I thought that was clear since we found out Gen’s Kung Fu is a style of Ansatsuken, too. I’d call it a nameless Japanese karate-like style.
How about these headings for the characters’ styles:
Gouken, Ryu, Ken, Sakura, Sean: Goutetsu’s ansatsuken utilizing kikouhou
Gen: souryu/mourning style & kiryu/hateful style ansatsuken
Gouki: Goutetsu’s ansatsuken maximizing satsui no hadou
If any defining of terms is necessary (ansatsuken, Goutetsu’s ansatsuken, etc.), those can be in the miscellaneous notes of each character.
Mourning like sad? Which one is the one with the fingers pointing down? Are both of them assasin styles? Does he have more than the two appearing in the Zero/Alpha series? Thanks!
Yes. In both his fingers are pointing down; mourning has both of his feet on the ground, and hateful has him on one foot. They’re both ansatsuken styles, and he doesn’t have any others appearing as far as I can tell. Dou itashimashite.:bgrin:
Sorry for my two unclear formulations in one post. I meant, does he have more styles storylinewise, besides the two ones appearing in the zero series? I suppose the mourning one is his SFI style, too.
He likely does have more (his SF1 crouching kick aka Chun Li’s crouching hard kick the Genden ansatsu shuu is only seen in his SF1 arsenal), and I believe he also uses bits of both mourning & hateful in SF1 from the stances he assumes.
I see, thanks for the info vasili10!
SFD is back. I missed that Capcom made another SF site (StreetFighterWorld.com).
You’re very welcome.:bgrin:
Sorry about the puzzle taking so long to arrive. It says I have to wait 17 days after the auction just to ask if the item has arrived at celgas office.
Dude where’s my puzzle?! I’ll give you negative feedback if you don’t come up with that puzzle!
Haha, you’re not premium! It’ll be here soon enough, it’s because of Celga and the seller of the puzzle that its taking long.
Vasili
Yep! Huge mess!
But I still have a few doubts:
-
This count that you made came from the arcade versions or home versions?
-
In SFZ1 and Z2, are the winning quotes character specific or they are just random.
If so, how can I make the specific (and the random) ones appear? -
The SFZ3 count is from double upper, so I bet that the count depends on each console:
25 Arcade (25 specific + 4 random) (Mike Bison, Juni and Juli share the same from Vega)
33 PSX, SAT, Dreamcast (33 specific + 8 random)
36 GBA (35 specific + 8 random, Juni and Juli share the same character specific from all the others)
37 PSP (37 specific + 8 random, Juni and Juli receive different ones?)
Is my count correct? -
In SSF2T, with the exception of Vega, everyone has ALL their previous quotes (from Sf2WW, CE, HF), plus a few ones?
Thanks for all man!
-
arcade versions where fighter rosters didn’t change come home versions, otherwise home.
-
they’re both kinds, and I’m not totally clear if you can always control them; it’s a case by case study.
-
correct.
-
according to a now-defunct Japanese site that catalogued many quotes including all SF2 quotes even in hiragana (just like WW’s endings), yes.
Hai, Vega-sama. (that was to you Lord Vega, in case you were wondering).:china:
Okay, the puzzle should be here very soon.
I hope so.:annoy:
2) they’re both kinds, and I’m not totally clear if you can always control them; it’s a case by case study.
Hum, yesterday I spent 6 hours playing with Vega in SFZ1 (emulator, Nebula, so arcade version) trying to gather all his winning quotes. I could only get 12.
But I noticed something… When the cheat to have infinite health was active, I noticed that I could only get 6 winning quotes (winning with perfects). When I won without perfect the other 6 appeared. Also, when I finished the fight with his Psycho Crusher super combo or with Psycho Shot, most of the times, his winning quote was something about Psycho Power (I got used to recognize some japanese words after all this time :P), and against Birdie, Nash and Chun-Li, most of the times the winning quote was something about Shadoloo (there are 2 winning quotes that mentions the organization’s name). I even tried winning using zero counter, but I couldn’t get the other 4… I wonder if those are home versions only.
Does the all about books bring a list of all the quotes? Like, All About Capcom Fighting Games did with Sodom?
Thanks a lot man, you rule!
Sorry its taking so long aerialgroove.
The single-game-title AA books list all quotes from their respective arcade versions, so the final four quotes are possible for you to view. AAC just made a special exception with Sodom due to his broken Japanese. For anyone in SFZ1, try different combinations of simultaneous button pressing codes after winning a match: one direction plus any three attack buttons --> 16 possibilities --> will make your fighter says something different when you win. I believe this is the only sure way of viewing each quote. The randomness factor depends on how healthy you remain when you win, hence you found some with perfects, and on rare cases depending on which character you defeat, which may or may not override the quote codes. Vega in SFZ1 has one such case of a unique winning quote if he defeats Nash or Rose according to the text, his “scoffing at justice” quote.
So yeah, Lord Vega Ganbaru!:woot:
Here’s Guy’s Zero 2 account from the Z2 Gamest mook and AASFZ2. Hopefully the next one will come sooner than this. Enjoy.
Guy from SFZ2
Bushin Hassouken
The sound of a sobbing foghorn, fades away drawing in the long trail of the night fog.
After the rain of the harbor’s pier, 2 men were confronting each other face to face.
The lighthouse’s light, at fixed intervals would reveal illuminated in the darkness the 2 profiles.
Bushinryu’s 38th order legitimate successor Zeku and, his only disciple, is Guy.
“Through combat, I will want to more than master bushinryu.“
Speaking Guy’s wish with eyes of sincerity, alienated from the island country Japan, he was at a new training ground of the large country America.
And so setting to sea tonight…out of Guy’s proposal, before he’d part from the master for a short while, he would exchange fists that have progressed in order to test the the disciplining results.
The silence was destroyed.
The 2 of them simultaneously fly into the open sky, starting to reply with furious fists. Mutual decisive blows would break with now advancing now retreating offense and defense continuing every few minutes.
With Guy overlooking his master’s momentary attack openings, he was thrown into precise consecutive blows. Quickly the intervals parted, Guy would prepare for counterattacks. However, the state of his master was strange. The fighting spirit from his master was disappearing. Already his stance had his back facing Guy.
”…? Has something ailed you?” Guy did ask.
Hearing that, Master Zeku with eyes of frank disappointment glared at Guy.
"What’s wrong. you say…? Surely as that is a foolish question, in the least under Zeku, having been able to learn bushinryu there’s usefulness from your mouth!"
Guy was bewildered. In the battle now, what was to say the conclusive mistake? The consecutive blows fired at the master in midair, they became moves based on the foundation within bushinryu, not matching nothing whatever to the extent of the mark of Zeku’s teachings.
Zeku perceived Guy’s state, for the sake of softening his facial expression his face once again facing the darkness, he said. "…as a farewell present for your setting off, a single word tradition to you. ‘Climb over all!’ …!"
How often the foghorn would resound within, Zeku’s form had vanished from before Guy.
Since then, until he would come to understand in combat his master’s true meaning, Guy would come to devote numerous years. The midair consecutive blows “bushin hassouken” …completing that sure killing technique as a Guy original, still for quite a time it is the previous story.
Also one small note I skimmed due to some posts on Capcom BBS, Gill was selected out of 2048 test subjects divided into pairs, to become the leader of his organization. The plot guide currently says around 1000, but it’s more than twice that many according to both AASF3 and the SF3 NG Gamest mook.
Next time, Sodom. Thanks for reading minna-san.
Hi Vasili!
You were right, health DOES interfere with the winning quotes on Zero 1.
So we have (remember I was playing with Vega):
4 with low lifebar
4 with perfect
6 with the life bar in the middle (2 of them appears more after a super combo)
2 specific (I couldn’t really distinguish them, one popped only once while I was playing against Rose, and I played against her a lot. I’ll have those translated soon… yes I want to help on this task, but I need someone to check the accuracy of the translation, can you hlep me Vasili?).
But this coun’t isn’t a rule, the quotes randoms a lot, and you might have a “perfect” quote when you were with a low life bar, but that’s not that common.
BTW, I have 2 Vega pictures here that I havent seen anywhere, one is Vega and Geese together, the other is Vega almost with his back to us, looking above his shoulder grinning, he’s standing on what seems to be a world map colored with dark green, and the background is light green. I’ll try to upload it.
Thanks a lot.
