS’d him. Is this true?

It’s true. Welcome to Warriors Fate, and thanks for feeding the beast.

@ vasili
Thanks man.
So if Ryu found him, does that mean he was supposed to fight him in the finals, or that he just randomly found him, or something else.

Sure thing WanderingWarrior. Yeah Ryu was going to fight him.

Wow, where did this information come from all of a sudden? Doesn’t that make Ryu very very likely to have been the “winner” of the SF2 tournament (even if unofficially)? …well, hopefully we’ll find out the answer to that question in SF4 anyways, but still… whoa.

All of a sudden? Long ago in a galaxy far, far away…

I posted the “Ultimate SF2 Character Relations Chart” which provides this info, between the posts for Gouki’s SSF2X accounts and those for the Revival concealed files. For the time being I’m planning to place it in the Quickie Summaries SF2 section, so you’ll be able to see it there when the guide’s ready.

Hi guys, just wanted to let U know about this thread:

Please read the bottom part of the post below the word EDIT. As contains info thats important to the ‘Plot’ section of the archive.

Crayfish.

For anyone not keeping up with the SF4 loketest thread, our good gaijins in Japan have brought us some interesting news:

All four Shadaloo bosses have been confirmed, and it’s said they’ll be initially playable. So Bison is either back from the dead, or his death is now officially retconned out of SF2. I think Akuma will probably kill him off for good this time though, because how Bison could still be active after losing the tournament is anyone’s guess. Bison is just as muscular as he was in SF2.

Vega still has only one claw, so despite Sagat’s eyepatch staying on his right eye, Vega’s claw will still magically switch between hands for gameplay’s sake. He’ll be slightly more muscular, so I would imagine his model to resemble his look from the SF2 Animated Movie.

And there’s two new characters that haven’t been officially revealed yet.

Rufus, who’s seemingly based on Mr. Heart from Hokuto No Ken, and Shitennou, who there’s no information on at this time (heh, I bet his nickname on this site will be “Shit.” Lol.) Details on the third page.

Label me not… particularly surprised about the boss thing in SF4. In fact, I was wholly expecting it (including Bison). The only question I really had was the same (IE, whether it’d be a retcon or Bison actually finding a way to weasel his way out of death yet again)

Yeah Chun-Li can attack Rufus with her Lightning Kick! History repeats itself. YOU WA SHOCK!
